The hum of the airborne HQ vibrated beneath their feet. In the command center, tension hung heavy in the air. A holographic map of Eastern Europe hovered above the central console, casting a cold blue light over the Avengers' faces.

Nick Fury stood tall, one hand on the table, his voice sharp.

"Banner located Dr. Erik Selvig. An abandoned HYDRA bunker, near the Sokovian border. Energy readings off the charts. The portal's nearly complete."

Thor stepped forward, his eyes dark.

"My brother may have completed the gateway… but he's not finished. Now that the Omnitrix has revealed itself, he'll want it. Desperately."

Captain America crossed his arms.

"Problem is, we don't know if Loki's still with Selvig or if he's already moved on."

He looked at Fury, firm.

"Tony and I will go. Quick recon. If the doctor's there, we extract him and confirm the portal status."

Fury gave a single nod. "Make it clean. No heroics."

Tony spun on his heel. "Armor's hot. Let's roll."

Cap turned to Fury. "I need a Quinjet. Fast."

Fury arched a brow. "You know how to fly one?"

Steve kept walking.

"Learned yesterday."

Fury's lip twitched into a brief grin… then faded.

The countdown had begun.

Inside the Training Bay

The room was dimly lit, designed for close-quarters combat. Natasha Romanoff stood in the center, her stance relaxed but sharp. Ben and Gwen entered, still bruised from earlier drills.

Natasha's voice was calm, emotionless.

"Listen closely. When the Omnitrix runs out, Ben, you're vulnerable. And Gwen… your powers are still raw. If things go south, running might be your only option."

Ben frowned.

"Can I ask you something first?"

Natasha tilted her head.

"You always seem… colder than the others. Why?"

She paused.

Then, for once, she answered.

"Because Loki took someone from me. Clint Barton. Hawkeye. Controlled his mind, turned him into a weapon." Her jaw clenched. "He broke him. Then let him go."

Her voice dropped, almost a whisper.

"I'm going to bring him back. Whatever it takes."

Ben looked down, fists trembling.

"I lost my grandpa. Loki's gonna pay."

Natasha's eyes sharpened.

"Then stop talking. Start learning."

Eastern Europe – The Bunker

Thunder rolled over blackened skies. Cracked buildings stood like broken teeth. At the center of the ruins: an old HYDRA outpost, its antennae buzzing faintly with unnatural energy.

Iron Man shot through the clouds, red and gold armor slicing the air. Behind him, the Quinjet descended, cutting through the wind.

Inside Tony's helmet, his voice echoed into the comms.

"We've reached the target, Fury. And let me tell you… this place screams haunted Soviet regrets."

He landed silently near the entrance. The Quinjet touched down behind him. Cap emerged, shield ready.

They moved quickly.

Inside the crumbling structure, dust choked the air. Electric cables slithered across the floor like vines. At the center of a collapsed chamber, a man sat tied to a metal beam—head down, trembling.

Tony's repulsors flared softly.

"Dr. Selvig?"

The man barely stirred.

Cap knelt down, gently removing the blindfold.

Selvig's eyes were red, tears streaming down his cheeks. He flinched at the light.

Tony activated a laser, cutting the bindings.

Selvig collapsed to his knees, sobbing.

"He's gone… Loki. That bastard… once I finished setting up the portal, he let me go. Released my mind."

His voice broke. A whisper of despair.

"He said… 'I want you to watch the end of your world. See what you've helped unleash.' Then he tied me up and left…"

Cap stiffened.

"The Tesseract's gone."

Tony's face darkened.

"Son of a—"

Cap activated his comms.

"Fury! It's a trap! Loki's not here. He already finished everything and left. We're bringing Selvig in now—"

Static.

Then:

"Cap—!" Fury's voice exploded through the radio. "We're under attack! We've lost three engines—just one left—The ship's falling—!"

The transmission cut.

Tony roared.

"DAMN IT!"

His boots ignited. He blasted into the sky like a missile.

Cap pulled Selvig to his feet, helping him toward the Quinjet.

"Hold on, Doc. We're getting you out of here."

The jet screamed back into the air.

But the real war… was already underway.

Back at the Flying HQ – Chaos

The impact was cataclysmic.

A missile tore through the floating base's left flank. The structure groaned like a dying beast, tilting violently in the air. Sirens blared. Fire erupted from the walls. Metal screamed as it twisted.

In one of the lower chambers, Ben, Gwen, and Natasha were thrown to the ground by the blast.

Smoke. Sparks. Heat.

Then—

A low, animalistic growl.

Banner was on his knees, gasping, clutching his head. His skin rippled. His breathing turned ragged. His eyes—glowing green.

Ben and Gwen backed away, terrified.

Natasha crawled toward him.

"Bruce! You can fight it. Stay with me!" she shouted, her voice breaking. "I swear on my life—I will get you out of this!"

Banner's jaw clenched. His fingers dug into the floor.

His voice came out… wrong. Deep. Twisted.

"On your life?"

The transformation detonated.

Muscle and fury exploded from his frame. Bones cracked and reshaped. His shirt shredded as the Hulk emerged with a deafening roar, sending debris flying.

He turned—eyes blazing—and launched Natasha across the chamber.

She smashed into a metal wall with a brutal clang, crumpling to the floor.

"Natasha!" Gwen screamed.

The Hulk roared again, chest heaving, then turned toward Ben and Gwen, ready to charge.

Command Center – Loki's Strike (Revised)

Meanwhile, in the main command bay, Nick Fury barked orders as holographic maps flickered and trembled under the impact shockwaves.

"Stabilize the altitude—get the emergency thrusters online!" he shouted. "We lose this ship, we lose the war!"

The room trembled again.

Then—

The main doors exploded inward, sending metal shards flying.

Out of the smoke stepped Loki, clad in his black and gold armor, staff in hand, eyes burning with cruelty.

But it wasn't Chitauri soldiers behind him.

It was worse.

Agents of SHIELD.

Dozens of them—fully armed, armor-clad, but… their eyes glowed a cold, eerie blue.

Controlled. Twisted. Like puppets.

Fury froze for half a second. Then his jaw clenched.

"Damn it…"

Loki stepped forward, smiling wickedly.

"I thought I'd come personally. It's always more poetic… when hope dies face to face."

Fury raised his pistol.

"Yeah? Well, I've got enough bullets for a damn poem."

The possessed agents opened fire without warning.

Fury dove behind a reinforced console. Sparks and plasma tore through the command room. Alarms blared as systems overloaded.

Fury slammed his fist down on a hidden panel beneath Max Tennyson's old desk.

With a hiss and a clunk, sections of the floor opened.

Inside: alien-tech weaponry, high-grade armor, and defense drones—all from Max's secret stockpile.

Fury grabbed a glowing alien rifle, its barrel humming with energy. Around him, several auto-drones activated, rising from the ground and locking on to the incoming agents.

Loki watched with mild amusement.

"Max Tennyson. Always full of surprises."

Fury stepped out of cover, rifle aimed.

"You're not the only one with tricks, horn-boy."

He fired.

A pulse of blue energy struck one of the possessed agents, knocking him out cold without killing him.

Fury's voice echoed as the drones flanked him.

"Max believed in second chances. Me? I believe in cleaning house."

The battle for the command center had begun.

And time was running out.

Back in the Lower Decks – The Escape

Ben stared down the Hulk barreling toward them.

No time.

He slammed the Omnitrix.

A burst of green light.

His body twisted, fur exploded from his skin, his mouth stretched into a bestial maw. His eyes vanished. Muscles and instincts took over.

Wildmutt had arrived.

Gwen gasped.

"Ben?!"

The beast let out a deep growl.

Without hesitation, Wildmutt lunged, grabbed Gwen gently with his jaws, and tossed her onto his back. She wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, holding on.

Wildmutt turned—nose twitching, ears flicking—then sprinted into the smoke, faster than any human could react. His claws scraped the floor. The scent of destruction and rage flooded his enhanced senses.

Behind them, the Hulk roared, pounding through steel, chasing them like an avalanche of muscle and fury.

Gwen clung to Wildmutt's back, heart racing.

"Please," she whispered. "Don't let him catch us."

Wildmutt howled.

He wasn't planning to.
