Chapter 1851: Preventing Trouble Before It Happens 3
A large portion of the items were quietly stored away by Feng Qingxue, saving effort, but larger items like the television, which were already out in the open, she had to leave outside. Fortunately, upon arrival, there were people to help; both Tianzhi and Xibao were already at the exit early to meet her, and they immediately moved everything onto the tractor, making sure she wasn't exhausted.
"Be careful, handle it gently, don't bump the things inside the wooden crate," Feng Qingxue reminded as she carried a travel bag in each hand, following behind her nephew, occasionally helping to lift the bottom of the box.
Xibao curiously asked, "Mom, what did you buy? Such a big box and so heavy."
There were words on the wooden crate, but they were somewhat blurred. Before he could see them clearly, his cousin had already shouldered it.
Feng Qingxue didn't answer, because she had reached the tractor, where suddenly a row of heads appeared in the bed of the vehicle — Fubao, the triplets, and Ye Yan, not one missing, leaning on the side of the vehicle smiling at her, wearing hats and scarves of various colors and styles, some black, some grey, some red, and some green. Their rosy cheeks were as bright as blooming flowers.
The weather was already very cold, Huaibei City was seven or eight degrees colder than Shanghai, with their breath forming clouds of white mist from their mouths.
"In such cold weather, why did you all come along?" Feng Qingxue placed her travel bags into the vehicle bed, swiftly climbed aboard, noticing the thick old mattresses laid out and a quilt covering the kids' legs. She turned and received the baggage from her eldest son and the box that Lu Tianzhi was carrying, stacking them neatly with the box on the bottom and the bags on top.
Xibao also climbed into the vehicle, took off his shoes, and stretched his legs into the quilt, answering, "They insisted on coming along."
Lu Erxiong scooted next to Feng Qingxue, with a mischievous grin, he said, "I missed Mom, wanted to see Mom as soon as possible."
"Isn't it the cream cake Mom brought that you missed?" Fubao unceremoniously called him out.
Zhuangzhuang added, "Yeah, fourth brother, you were even mumbling in your sleep about not letting your cake fly away."
Lu Erxiong stubbornly denied it, hugging his mother's arm tightly, "No, no, I just missed Mom, missed her so much, then I remembered that Mom said she would buy cream cake, I don't believe you guys don't like eating it!"
"Whatever you eat, you're always the one who eats the most!" Even the usually quiet Dundun couldn't resist chiming in.
Although they've never lacked food or clothing, fancy cakes were still one of their favorite foods.
The children chattered away, each unwilling to concede, while Lu Tianzhi smiled as he sat at the driver's seat, wearing an old military coat backwards, putting on a Lei Feng hat, and sheep leather gloves, "Stop fussing and sit properly behind me, I'm starting the vehicle now."
Before he could start the engine, Feng Qingxue hurriedly asked, "Have the materials I sent from Shanghai arrived?"
Lu Tianzhi turned to smile and said, "Haven't heard any news, I guess they haven't arrived."
Feng Qingxue nodded, telling him to drive carefully.
The sound of the tractor starting was loud, rumbling along on the road, attracting quite a few envious glances. The most common means of transport were still ox, horse, and mule carts, and human-powered flatbed carts, bicycles, etc. The presence of the tractor was no less than a Ferrari in the future.
Xibao stayed out of the siblings' squabbles, finally uncovering the writing on the wooden crate on the travel bag.
"Mom, did you buy a television?" The writing that seemed blurred before now appeared perfectly clear.
Upon hearing these words, Lu Erxiong loosened his grip on Feng Qingxue's arm and lunged over, "Really? Really? Since coming back home, I haven't watched TV, I'm almost dying from missing it!"
