Become Overpowered CEO of Hero Clan

Chapter 099

Become Overpowered CEO of Hero Clan – 099

This is a big problem. He has been caught up in a dangerous incident.
‘There was no other way.’
The threat from the tree giant that dozens of Lord-class Ligno Giants would swarm in was surely real. Didn’t he see it? The tree giant moving through the water veins at an incredible speed.
“Great Timberlord, we have brought the outsiders.”
“Well done. You may leave now and perform the ritual.”
“I will obey.”
A Lord-class Ligno Giant, who had shrunk to the size of an adult man, brought Isaac and his party before the green-haired chieftain. The chieftain’s level was 98. He was an Emperor-class monster with two legendary-grade mutations.
‘This is bad.’
The chieftain of the Ligno Giant tribe, Timberlord. One of the strongest in the other world. He welcomed Isaac and his companions in a perfectly human form.
– Creepy! –
As Isaac observed him, the chieftain also scrutinized Isaac.
The moment the chieftain’s eyes glinted, Isaac felt as though everything about him had been seen through. The chieftain must have gauged his strength using some form of sensory power.
‘I’ll make the first move.’
The tree giant seemed to hint that he had something to ask for. Isaac needed to inflate his value before sitting at the negotiation table. Given his experiences, “acting tough” had become Isaac’s basic strategy.
“You have two legendary-grade mutations, and both are quite advanced. You must be among the stronger of the Emperors.”
“…Hahaha, so they say you’re an awakened one. You must have learned some special magic to sense mutations.”
The chieftain couldn’t shake the feeling of having been at a disadvantage. His opponent had fully assessed his strength, yet he couldn’t sense any spiritual power from Isaac.
The human the elder brought, claiming he was awakened, didn’t seem to be ethereal at all.
‘What trick is he using?’
A human whom even the sensory powers of Timberlord, an Emperor-class monster, couldn’t decipher. He might be ominous, but he was valuable enough to use.
“I have a short temper. What kind of deal did you go to such trouble to propose?”
“That will be discussed in time. By the way, we found two more human groups nearby. Are they with you?”
“Most likely. Please guide them safely here.”
“Will do. Shall we chat until your companions arrive? I heard you are very interested in magic engineering and our world.”
“Sure. I will let my team rest inside Lever. They seem frightened by the unfamiliar surroundings.”
“Haha, as you wish.”
Isaac summoned the Nexus Jet to let his team rest and followed the chieftain into a house carved out of a massive tree trunk.
The surrounding area was quite elevated, but the dense foliage-covered terrain was actually a massive stump with a radius of tens of kilometers.
The lower part of the huge stump was submerged in a blue river, and the outer area was formed by jagged mountains, making this place a sort of basin.
‘Is that the Guardian Tree?’
The giant purple tree standing at the center of the village was a spectacular sight. The tree’s height seemed to be at least 1,000 meters, and its thick roots pierced through the stump, firmly anchoring the village.

Isaac had many conversations with the chieftain, Timberlord. He asked about the various magical techniques used by the Ligno Giants and the ecology of the other world, which was unknown to Earth’s civilization. Judging Isaac to be an extraordinary individual, the chieftain provided him with a basic spellbook, a scroll detailing the history, power dynamics, language, and environment of the small world.
Isaac didn’t just receive, he shared. He gathered general information about Earth, had it compiled by an AI, and transferred it to a USB drive, which he handed over. For the Ligno Giants, whose magic engineering was highly advanced, reading electronic data was no challenge.
“We will someday conquer this small world and surpass the Celestial Canopy. To do so, we must defend this screaming land, rich in negative energy.”
“You have great ambitions. Escaping the veil is only possible when a powerful ruling species, which has unified the world, can utilize all resources of the world.”

“You are very knowledgeable. You do not seem like an ordinary person from an neighboring world. Have you been wandering the other world for a long time, strengthening your spirit?”
“That’s roughly correct. You can understand it that way.”
Isaac made a strong impression on the chieftain. In other world where Ethereals were nearly extinct after a long ancient war, he was the first awakened one who communicated so well.
“Haha, I never thought a day would come when I would have such a meaningful conversation with a human.”
“The feeling is mutual. The sand spirits we encountered on our way to the screaming land were not very communicative.”
“You mean the Sand Specters? They are insignificant in power but quite bothersome to deal with. Did you have a confrontation with them?”
“I purified a sand spirit that had merged from six.”
“Kahahaha! You have dealt with the Dunesix Guardians they pride themselves on. Normally, these sand spirits have almost no intelligence, but when they merge, they become sly old foxes. Well done.”
The human and the monster continued their conversation cheerfully. To an observer, it would seem like old friends catching up.
The monster praised the human’s heroic deeds, and the human marveled at the monster’s vast knowledge.
On the surface, at least.
‘First, I need to gain his favor to use him.’
‘Pretend to be close.’
Hiding their true intentions was fundamental for different species.
“Great Timberlord, we have brought the outsiders.”
Soon after, Flame Emperor and Yoho, also captured by the Lord-class tree giants, arrived at the giant stump.
The two S-class heroes were quite surprised to see Isaac sitting and conversing with the Emperor-class tree giant chieftain. They thought it was all over, but their expedition leader was interacting with the monster leader.
They felt a slight sense of betrayal but did not show it.
“Hm, 5-star. Now that your subordinates are gathered, let me tell you the secret of the screaming land.”
Chieftain Timberlord, picking up a snack that looked like cinnamon, lowered his voice seriously.
“Once every 100 years, there is an entity that crosses the Celestial Canopy, which separates the small world from the outside world, to collect a large tribute from our Ligno Giant tribe. Because this screaming land is on the outskirts of the small world, the constraints of the veil are relatively weak.”
“Outside the Veil? If it’s an entity collecting tribute from Terraria, it must be a Tier 2 monster.”
“That’s correct! To think you even know about the vast Terraria beyond the Veil. You must have quite an interest in archaeology.”
“Indeed, I do.”
“Then there’s no need to elaborate further on our situation. Our Ligno Giant tribe plans to eliminate that Tier 2 monster when it returns to the screaming land. If you assist us in this endeavor, we will gladly provide you with the medicinal ingredients you desire.”
The heroes, including Yoho and Flame Emperor, were stunned by the conversation between Isaac and Timberlord. The concepts of the small world, Celestial Canopy, and Terraria were still foreign to Earth’s civilization.
Moreover, a Tier 2 monster was something archaeologists theorized about from ancient artifacts, often considered mythical.
“I don’t intend to risk my life for mere ingredients. What exactly is this monster’s class? If it’s a common Tier 2, we might have a chance, but if it’s anything more, not even your entire tribe could handle it.”
“It is a Tier 2 rare variant known as Eaglemaw, a giant bird-like monster resembling an eagle.”
“A Tier 2 variant? Do you think it’s possible to subdue it?”
“Would I be making this proposal if we didn’t have a plan? Along with the constraints of the Veil, we have prepared a special method to bind it. Though this is the outskirts of the small world, it cannot be completely free from the Celestial Canopy’s constraints. We anticipated your arrival and planned accordingly, to prevent outside interference and to gain your assistance. It’s a more practical approach to give you the materials you need and join forces.”
“You’re very confident. If you’re so certain, I see no reason not to help, but I have conditions.”
“Please, state them.”
“I can handle Eaglemaw alone. The rest of my team should be sent back to Earth with the medicinal ingredients first.”
The heroes felt both grateful and uneasy about Isaac’s consideration. Though they felt guilty about letting Isaac shoulder the burden alone, their instinct was to prioritize their own survival.
“We can’t leave you alone, Isaac….”
Yoho and Flame Emperor tried to protest, but Isaac raised his hand to stop them.
“This isn’t up for debate. Your safety is my priority. You’ll return to Earth with the ingredients, and I’ll take care of Eaglemaw.”
Timberlord watched the exchange silently, weighing his options. Finally, he nodded.
“Very well. We will prepare a way to send your companions back to Earth with the ingredients. In return, you will assist us in defeating Eaglemaw.”
The deal was struck, and the tension in the room eased slightly. The heroes were relieved to be returning to safety but also felt the weight of the responsibility Isaac was taking on.
“Thank you, Isaac. We owe you our lives,” Flame Emperor said, bowing his head.
Isaac gave a small smile.
“Just make sure you make it back safely. We’ll meet again soon.”
With that, preparations began to send the heroes back to Earth, while Isaac stayed behind to face the looming threat of Eaglemaw alongside the Ligno Giant tribe.
The righteous Flame Emperor shouted, embodying his heroic spirit. No matter what, he could not leave a comrade alone in such a dangerous place as the Screaming land, especially not a fellow hero.
Several other heroes from the Harmony Clan’s squad felt the same way.
“Flame Emperor, do not forget our mission. We accepted this task, and the virtue of a hero lies in fulfilling it. Moreover, you would be of no help in the fight against a Tier 2 Eaglemaw. It is wiser to return early than to become a burden.”
“Th-That’s….”
“Hahaha! I haven’t yet decided whether to accept the conditions,” Timberlord laughed heartily, observing the scene of loyalty akin to that of a vassal to their lord. His eyes curved into a peculiar crescent shape.
Although a 5-star Ethereal couldn’t compare to an Awakened one, the Ligno Giant tribe, with a population of over ten billion, only had eighty Lord-class individuals. They could not afford to lose even one capable fighter.
“There are comrades on Earth eagerly awaiting the elixir of immortality. Also, we are about to engage in a war at the national level. I decided to help your tribe at such a crucial time, so please do not hinder us.”
“In that case, it is time to verify your capabilities. To confidently set conditions in our tribe’s sacred ground, I am curious if you are truly qualified.”
Business was business, and personal matters were separate.
Even if the humans had enjoyable exchanges, to defeat the Tier 2 Eaglemaw, they needed not just 5-star Ethereals but also 3-star ones. Using them as cannon fodder could save the lives of the Lord-class Ligno Giants.
No matter how awakened Isaac was, this was the heart of the Screaming land. Whether they would be allowed to leave safely depended entirely on Chieftain Timberlord’s will.
“If that’s what you wish, I will oblige. However, I am not one to engage in trivial duels. Instead, I will summon my familiar to fight on my behalf. Shall we see how it fares?”
“Hahaha! A mere familiar? An intriguing proposal. Then I will also have one of my warriors fight on our behalf. If your familiar wins, I will send the remaining Ethereals back as you requested.”
“I hope you are a man of your word. Lead me to a suitable location.”
Timberlord nodded and gestured for them to follow. They moved to an open area within the giant stump village, a place suited for combat.
Isaac prepared himself, knowing this duel could determine the fate of his comrades. He summoned his familiar, ready to prove their worth and secure the ingredients they desperately needed.
