Batman’s Son in Marvel

Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Lucius Fox

"Grandpa Alfred, where's Bruce?"

After Adam Wayne emerged from the laboratory, the first person he looked for was Alfred, the loyal butler of the Wayne family.

As for his "cheap dad," Bruce Wayne, Adam had no idea where he'd disappeared to this time.

In the first month, Bruce had been incredibly patient and attentive to Adam, always staying close and offering support. But once he saw that Adam's experiments were progressing smoothly, his chivalrous instincts kicked in again.

During the day, Adam would still catch glimpses of Bruce, but at night, the man was nowhere to be found.

Of course, Bruce had no idea that Adam had already figured out his little secret.

Instead, Bruce would frequently come up with lame excuses—attending galas, company meetings, or discussing partnerships. Adam often wondered what kind of company needed meetings at two in the morning.

Unlike Bruce, Alfred had stayed by Adam's side consistently, helping and supporting him. Over time, the bond between the two grew stronger.

"Ah, young master, he's attending a meeting. It's an impromptu trip to South Korea."

Adam couldn't help but marvel at Alfred's skill.

Older people really were sharper—Alfred's excuse sounded much more believable than Bruce's last-minute board meetings.

"Grandpa Alfred, this meeting wouldn't happen to be… dangerous, would it?"

Adam asked cautiously.

The last time Bruce went to one of his so-called "meetings," he came back with circles under his eyes darker than a panda's.

What baffled Adam even more was how Bruce managed to get black eyes while wearing a Bat-mask.

And as if that weren't bad enough, Bruce actually tried to tell Adam he had bumped into a door frame.

It was moments like these that made Adam question whether Bruce and Alfred thought he was stupid.

Alfred's face showed a trace of awkwardness when Adam asked.

"Master Bruce will definitely—no, absolutely—be fine this time."

But just as Alfred finished speaking, Bruce Wayne walked in.

His face bore clear signs of a rough night—blackened eyes and a defeated expression.

"Hey, Adam!"

Bruce forced a cheerful tone, but the moment he saw the looks Adam and Alfred were giving him, he touched his bruised face awkwardly.

"What's wrong? Did something happen?"

Even Alfred, who had always been composed, couldn't hold back anymore.

Adam smirked and said, "Let me guess—did you offend Miss Maria during the meeting and get smacked?"

Maria was Bruce's secretary—a delicate and soft-spoken woman whose main job during meetings was to look like a pretty vase.

Adam's comment was clearly just to tease Bruce, but it still hit a nerve.

Bruce's face flushed with embarrassment, and he quickly changed the subject.

"Uh, Adam, I heard you were looking for me? What's going on?"

Adam glanced up at him and replied, "My artificial intelligence is finished. I want you to take a look."

"What? Already?"

Bruce stared at Adam in disbelief.

When he saw that Adam wasn't joking, he turned to Alfred and said, "Okay, Alfred, let's check it out. Let's see what surprise Adam has for us."

"Sure, sir. But should we call Fox?"

Alfred suggested.

Fox was the Chief Technology Officer of Wayne Enterprises—the genius behind Bruce's Bat-suit and Batmobile designs.

If Adam had really created something extraordinary, Fox would be the perfect person to evaluate it.

"Good idea. Let's call Fox."

Bruce agreed without hesitation.

Adam didn't object and quietly waited for Fox to arrive.

Despite it being well past midnight, the old man arrived at the lab in record time.

"Mr. Wayne, it's not very polite to disturb an old man at this hour."

Fox, an older black man with gray hair and an approachable demeanor, looked mildly annoyed.

"Don't blame me, Fox," Bruce said with a shrug. "Blame Adam. He's the one who finished his project so late."

"Oh? And what grand invention has our little Adam made this time?"

Fox bent down and ruffled Adam's hair with a grin.

Adam winced at the overly affectionate gesture but endured it.

Sometimes being treated like a child was unavoidable.

"My artificial intelligence is complete. I'll show you."

Not wanting to be smothered any further, Adam quickly led the group into the lab.

"Oh, artificial intelligence? Quite an impressive claim."

Fox's tone was amused, clearly skeptical that a ten-year-old could create anything groundbreaking.

Still, he followed them inside. Bruce and Alfred exchanged glances and trailed behind.

The moment they entered the lab, all three were stunned.

In the center of the room stood a massive golden sphere, over 20 meters in diameter.

It emitted a dazzling, pulsating light—half-real, half-illusory. Golden sparks flickered across its surface like lightning, giving it an almost living presence.

Even Bruce Wayne, who had seen Superman in action, couldn't hide his astonishment.

"My God… what is this?"

Alfred's voice trembled as he stared at the glowing sphere.

Fox, however, recovered quickly.

"Adam, is this the artificial intelligence you were talking about?"

"Definitely."

Adam nodded confidently.

Despite being impressed, Fox still didn't believe it was true artificial intelligence.

"Adam, artificial intelligence isn't just a bunch of flashy lights. It needs hardware to run on. I don't see any servers here. Did you hide them somewhere else?"

Bruce and Alfred perked up at this question.

Fox had raised a good point—AI required massive servers for computation. Real artificial intelligence couldn't function without substantial hardware support.

And yet, there were no servers in sight.

For AI to function at this scale, it would normally need multiple floors' worth of equipment—something far beyond what this lab could store.

So how was this golden sphere running?

All three turned their attention back to Adam, waiting for an explanation.
