Chapter 105

Become Overpowered CEO of Hero Clan – 105

The Nexus Jet flew for a long time before descending into a steep mountain range. Isaac disembarked from the Lever and entered a nearby cave, driving out the monsters that inhabited it.
In his right hand, he held the Karna Blade, which vibrated intensely, as if trying to escape his grasp. Holding the sword tightly with his right hand, he used his left hand to set up a disc and deploy a protective shield. Only then did he release his grip on the sword.
With a swoosh, the Karna Blade shot into the air and began slashing and stabbing the cave walls wildly.
“Oh, oh, oh!”
Startled by the Karna Blade’s erratic movements, Isaac stepped back and pulled out another disc, surrounding himself with an additional shield to protect himself from the rogue sword.
The hilt and scabbard of the Karna Blade were engraved with the complete form of a demonic figure, as if a demon had possessed it.
“Is it a cursed sword?”
Isaac’s expression grew serious. Anyone would be alarmed if a sword they had been using suddenly started flying around and attacking the walls.
How could he continue to use a sword that could go out of control at any moment?
At that moment, a bird of blue flame popped out from Isaac’s chest.
“Master, look closely. Those are drawings.”
“It seems so.”
As the light illuminated the cave, the Karna Blade appeared to be drawing something resembling feathers. It was better than aimless slashing.
The Karna Blade continued to draw tirelessly. Isaac stood and watched the sword’s antics, which did not stop even after an hour.
The drawings were still just images of feathers, and it seemed it would take a long time to complete.
With a clang, the Karna Blade finally fell to the ground after over an hour, exhausted.
Isaac left the sword on the cave floor for five minutes, observing for any unusual phenomena. Seeing none, he cautiously retrieved the sword.
The once-vibrant blade now lay dull and lifeless, devoid of any light or vibration. The abundant magical energy it once held was completely depleted.
“Is it really a cursed sword?”
Isaac muttered anxiously as he observed the sinister form of the Karna Blade. The demonic engravings on the hilt and the eerie handprints on the scabbard made him uneasy. After the chaos he had just experienced, he felt a growing aversion to the sword. He wondered if it was safe to keep pouring magical energy into a blade that could go berserk and slash the cave walls on its own.
“Do you know what the drawing is?”
“I do not. It seems the sword needs to absorb more magical energy to complete the drawing.”
“Will it do this periodically?”
“Probably. That drawing might be the true purpose of the Karna Blade. Judging by the technique, it seems an ancient monk or ascendant placed a special spell on it.”
Isaac stared blankly at the mural of feathers on the cave wall. After a moment, he shook his head and murmured, “Status window.”
He seemed quite pleased with the numbers displayed before him.
“163,400 points.”
This was the unintended result of slaying thousands of monsters. Isaac gently touched one side of the status window floating before him. Familiar options appeared in a list.
〈Spin the Roulette〉
[Bronze Roulette: 500P]
[Silver Roulette: 1,000P]
[Gold Roulette: 5,000P]
[Platinum Roulette: 20,000P]
[Diamond Roulette: 100,000P]
[Master Roulette: 500,000P]
“Another daily skill, I bet.”
Isaac closed his eyes and fell into deep thought. So far, the roulette had only rewarded him with ‘daily skills.’ Caffeine Addiction, Bookworm, and Nightly Study were among them. These skills had allowed him to manage his skyrocketing stress effectively and achieve remarkable progress in his studies of magical engineering.
“What would be the best choice?”
Isaac couldn’t easily make a decision. Should he spin the Diamond Roulette for 100,000 points or several Platinum Roulettes? The options were varied, but fundamentally, the roulette was a gamble. Everything depended on luck.
“I’ll hold off for now.”
If he spun the Diamond Roulette and got another ‘stress management’ skill, he would be sorely disappointed. Coffee, meditation, and reading were already managing his stress quite well.
More importantly, the Cross technique inherently included the effects of meditation, as it was a method used by monks to accumulate their spiritual power.
“In the end, it’s a tremendous gain.”
Isaac closed the status window and opened his inventory. As he examined the various items, a range of emotions flickered across his face.
The Frost Queen was an Emperor-class monster with two legendary-grade mutations, each at level 3. While not the strongest among Emperor-class beings, she ruled the ice fortress in the polar regions and dropped unique treasures befitting her status.
One of these treasures was the ‘Frost Orb,’ which was crafted and enhanced over a lifetime by the Arctic Fox monsters, the Chillrends.
“Brr, it’s cold.”
Isaac grimaced as he pulled the Frost Orb from the void and quickly shoved it back into his inventory.
The Frost Orb dropped by the Queen was, of course, a legendary-grade weapon. It could be used by heroes immediately after being purified by a cleanser, without any additional processing.
Isaac considered purifying it and selling it at a high price, or perhaps giving it to Seo Eun-ha, a hero. The Frost Orb was an unparalleled treasure for nature-based ranged attackers, especially those who wielded ice or water. Even just for its secondary options like increased magic regeneration and spell power, it was invaluable.
“I’ll need a blueprint for this.”
Another significant item obtained from the Queen was the ‘Storm Tail.’ The Chillrends’ tails contained the power to ward off cold and control weather phenomena. If he could find a blueprint, he could potentially craft a legendary-grade weapon.
“I still don’t get it.”
After reviewing his abundant harvest, Isaac approached the wall where the Karna Blade had etched its drawing. Despite his scrutiny, all he could see were mysterious feathers.
“Hmm.”
Losing interest in the drawing, he began to pace, deep in thought. His survival skills heavily relied on his commander skills, and he was always strategizing to adapt to various variables.
His latest strategy had yielded excellent results. By purifying the Queen in one strike, he had completely subdued the monsters.
“Let’s do it.”
However, this time, Isaac’s dilemma was not about survival but whether or not to spin the roulette.
Hoarding resources wasn’t always the best strategy. And in his hazy blue eyes, a glint of confidence shone.
His previous experience of acquiring a large number of points in an unusual way had instilled in him a bold decisiveness.
“Let’s go!”
Isaac chose the Diamond Roulette, which cost a hefty 100,000 points, and pulled the lever without hesitation.
– Whirr, whirr, whirr. -`
Most of the slots were golden, with a few red ones visible. There was no sign of any purple slots.
“What’s the red one?”
As he pondered the unfamiliar color, the spinning roulette suddenly came to a halt.
– Click! –
「Language Decipherer」
▶ Category: Skill ⇨ Daily Skill
▶ Grade: Ancient
▶ Effect: Deciphers unknown languages.
“Hmm.”
Isaac narrowed his eyes as he read the straightforward description of the everyday skill he had drawn from the Diamond Roulette, Language Decipherer. While it seemed incredibly useful for interpreting various ancient languages and uncovering archaeological secrets, the extent of its benefits would depend entirely on how Isaac utilized it.
“Ancient is unfamiliar.”
With a wry smile, Isaac tilted his head. Beyond the common, rare, heroic, and legendary grades, there were also ‘Hidden,’ ‘Only One,’ and ‘Unique’ grades, though these were highly specialized and not part of a standardized system.
“Anyway, it seems higher than legendary.”
Isaac concluded that the red Ancient grade was a tier above the golden Legendary grade. Since there were far fewer red slots than golden ones on the roulette, he believed his assessment was correct.
It was a much better outcome than drawing a legendary-grade skill for 100,000 points.
“At least there’s that.”
Isaac closed his eyes and focused his mind, trying to recall the ancient characters shown by the crucian carp at the pond. However, realizing that the Karna Blade was devoid of magical energy, he let out a dry laugh.
He had intended to use the Cross technique to recall the ancient texts, but without any magical energy, he failed.
“Let’s take a break.”
With a soft whir, Isaac summoned the Nexus Jet into the spacious cave and climbed aboard with weary steps. He didn’t move from the spot until late into the night.
Occasionally, faint sounds of snoring could be heard coming from inside the Lever.

On a night when two moons overlapped, the Plains of Ruin, which had once suffered a great disaster, were now meticulously organized. The banquet hall was adorned with splendid decorations, and on its outskirts, tens of thousands of monsters stood in formation, exuding a majestic aura.
– Thud— Thud—! –
Soon, the powerful sound of drums echoed. Outside the banquet hall, Chief Timberlord and the Lion King stood ready to welcome the imminent arrival of a great being.
– Roar…! –
Before long, a massive figure began to emerge from the distant sky. As it drew closer, it revealed itself to be a gigantic eagle monster, hundreds of meters in length.
At the sight of the giant eagle, the monsters below bowed their heads in unison, not daring to meet the gaze of the being above.
– Flap— Flap—! –
With powerful wingbeats, the giant eagle monster landed in the center of the banquet hall.
– Boom! –
The ground shook as if an earthquake had struck when the massive creature touched down. The giant eagle surveyed the surroundings with fierce eyes before addressing Chief Timberlord in a questioning tone.
“Minion, has an Ethereal been here?”
“Great Eaglemaw, we are honored by your presence! It is true that an Ethereal visited. They dared to launch a surprise attack, seeking the tribute meant for you, but we, your loyal servants, drove them all away with our burning devotion.”
“Ho, is that so? Judging by the lingering aura, at least a hundred five-star Ethereals and three Awakened must have attacked. Are you saying such a powerful force exists in this small world?”

“They came from a neighboring realm called ‘Earth.’ At the next tribute ceremony, we will offer their spirits to satisfy you, Great Eaglemaw!”
“Hahaha! Speak the truth. If your Ligno Giant tribe had faced such elite Ethereal forces, you should have suffered near-extinction. Yet, most of you are still alive. You must have made some deal with the Ethereal elites in exchange for a peace agreement. I will overlook it this time, but do not lie to me again!”
“I-I apologize! You are right, Great Eaglemaw. I will report the details inside.”
“There is no need. Even though you are minions, you have ruled them for 800 years. I will overlook this incident in recognition of your efforts.”
“We are deeply moved by your boundless generosity, Great Eaglemaw!”
The scene shifted, leaving the banquet hall and its grandiose atmosphere behind.
