Chapter 7
[Kaino Izumi☆Star’s Flow @KainoIzumi · 7 minutes ago]
I’m sorry for causing a stir during yesterday’s broadcast. I will take a break for two weeks.

[Discussion Thread About VTuber, Kaino Izumi]
1. Isn’t it a bit much to use Yeo-sang two days in a row? LOL
2. >>1 You should have known the moment they tossed away the RP like trash on their debut stream.
3. But I think that’s part of their charm.
4. The character design is good, the voice is good, but they just burn the community down.
5. So it is fun, LOL.
6. Where did Star’s Flow find such a weirdo like that?
7. From what they’re doing, it seems like they’ll just be trash talked until graduation.
8. >>7 But Mei-chan is fun…
9. Well, fun is the most important thing for a VTuber anyway.
…
35. So is the previous life a thing?
36. >>35 There are various speculations, but nothing is confirmed yet.
37. There are speculations that they might be a complete newbie.
38. There was a voice actor whose voice was similar, but the personality is totally different.
39. The personality is different, and their way of speaking is almost the opposite, so the atmosphere is leaning towards “not likely.”
40. To be fair, they are somewhat similar, but you can really feel the differences when you listen.
…
91. The unidentified master of Yeo-sang, the RP trash, and communication impairment’s star flow newcomer Kaino Izumi, LOL.
92. This guy’s setting is the Water Avatar, but their specialty is burning down the community, LOLOLOL.
93. How did someone like this become a VTuber?
94. But after hearing them scream yesterday, it seems they have talent.
95. >>93 But they had to post an apology and take a break for two weeks because of that scream.
96. What’s up with posting an apology and taking a two-week break just two days after debuting? LOLOLOL.
97. It’s scary, master of Yeo-sang Mei-chan!

They’d be fine with just showing their faces and streaming if they find it troublesome. Even if they say it’s constrained, the character concept should be maintained just like the original leader did; it’s a virtue a VTuber must have. NatsuneNanase: I support you. ㅇㅇ: You’re quite insightful. ★ “Haha….” A hollow laugh escaped as my throat cracked. I can’t deny it, but even knowing it, my head felt foggy. All the VTuber-related communities around the world are burning because of me. My head couldn’t possibly work right. I started this streaming career wanting to shake off the stigma of being a Yeo-sang specialist, but it only accelerated that stigma instead.
Or is it not a stigma?
I don’t know.
“I really have no talent for broadcasting, do I?”
Meaningless questions scattered into the air.
“Yikes.”
After I was targeted and lost during yesterday’s TLQ 10 consecutive wins broadcast, my opponent turned out to be an alternate account, and I vented and screamed, which all went out through the broadcast mic.
Needless to say, it was Yeo-sang.
My opponent, Flame of Love.
No, they were trying to calm down the Yeo-sang by apologizing for wronging the narrator, but it was futile.
Instead, the Yeo-sang only intensified, and after consulting with my manager, the decision was made to declare a two-week break.
And thanks to that, the Yeo-sang accelerated yet again.
“…I might be getting punished.”
Well, my initial motivation was wrong from the start.
I never thought about becoming a VTuber; I got paperwork because my mom recommended it to me, and then I applied because I needed someone to talk to.
There are five of us in Star’s Flow second generation, including me.
I’ve heard that about 500 people applied.
It’s not weird at all for someone who barely scraped through a 1% chance to be someone like me, a socially awkward loser, not someone who seriously dreamed of being a VTuber.
It wouldn’t be strange to be punished.
“Ugh.”
Most socially awkward losers have low self-esteem and suffer from self-loathing.
In other words, the ultimate socially awkward loser like me feels more self-loathing and has lower self-esteem than anyone else.
Honestly, my mood right now makes me want to contact my manager immediately and ask to quit….
Ding!
“…Huh?”
As a notification chimed from my computer, I looked, and I had received a DM from Natsune.
And the sender of that DM is…
[Natsune Nanase: Are you okay? If you’re having a hard time, just tell me. I’m your senpai, so I’ll do my best to help you!]
…I’m glad I became a VTuber!
—
“Looks like you’re in a good mood.”
“Hehe….”
It was a long-awaited meal with my mom, but I couldn’t pay attention to her words.
My brain was currently racing due to the encouragement I received from Natsune’s personal message.
Self-esteem? Self-loathing?
That doesn’t matter.
What’s most important is that Natsune sent me a personal message on Miss Code first.
I realized that a single compliment is stronger than a hundred insults.
…I should print that message from Natsune, frame it, and hang it in my room.
“I heard you did your debut stream the day before yesterday; how was it? Was it okay?”
“Uh, um. I think it was kind of fun.”
I got to receive a personal message from Natsune!
…Well, I couldn’t transition it into a conversation.
All I could respond with to that warm sentence was “thank you.”
But if I got too excited and started chatting, Natsune would get tired of me, and I might just collapse from excitement.
Above all, how could someone like me dare to speak easily to Natsune?
I should just stay curled up in a corner and quietly be grateful for the warmth she sometimes gives me.
After all, admiration is beautiful precisely because it’s out of reach….
“Hehe.”
“…I’m glad to see you happy.”
What should I do during my break?
Should I practice TLQ?
★
– So have either of you talked with Mei-chan yet?
[Mei-chan?]
[Oh, you mean Izumi?]
The figures on my computer screen were my fellow second-generation members.
The avatar on the left was Akabane Yukari, with long red side tails that looked like RGB values 255, 0, 0 and grayish eyes—the middle schooler concept who had her debut stream just before mine.
The avatar on the right was Utsumi Ayaka, the “big sister” concept with short golden hair and sky-blue eyes, who was the first of the second-generation members to have her debut stream.
It had only been a week since our debut, but somehow, my story was the topic of their collaboration stream, which they named “Ayakari.”
[Hehe. Didn’t I clearly say from the start? That person is the strongest among us….]
– They’re strong in so many ways, LOL.
– Did you see this coming?
[Yes. The moment I met and spoke with that person, I realized they would bring the greatest storm among us.]
– They’re supposed to be the Water Avatar but excel in burning things down.
– That’s what makes them even more impressive…
Fortunately, my evaluation wasn’t too bad.
The reason was simple.
Most of the community assessed me as a complete broadcasting newbie without a previous life.
In reality, that’s correct.
It’s indeed rare for a corporate VTuber in this industry to have zero “previous life.”
In other words, everyone assumed all I showed during the two days since my debut was a beginner’s mistake.
Of course, there are still those trying to dig up my previous life in a frenzy.
“…Hmph.”
Good luck with that.
There’s no way information would come out from a truly socially awkward loser who feared the creation of some dark past and only signed up for the narrator without writing a single post.
What I wrote under my Kaino Izumi account was my first-ever activity on the narrator platform.
The only places a loser like me can write online are sites where fixed IDs aren’t needed.
[Well, obviously, I’ve met and had conversations with them.]
[After all, they are my fellow second-generation members.]
I had indeed met both of them, to be precise, all my second-generation classmates.
I met them twice, once when the second generation was confirmed and once five days before our debut stream.
And just before Ayaka-chan’s debut stream, we all conversed on Miss Code.
I mean, the only things I said were “Hello” and “Goodbye,” so it’s debatable if that counts as a conversation.
My classmates are incredibly lively sociable types, and I couldn’t keep up with the conversation.
They were really pretty, too.
Why on earth are such people in the final content for otaku, VTubers…?
Of course, I’m a massive beauty myself, but due to my communication impairment, I can’t interact with people; hence, I’m the exception.
I have my reasons.
– So what about their impression?
[Uh, um. An incredibly quiet, elegant beauty?]
[Hey.]
[Ah! That’s not what I meant; of course, they are the most lively atmosphere maker among us!]
As Utsumi-chan almost derailed my RP, Akabane-chan immediately stepped in to fix it.
Well, I don’t know if that even matters.
“Haha.”
Looks like I’ll get another Yeo-sang again.
Well, having formed a connection with Natsune, I don’t think I’ll struggle too much with this level of Yeo-sang!
[Anyway, Izumi-chan is working really hard, so everyone please cheer for her!]
[That kid definitely has talent. I guarantee it!]
…It’s surprising that a classmate with whom I’ve never had an actual conversation would cheer me on like that.
Honestly, it moved me.
Receiving such encouragement makes it impossible for me to remain idle.
I have to try harder.
My goal is to become a VTuber who can confidently say, “I am a member of Star’s Flow second generation!”
…By the way, they already call me by my name.
Inseparable people are scary….
