Chapter 331: Not Again
Back in Belthias City, the monkey was left behind inside the Beggar Spot with an order not to go out.
At first, when Bubba heard the order, he was against it, but after being reminded of the torture he would face if he caused another trouble, he had no choice but to follow his Master's arrangement.
Stay behind and cultivate. That small human wanted him to increase his cultivation as high as he could before they came back.
Was it an easy task? Yes! But what was not easy was staying in one spot and cultivating for hours—that was so boring!
Bubba, who was sitting under the makeshift roof inside the Beggar Spot, opened his eyes before letting out a sigh.
"This is frustrating," Bubba couldn't help but mutter while spitting on the ground. "I didn't even do anything! I got kidnapped, and that son of a b*tch decided to punish me?! This is unfair!"
All he did was eat and was about to have the best time of his life when that old man came out of nowhere, claiming him as his pet!
Not only did he not get to say much and defend himself, but he was also severely punished because of it!
What did he do wrong? Just because he went out?!
"Once I become stronger, I'm the one who's going to punish him!" Bubba said to himself, his eyes burning with intense determination. Although he didn't know the reason why that companion of his wanted him to become strong, he finally had his own personal reason—to get back at that d*mn small human!
As he was thinking about his plan, he unknowingly let out his cultivation, and the surrounding air started churning. The pressure even made the atmosphere turn cold.
"Ah, what's happening?!" Bubba shouted when he suddenly felt the change in temperature. He ran out from under the makeshift roof and began jumping around the place.
It took him a while to realize that it was because he was letting out his cultivation stage.
Bubba stopped before closing his eyes to recall the technique—the Revised Simple Breathing Technique—inside his mind.
This technique contained basic cultivation knowledge, including the cultivation stages.
After a while, Bubba opened his eyes. "I'm already at the 4th-Step Foundation Building stage? Cultivation is really easy!"
Bubba couldn't help but feel happy. But when he thought about defeating Apollo, his happiness didn't last long.
Can I defeat him with this strength? Bubba began to think, but with his limited experience, his eyes brightened, and confidence erupted from him. "This is enough! With this strength, I will show him who the true boss is!"
As revenge burned within him, he realized another matter. I can finally go out!
After cultivating for hours without moving an inch, Bubba was tempted to disregard his Master's orders.
As long as I do it secretly and no one sees me, he will never find out that I sneaked out, Bubba thought. With his cuteness, he should be able to convince that small human that he would behave.
With this in mind, Bubba glanced over the Beggar Spot before happily making his way out.
The afternoon sun hit his face, and he saw people walking about the street. Bubba's smile stretched from ear to ear—he could finally taste freedom! It was only for a few hours, but it felt like an eternity!
But something happened the moment his small feet touched the street.
A silhouette loomed over him, casting a shadow on Bubba.
Looking up, the monkey saw a familiar man. He had seen this man somewhere before, but he couldn't pinpoint where.
Sir Guo raised his bamboo hat, revealing his face to the monkey. "Hello there."
"Who are you?" Bubba asked, but what came out of his mouth was his monkey voice. "Oh, right, he can't understand me."
"Where is your Master?" Sir Guo asked as he tried to peer inside the corner of the restaurant. But as usual, his senses were blocked by an invisible force he couldn't quite understand.
He looked down and saw the monkey shaking his head.
"Not here?" the bamboo-hat man asked.
Bubba answered with a nod.
"So he's here?" Sir Guo asked once more.
"Didn't I tell you he's not here?" Bubba glared at the bamboo-hat man before shaking his head. "Not here!"
Seeing the monkey shaking his head, a frown appeared on Sir Guo's face. "Tell me, is Yoma here or not?"
"What the f*ck, old man?! Can't you understand me?!" Bubba began shouting furiously at Sir Guo in his high-pitched voice, causing bystanders to look in their direction. "I said not here! He is not here!"
The monkey began shaking his head like crazy.
"Don't play with me," Sir Guo said, his face long since darkened. "Is he here or not?!"
"How am I supposed to answer that?!" Bubba was starting to lose his mind. He nodded his head, then shook it the next second, but this only confused the bamboo-hat cultivator more.
"Stop!" Sir Guo raised a hand, signaling for the monkey not to move. His forehead ached in pain. "I will rephrase my question. If Yoma is not here, nod your head. If he is here, shake your head."
"You're making things difficult, old man," Bubba said with a sigh. Still, he nodded his head.
"Okay, so he is not here," Sir Guo said as the confusing matter was finally settled.
Seeing that the bamboo-hat man had understood him, Bubba shook his head off and began walking with his hands behind his back.
Now that he was strong, he shouldn't bother himself with this weak old man who wasn't smart enough to understand a monkey.
But after taking a few steps, the world became a blur. Blinking a few times, Bubba realized he was back in front of the bamboo-hat man.
"What happened?" Bubba looked confused. Shaking his head, he walked away from the old man once more. However, it happened again—the world became a blur, and he reappeared in front of the bamboo-hat man.
"Hey," Sir Guo said to the confused monkey. "You can't walk away yet. I have something for your Master."
Sir Guo took out something from under his sleeve before handing it to the monkey.
Bubba glanced at the outstretched hand and saw a small black stick that couldn't even take up half of Sir Guo's palm.
"A stick? For my Master?" Bubba muttered.
Sir Guo couldn't understand the monkey, but he could see the condescending eyes, clearly not impressed by the stick. "Don't underestimate this stick. It's crafted from the bones of a very rare Monkereaper—your ancestor. I know he has a pet monkey, so I specifically requested the bones. I think he will like my gift."
Bubba's eyes widened upon hearing the explanation. Ancestor? Monkereaper? That sounds super cool!
The monkey began jumping up and down in excitement. However, just as he was about to take the 'stick,' Sir Guo pulled back his hand.
"The way you behave, it seems to me that giving this to you is going to be trouble," Sir Guo realized, seeing the greedy eyes on the monkey. Even without knowing how the stick worked, this monkey was behaving like it was the greatest artifact ever. It was like looking at a child about to be handed a sword. "I changed my mind. I will personally hand the stick over."
"No! No! Give it to me!" Bubba latched onto the bamboo-hat man's pants, even rubbing his head affectionately.
Seeing this, Sir Guo sighed. "You want to come with me?"
"When did I say that?" Bubba looked up, surprised, but before he knew it, he was already in the hands of the bamboo-hat man.
"Then you will follow me. We will meet with your Master in a few days," Sir Guo said.
