Becoming a God Starts with Acting

Chapter 214: [The Infinite Train] – Degenerate’s Part (END)

"You... Aurora..." Asta stammered, but he couldn't say a single word in the end.

He had never imagined that the woman he loved would become a god!

Maybe he should feel happy that they were all saved, but... but... what about him? What about his love?!

Asta couldn't help thinking that it was a bit old-fashioned.

At that moment, Aurora suddenly bent down and gently helped Asta, using no effort.

Ron and Nyx, planning to step forward, stopped when they saw that.

Asta looked blankly at Degenerate, then his knees suddenly gave way. He dropped to one knee and looked up, his eyes full of sincerity.

Degenerate raised an eyebrow slightly, and the others seemed to realize something as well.

"What the hell is he doing, proposing to a god?"

Outside, Drake couldn't hold back and burst out laughing.

Fiona, beside him, couldn't help but say, "Ron looks like he just got dumped."

"Hahahahaha!"

Layla quietly held her forehead. Rather than finding it funny, she was more worried about their fates.

She hadn't expected Asta to be this "bold," kneeling without a trace of hesitation.

She could only hope this seemingly easygoing goddess wouldn't make things difficult for humanity after this.

"Asta!"

Ron frowned and couldn't help yelling.

The others stared at Asta in disbelief, wanting to stop him but glancing over at Degenerate, not daring to move forward.

"Aurora, I love you. You said you'd find me once we got out of this dungeon. You have feelings for me, too, don't you? I'm sure of it. Will you accept my confession? I love you!" Asta declared loudly, as if speaking louder would give him more courage.

Aurora laughed when she heard that.

"Even knowing I'm a god, you still love me? Your feelings won't change?"

"Never." Asta stared straight at Aurora, and even when facing her emotionless emerald eyes, he didn't look away.

At the same time, Asta seemed to sense something — a connection formed between him and Aurora.

His eyes widened as he stared at her in astonishment.

"From now on, you'll be my foremost believer. Call me Degenerate," Aurora confirmed, answering Asta's unspoken question.

Asta frowned.

"No. You're just Aurora. To me, you'll always be Aurora. I'll love you no matter what you are."

Ah, such a confession could make any girl's heart flutter.

Degenerate smiled, light flickering in her eyes with amused interest.

She stepped forward and took Asta's hand, forcing him to stand.

Before Asta could react, his hand suddenly touched something soft.

At that moment, Asta and everyone else stood frozen in shock, eyes round as saucers and jaws practically hitting the floor.

Asta felt a surge of heat shoot from his hand and spread throughout his entire body, rising to his head as though his veins were about to explode.

He turned into an overripe tomato, ears ringing with the whistle of a boiling kettle, and it felt like his brain had started steaming from CPU overload.

Sure, he'd touched other girls' bodies before — heck, he'd even buried his face in that area before and had a grand old time.

But with Aurora...

No.

This was blasphemy!

Sensing Asta's hand, stiff as a corpse, Degenerate suddenly smiled, her gaze dark and deep: "What's wrong? You don't like it?"

How could Asta dare say no? He immediately answered obediently, "L-Like…"

At that moment, he felt a rush of heat surge from his brain to his nose. His eyes flew open, and he hastily raised his free hand to cover his nose—but it couldn't stop the blood gushing out.

Everyone: "..."

[Unbelievable. Why is this god so easygoing? Don't tell me Degenerate likes Asta too—unacceptable!]

[Yeah! She should've liked me! Asta's just a human!]

[I already started shipping her with Prophet... a 2-meter CEO lady x socially anxious mushroom, hahaha]

"Ha ha."

As if something amusing crossed her mind, Degenerate suddenly chuckled, then forcibly guided Asta's hand further down.

"W-Wait, wait a second!" Asta shouted instinctively, as though he'd figured out what Aurora was trying to do—but he wasn't ready!

Gods—are all deities this bold?!

Ron and the others froze in place too, feeling like something inside them had just shattered—their entire beings stiffened in disbelief!

Ron opened his mouth to object, while Asta started screaming frantically, "No, this is way too fast! Aurora, can't we go somewhere more private?!"

Damn it, Asta! Even now, are you still thinking about that?!

It wasn't just Ron—everyone watching from outside the dungeon wanted to snap Asta's neck then and there.

But no one expected the god to be like this either—she was giving Asta a run for his money!

"Ha ha, what's there to be afraid of? We're the same, aren't we?"

Degenerate suddenly laughed, her tone genuine.

Before Asta could even register what she meant, his hand made contact with that—

That thing that he also had...

"Th-This…" Asta's face contorted in panic, his facial muscles twitching as if his expressions were no longer under his control.

"AAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Asta screamed at the top of his lungs and yanked Degenerate's hand away with all his strength, causing him to fall flat on the ground from the momentum.

He didn't even care about the pain—he just kept rubbing his hands frantically on his clothes, feeling like he'd been defiled!

God, he'd just touched that thing on another man?!

At that moment, Degenerate suddenly bent over and looked down at Asta, grinning cheerfully:

"What's wrong? I thought you'd enjoy it no matter what. Are you being gender-discriminatory now?"

Her voice wasn't female this time—it was low, deep, and drifting!

Asta was speechless. Then he started crying. Real tears. A picture of despair.

"HAHAHA!"

Degenerate didn't show the slightest hint of pity. On the contrary, he burst out laughing.

The comment section instantly blew up.

[Are you serious? There's no "most perverted," only "more perverted." I thought Nerio was already the worst.]

[What the hell?! Asta, please double-check!]

[Huhuhu my waifu?!]

[I'm not watching this show anymore!]

[There's no "hotter," only the hottest. This femboy is mine now. Goodbye, brothers.]

[If it's a femboy, at least make it a cute femboy.]

[NO! I want a cute furry femboy! Degenerate's just a face and nothing else!]

Oh no... maybe this went too far.

Silvanus thought to himself. These comments were getting harder and harder to stomach—so salty they felt like they were marinated in the ocean. He feared that his soul might get twisted if this kept up.

The Acting System faintly caught Silvanus's current thoughts and could only silently mutter to itself—you're already twisted enough as it is.

"Boom! Boom! BOOM!"

Right at that moment, the entire train suddenly shook violently. Degenerate temporarily set aside the pleasure of teasing her follower and looked up. The roof of the train had disappeared. Above them, a vivid red magic circle had materialized, and crimson light rapidly spread across the train!

"Hahaha! I like you—I still really like you!"

Lilith's voice thundered, shaking the entire sky.

"But you hurt me so much! Don't worry, none of you will be reaching Watson Town. Come visit my place instead—it's way more fun at my house!"

Her laughter was shrill, even louder than thunder. It was as though she were a giant outside of this world, peeking in from beyond.

As her voice faded, the train ceiling vanished utterly, and the humans inside were pulled into the air.

"Grab onto anything you can!" Ron shouted. But with their meager strength, there was no way to resist the power pulling them.

"Tsk."

Degenerate clicked her tongue, then grinned: "Come now, little believers—pray. I'll save you all."

Everyone turned to look. Degenerate was now seated on a throne forged from hellfire beneath his feet. His eyes were relaxed, filled with amusement as he watched the spectacle before him. Just like before, he didn't care how many people had died—he was only here to play his cruel little joke, to steal people's hearts.

It was the first time Ron had ever found a god so infuriating. But even now, he couldn't help but shout toward Asta.

"We can't die, Asta!"

No, dying would be better.

Asta—who had just tasted heartbreak for the first time—no longer wanted to live. That was truly what he thought.

Ron wished he could kick Asta in the head then and there. Why did Degenerate choose someone whose brain is 90% romance?!

If Degenerate had chosen him… yes, if he had been selected, he would be pleading rationally by now!

"Just kidding. As if anyone could take you away while I'm still here."

Just as the humans were sinking into utter despair, Degenerate's voice rang out again—like the voice of heaven.

The chair behind him suddenly vanished, and Degenerate fell into the hellfire below.

Smiling—he was smiling.

"BOOM! CRASH!"

The entire dungeon trembled. Countless wings suddenly burst forth from the fire, wrapping around Degenerate. The feathers were pure white, immaculate—opposite the flames and his name.

He had fully transformed. His clothing had turned white, accented with meticulous gold details. The radiant light pouring off him was so intense it blinded the eyes.

His bright white hair began to glow, and three pairs of pure white wings sprouted from the back of his neck. One pair covered his eyes perfectly, the top pair stood erect, and the bottom pair drooped gently, brushing against his flawless face.

Degenerate's lips curved with joy:

"Come now—this entire place, come with me!"

"BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Lilith screamed in agony, furious yet unable to escape. The dungeon began to decompose—yes, decompose—like a rotting piece of meat, slowly turning into a swamp of sludge.

"Nyx, you..."

Ron muttered, dazed, staring at his own hands—his body was also starting to decay, to rot. They were merging into the earth, dying—dying in pain beyond words.

Up in the sky, a golden-rimmed eye with a mint iris and a vivid red pupil opened wide. It pierced through the black clouds, darting across all of them, then narrowed in delight. Within that colossal eye was boundless amusement, as though the scene before it had pleased it immensely.

"Ha ha ha! Ha ha ha!"

"Ha ha ha!"

"Ha ha ha!"

Ron didn't know who started laughing first, but he laughed too. He was laughing. His mind felt shattered into countless fragments. Everything before him was warped and grotesque—perhaps even his eyeballs had begun to rot. The earth was decaying, and so were they. Ha ha ha...

He could no longer feel anything.

Could no longer feel... anything.
