Begin Again In Marvel

POV Rio

I was reading a recent report about Kingpin when a clone of mine walked in.

Clone: "We're ready. Our defenses are set up, and the citizens have been evacuated. Kingpin has issued the attack order."

Rio: "Is the false base set up?"

Clone: "Yep, it didn't take too long since it's mostly Earth Release. Monika has started the media blackout. All digital devices will cease to function once the fighting starts. So even if someone somehow sees the clones disappearing through the illusions then they will be seen as crazy."

Rio: "Perfect and everything is in place to cease the assets of the various criminal groups."

Clone: "Yep, have you decided if we will kill Kingpin?"

Rio: "Giovanni will not me."

Clone: "I see. Well, the attack should begin shortly."

I get up and transform into Giovanni the leader of Team Rocket. I enter the observation room and wait for the enemy's attack. I don't have to wait long as several WW2 tanks and other outdated heavy vehicles roll into Hell's Kitchen.

'I still find it fascinating that he not only got a hold of these but even got the Government and Police to ignore them and the chaos that will happen today.'

BOOOOM

I feel the ground shake as several tanks fire their main cannons into our created defensive fortifications. After the boom comes the unending rain of bullets on both sides. I begin meditating to handle the death of so many clones. We couldn't afford to use many undead as it would draw attention and cost us valuable soldiers.

POV Proton (Shadow Clone)

I was watching the tanks roll through the street we were on and I waited to trigger the trap.

Proton: "Now!"

A grunt presses a button and a bomb goes off destroying the tank and sending shrapnel into the nearby criminals. Once the shrapnel stops flying we exit our hiding and start firing on them. We take turns shooting to ensure we always have someone shooting at the enemy.

Pop

Proton: "Sniper! Get down!"

We pull behind cover and just in time, I feel a bullet fly just over my head.

'Crap, that shot came from several streets away. Which means I probably drew the short straw and attracted Taskmaster. Why couldn't he go after Arianna or Archer!'

I look to the grunts and they nod likely knowing what I was thinking. I signal them to move to point two as I take a few with me to draw Taskmaster away. I only make a couple of streets before I have to stop as Taskmaster catches up to us.

Taskmaster: "There is no point in running. Come quietly, my employer wants you alive."

Proton: "Sorry but I am not into men."

I throw a smoke pellet down that allows the few grunts with me to continue on the mission while I stall Taskmaster. I hide while Taskmaster attempts to find me.

Taskmaster: "Why don't you come out? My employer will spare you if you tell him all you know."

I continue to sneak away but I am eventually found as Taskmaster shoots at me.

Proton: "Hey watch where you point that thing. I don't want to mess up my uniform. You have no idea how much this cost."

Taskmaster doesn't seem to care and continues to shoot at me before he runs out of ammo. When he does he switches to a sword and I grab the baton at my waist in order to fight back.

Taskmaster: "You are quite competent in dueling. Though not that great."

Taskmaster disarms me as I have strict orders not to use any special techniques or powers. After I am disarmed I am put at sword point and I just give a nervous smile.

Proton: "Now there's no need to be violent."

Taskmaster: "I don't think so. You made me fight for it and as such I am going to have to be rough with you."

Proton: "Oooh Kinky."

I activate a gas bomb on myself that releases a poison that I am immune to as a clone. While the smoke makes me disappear, I make a run for it.

Taskmaster: "Get back here."

Proton: "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again."

I run away from all the fighting and lead Taskamaster far enough away that I can be certain he won't be able to enter the battle again. Once I go into a dead end Taskmaster catches up to me.

Taskmaster: "This is the end of the line for you."

As Taskmaster gets closer I make sure there are no nearby witnesses and use the Force to knock out Taskmaster by making it seem like he was attacked from behind. Once he is dealt with I place him in a trash bin and lock the trash bin so it is harder for someone to get to him. Then I book it back to the front lines.

POV Petrel (Shadow Clone)

Petrel: "Hold the line reinforcements are on their way!"

Boom

Grunt: "Tank left flank!"

I grab the RPG we stole from some random crime family and quickly fire at the tank destroying it.

'Stupid Hydra and their blasted resources. I hope the burn in Tartarus for the annoyances they brought us.'

After the tank was destroyed we finished the few remaining enemies and I checked my phone to see where the enemy forces were moving.

Petrel: "That's the last of them for now. Fall back to line 3 and activate the traps."

Grunt: "Yes sir!"

'I hope this ends soon as this is getting ridiculous. How can Kingpin even get all these people to work together? Oh right, we are the big bad right now.'

Once we get into position I feel a rumble and hear an explosion at the location we just left.

'Looks like the traps were set off. Wait what is that whistling sound?'

I look up and my eyes nearly pop out of my head as I see several mortar shells falling towards us.

Petrel: "MORTARS GET DOWN!"

We all run to cover as the first shell impacts. After a few minutes of shelling, I look out from the cover and see we lost over half the clones I had under my command.

'Crap and I can sense the enemy moving our way.'

Petrel: "Enemies incoming get to your positions. I will call for backup."

'Why the heck are they using such powerful explosives in a freaking city. Is Kingpin absolutely butt-fracking insane?'

I feel the ground shake.

Petrel: "You have to be kidding me! More Tanks. Where are they getting all these freaking tanks?!"

I grab a panzerfaust and aim it to fire as soon as the tank turns the corner.

'Got ya!'

BOOM

Petrel: "Take that you Rebel Scum!"

Grunt: "Uh sir we aren't imperials."

Petrel: "Shut up! I am having a moment!"

The grunts look at each other and shrug. Then start firing on the enemy.

Several Hours Later...

Petrel: "Finally that should be the last of them. Now let's hurry up and start collecting everything we can before the cops show up."

While everyone starts collecting the bodies, weapons, vehicles, ammo, and explosives I make a call.

Petrel: "Hey Boss, we have finished the last of the attackers."

Giovanni: "Good, we will counterattack after we collect everything of value."

Petrel: "Got it, boss."

POV Rio

I hung up the phone and went over our 'losses'.

'We lost 53% of the stolen munitions we have gathered so far. Over two thousand clones were dispelled. On the other hand, we gained almost 75k corpses and replenished most of our munitions. The scrap from the tanks and other vehicles has earned us plenty of resources for other projects. Not that we really need more scrap. With this victory organized crime worldwide will have taken a massive blow. 98% of all organized crime has been eliminated which means I will have to start targeting criminals in prisons.'

I look at the live feed of Kingpin's tower and see him and the other leaders arguing and pointing guns at each other. I see someone who wasn't there the last time I checked.

Rio: "Monika when did that man in the back join and who is he?"

Monika: "He arrived 4 minutes ago and my search has found that he is a member of Hydra with an official position as an FBI agent. He works directly for Sitwell."

Rio: "Hmm, so Sitwell is getting involved now. I thought Piece was the one in charge of the Kingpin situation."

Monika: "My records still show Pierce as the one in charge of Kingpin. There are no records of Sitwell sending assistants."

Rio: "An internal fight or is the agent they sent meant to deal with Kingpin if he fails? Regardless let's visit our uninvited guests and explain to them how the world works now."

I received word that we are done with most of the clean-up operation and the clones are ready to support me. I used Gate to appear in a warehouse near Kingpin's Tower. We bought the property for this exact reason.

Rio: "Seal of the tower and kill any who resist. I will speak to the leaders myself."

I straighten my suit and wait a little bit before entering the tower with Archer by my side. I go straight to the meeting room that the leaders are in and walk in to see many dead bodies as it seems many tried to resist.

Grunt: "Boss the targets are secure and the tower is under our complete control."

I nod and look to Kingpin who is sitting at the end of the table holding his cane firmly.

Rio: "Greetings everyone. I have been looking forward to this meeting for a long time. Many of you managed to avoid joining my group and decided to flee here instead. Unfortunately, you decided to attack me and my group and I can't have that. I am sure you all understand in the underworld reputation is worth more than gold."

Kingpin: "I presume you are Giovanni the leader of Team Rocket."

Rio: "Yes, that is me. It's nice to meet you formally Wilson Fisk or do you prefer Kingpin?"

Kingpin: "Wilson is fine. May we discuss our terms? I can provide your group a lot if you agree to let the rest of my enterprise continue."

Rio: "I like you Wilson so I am inclined to come to an arrangement with you. But you have killed a lot of my people today. You also caused a lot of damage to me today. I don't like it when my things are damaged."

Kingpin: "I am willing to compensate you for your losses. I also gladly offer up everyone here as payment for what they did to your group."

Stick: "You bastard this wasn't the deal!"

Rio: "Ah Stick is it. I am most disappointed in you. Your group should be thanking me for ridding the world of the Hand and instead here you are trying to plot against me. I have a great distaste for ungrateful whelps."

Stick tries to attack me by throwing a shuriken but I simply catch it with my hand and crush it. Everyone goes pale at what I did.

Rio: "Kill everyone here but Kingpin and Nathaniel Richards."

The grunts raise their weapons and open fire Stick manages to kill a few grunts while trying to get to me before he is killed just a few feet from me. Nathaniel Richards or the Hydra agent kills himself instead of being captured. I care little since I can simply resurrect him later.

Rio: "Kingpin let's go to your office to discuss terms. This place is a bit too messy."

Kingpin nods and we go to his office to discuss his terms of surrender.

Authors Note:

Kingpin is spared for now but only because Rio intends on using him to gather things he needs and also so Kingpin can be a public puppet for Team Rocket. I want to clarify that Rio has only destroyed 98% of Organized Crime not criminals in general. So there are still a lot of criminals left in the world. But almost every gang or crime family is gone and the 2% remaining is mostly in Russia and China as they are either too chaotic for Rio to mess with or Rio is fine with letting them continue. The 10 Rings are the major crime organization in China but they have hooks everywhere. Until next time Ciao.
