Chapter 290: Completed The First Trial
The first silver warrior charged at Daniel with lightning speed, its sword of light aimed sharply at his chest. Daniel sidestepped with a smooth step, activating Heaven's Honor with its white aura.
The white glow of the blade flared like a sacred flame, steady and bright, and with a swift spin, he struck the warrior's arm.
The sword met the light, but the white aura cut through as if it were a real blade, severing the illusory arm from its body.
The warrior faded with a sound like the wind, but its shadow reformed on the crystalline ground, becoming a new enemy.
"Seriously? You think you'll wear me down like this?" Daniel raised a brow.
But on second thought, he felt a bit embarrassed. Did these things even understand what he was saying? Better to focus on how they used the Moon Law's Light Aspect instead of talking.
The second and third warriors attacked at once. One swung its sword of light down from above, aiming for Daniel's head, while the other spun in from the side, targeting his waist. Daniel leapt out between their strikes and infused Death Energy into his blade.
The black aura of Death Energy fused with the blade's white glow, and his sword shone like a dark, radiant star.
With one horizontal slash, he targeted both warriors. The combined wave of light and darkness tore through the air, scratching deep lines into the crystalline ground.
The illusory warriors shattered like glass, but their shadows rose again, this time becoming five enemies.
Five silver warriors now attacked in unison, their swords raining down beams of light toward Daniel.
One conjured an illusion, trapping Daniel within a circle of shadows, as if dark walls were closing in around him. Another fired a blinding flash of light, momentarily dimming his vision. Daniel, however, stayed calm.
He closed his eyes and focused inward, only to suddenly hear whispers guiding him.
"The Eternal Moon Orb?" He frowned but listened.
The Eternal Moon Orb's mystical murmurs guided his mind: The moonlight reveals truth; break the shadows. Taking a deep breath, he expanded the white aura of Heaven's Honor.
The white glow surged outward like a shining wave, shattering the shadow circle and scattering the blinding light.
Daniel opened his eyes and, with a swift spin, focused Death Energy into a single strike.
His blade, like a dark meteor, slammed into the ground, unleashing a surge of light and darkness that swallowed the five warriors.
The crystalline ground trembled, and the illusions dissolved into silver mist that faded into the air.
But the trial wasn't over. The shadows gathered again, this time forming a massive silver warrior, standing ten meters tall, wielding a sword shaped like a glowing crescent moon.
This final illusion was the strongest embodiment of the Light and Shadow aspect, moving with speed and blows that shattered the ground beneath it. It raised its sword, releasing a wave of light and shadow toward Daniel.
It was as if it wanted to drown him in a void of illusions. Daniel charged Heaven's Honor, fusing the blade's aura with Death Energy, and lunged at the warrior.
His sword shone like a dark sun, and with a vertical slash, he split the wave of light and shadow.
The warrior swung its massive crescent blade with a silver howl, but Daniel dodged nimbly, cracks spiderwebbing through the ground where the blade struck. With a powerful leap, he landed on the warrior's shoulder, injecting Death Energy in a precise strike.
The black aura slithered like a living serpent into the illusory body, while the white glow of Heaven's Honor tore it apart from within.
The giant warrior collapsed with a thunderous sound, its body breaking apart into drifting silver particles.
"Is it over?" He glanced around.
The temple grew still. The crystalline ground smoothed once again, and the starry sky shone softly with the light of the full moon.
Daniel took a deep breath and rested Heaven's Honor on his shoulder.
"Well, that's the first one… but where's my reward?" he muttered with a frown.
Suddenly, the Eternal Moon Orb appeared before him, projecting an image of moonlight — a soft glow that shattered shadows and revealed truth.
Daniel felt something within himself shift. Suddenly, ethereal inscriptions surged toward him and flooded into his mind.

He tried channeling the moon's power. The Law of the Moon was unique in that it didn't require a personal source of power — one could draw directly from the real moon.
And right now, this was the Eternal Moon Temple, with a moon hanging directly above him. Naturally, there was no issue using it.
He tried mimicking the moves of the moon warriors, and after several attempts, he succeeded.
Now, with focus, he could create a faint glow or manipulate shadows for a brief moment, though he was clearly at the very beginning. It was obvious he'd need far more practice.
He decided to start incorporating these abilities into his upcoming fights to get a proper feel for them.
At the same time, one of the silver pillars in the real world lit up.
"What? He passed the first trial? But it's only been ten minutes since he went in! How did he do that?" Lana muttered in disbelief.
She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Sure, the first trial was the easiest among the five, but clearing it in just a few minutes was supposed to be completely impossible!
Even for her, it took nearly three hours. How did that boy clear it so fast?
"Could it be his power is far beyond what he's shown?… But how? He's only Rank B!" For a moment, Lana felt her understanding of the world falter.
Suddenly, the silver aura wrapped around Daniel again, and the space around him began to shift.
"Let's move on to the second trial."
