Beautiful CEO's Super Expert

Chapter 230 An Encounter on the Way

"Okay, I'll notify him to bring the boat over now."

The man said and then made another phone call.

Afterward, he and Su Chen leaned against the car door and waited.

"Come have a smoke," the man offered Su Chen a cigarette, "The quality isn't the best, don't mind it."

Su Chen stood to earn over ten thousand from this deal alone, so naturally, he was very enthusiastic and attentive.

"Not at all," Su Chen said as he took the cigarette, which cost about a dozen or so renminbi a pack—not too bad.

But Su Chen didn't care about it since sometimes he would make do with smoking rolled-up leaves.

Just as they finished their cigarettes, a rumbling noise approached.

"Here it comes!"

The man threw his cigarette butt on the ground and started running forward, with Su Chen following behind.

"Lao Yu, that was quick!"

"Of course, didn't you say the client was in a hurry?"

In their line of work, there was a rule to never ask clients about their reasons.

"Lao Yu, this is the young brother here," said the man as he introduced them.

"This is Lao Yu, he'll be the one to take you."

"Hello!"

Lao Yu walked forward and extended his hand.

"Thank you for this," Su Chen replied, shaking hands with him. Lao Yu's hand was very rough.

Su Chen couldn't help but size up the man, who was darker than the man he'd just been with and seemed to be in his forties, with wrinkles already etched onto his face.

"No trouble at all, please come aboard. However, there are already two other guests on the boat, they had booked earlier," Lao Yu said apologetically.

"No problem," Su Chen gestured with his hand and then boarded the boat...

The vessel Su Chen boarded was a fishing boat; of course, unlike the ones in fishing villages, this one was powered, otherwise, it would take forever to reach the South Sea!

After boarding, Su Chen encountered the two guests mentioned by Lao Yu. It was a man and a woman, huddling close together, appearing very intimate.

The pair seemed well-matched, the man handsome and distinguished; the woman beautiful and shapely.

However, Su Chen's brow furrowed slightly, for he detected the scent of blood and medicinal herbs in the air.

Clearly, at least one of them was injured, possibly both.

Still, as strangers, Su Chen did not inquire further but merely nodded in acknowledgment. The couple nodded back, and then everyone fell silent.

At night, all that could be heard was the sound of the fishing boat cutting through the waves and the howling sea wind.

The couple seemed noticeably cold, huddling even closer together and shivering uncontrollably; sleep was nearly impossible in such conditions.

"Here, use this to cover your girlfriend," Su Chen offered, taking off his jacket and handing it to the man. The cold was nothing to Su Chen.

The man and woman were initially surprised by Su Chen's gesture, then their faces turned shyly red with embarrassment.

"Thank you!"

The man took Su Chen's jacket and carefully draped it over the woman.

With this exchange, the awkwardness among them lessened.

"Sir, where might you be headed?" the man asked.

"Africa."

Su Chen pulled a cigarette from the pack and tossed it over:

"Have a smoke to ward off the chill."

Then he lit one for himself and threw the lighter over as well.

For smokers, cigarettes could be incredibly powerful.

For instance, a cigarette could make a boring moment less tedious, ease a sour mood a bit when you're feeling down, make hunger less gnawing, or even make you feel less cold when it's chilly…

Whether it was actually effective or just a placebo, smokers always found a reason to light up.

"Thanks!"

The man caught the cigarette, put it in his mouth, and lit it, but Su Chen could tell from the way he smoked that he wasn't a smoker.

"Cough cough~~~"

Sure enough, after just one puff, the man began to cough, and it seemed to agitate his wound, causing his eyebrows to furrow.

"If you can't handle it, don't force yourself!"

The woman cast a glance at the man and said.

"It's fine, it's fine, Jiao, don't worry."

The man gently stroked the woman's hair and smiled.

"I'm sorry…"

He said to Su Chen with an apologetic shake of his head and a smile, his expression somewhat helpless.

"It's my oversight, if you're not used to it, don't smoke," Su Chen replied, never one to force others.

"Really, it's fine. Just got a bit choked at first, but it's better now."

As he spoke, the man took a couple more drags and exhaled:

"You see, it kind of looks the part now, doesn't it?"

"Pssh, such vanity."

The girl pouted and stood up, walking towards the outside of the cabin.

It wasn't until the girl stood up that Su Chen realized just how impressive her figure was, truly devilish, and she was over 1.7 meters tall.

The only flaw was that her leg appeared to be injured, giving her a limp and detracting from the beauty.

Su Chen only glanced once before averting his gaze; after all, her boyfriend was right there!

But her boyfriend seemed quite interesting.

After some conversation, they learned that his surname was Su, and he learned that theirs was Mu.

By the next morning, the fishing boat had arrived in Malacca City. Su Chen, Old Yu, and the couple exchanged brief farewells before parting ways.

Su Chen didn't linger and went straight to Formosa Castle located slightly north of the city center. Built by the Portuguese hundreds of years ago, its current master was the Sea King, Arthur.

Given that the Strait of Malacca was an essential maritime chokepoint, it was only natural for the Sea King, who thrived on the sea, to have a transit point there.

Meanwhile, that same morning in Jianghai.

As usual, a servant from the Wu Family opened the large gates of the outer courtyard early in the morning, but as soon as he did, he was stunned by the scene before him.

"Dead bodies, dead bodies, so many dead bodies!"

The servant shouted as he ran back inside, his face marked by sheer panic!

In the early morning, most of the Wu Family were just getting up. Upon hearing the servant's terrifying screams, they were all momentarily stunned, and then they rushed out to the courtyard.

Soon, a crowd gathered at the entrance, and when they saw the scene outside, everyone was dumbstruck!

Six bodies were piled up in a heap by the entrance, creating a shocking tableau.

The thick scent of blood lingered in the air, and some of the more faint-hearted had already begun to vomit on the side, for the sight was too horrifying!

"What's happened again?"

An annoyed voice hummed from the back of the crowd…
