Awakening The Only SSS-Rank Class! Now Even Dragons Obey Me

Chapter 225: War Begins

After Daniel's speech ended, the excitement and enthusiasm reached their peak.

A large portion of the crowd raised their hands to volunteer for the war. Seeing all those raised hands, a smile appeared on Daniel's face.

Fortunately, they no longer lacked soldiers. With this many, they could definitely overwhelm the demon army. Plus, with the weapons he planned to give them, things would become even easier.

It didn't take long before Evern brought a massive number of weapons, just like he had promised. Before distributing them among the people, Daniel blessed them using Death Energy.

Killing demons wasn't easy. Even for him, it could be troublesome—let alone these weak followers who had no real experience or power.

However, with the help of weapons blessed by Death Energy, things would be different. Of course, that didn't mean they could kill demons just by using them.

At best, these weapons could paralyze demons. If they managed to land a deep enough hit, the Death Energy would enter the demon's body and start a process that destroyed their internal organs.

And whenever the demons tried to heal those organs, the Death Energy would destroy them again. This way, demons could be paralyzed for a while.

That brief paralysis would give Daniel's Fallen enough time to finish them off. Plus, thanks to the Death Energy in their bodies, any demon killed would be registered under Daniel's name, and he would gain EXP.

Once all the weapons were blessed, the Paragons distributed them among the people. Unfortunately, they didn't have many armors—just a few pieces they had managed to get.

Before the newly-formed army headed toward the city gates, Paragon Evern approached Daniel and whispered something to him. Whatever it was made Daniel smile.

After that, the new army of the Eternity Faith began marching toward the city gates. Daniel, Evangelin, and the Paragons landed on the city walls and once again looked off into the distance.

At the same time, the gates opened, and the army exited the city. Once they were out, the gates closed again, and Daniel strengthened them using Death Energy and his mana essence.

It was the best precaution he could take. Even if things didn't go according to plan, at least the city wouldn't fall.

"Are you sure about this plan?" Evangelin turned to Daniel and asked with a frown.

"Doesn't matter if I'm sure or not. It's our only option. Look at that demon army—do you think they'll back off if we do nothing? They came here for one reason—destruction."

The Saintess sighed. She knew that after her master's ascension, they would face many problems. But she hadn't thought things would escalate this fast.

Daniel ignored her and looked down at their army. Their numbers were massive—hundreds of thousands, close to a million.

They had an overwhelming numerical advantage. But he knew that in this battle, numbers meant nothing. Their enemy was demons.

Demons were the only race that could rival Corruption Beasts in terms of being strange and dangerous. Killing them was extremely difficult, and they had tremendous power.

Each of those demons could easily kill ten people, and even massacre a hundred. He could only hope that the army he had gathered would be skillful or lucky enough to land just one hit on them.

One strike—that's all it would take.

"Looks like one of them is coming this way," Paragon Abraham narrowed his eyes and stared into the distance.

A tall, large demon was flying toward them. His presence alone, even from far away, made the Paragons and Evangelin tremble.

Daniel ignored them and flew toward the demon.

"Idiot, what are you doing?" Paragon Evern clenched his teeth and suppressed his fear as he flew after Daniel.

He couldn't let their new leader die so soon. Whether he liked him or not, he had to admit—Daniel was now the shining star who had managed to rally an entire army of followers.

If he died, they'd all lose hope—and that wasn't something Evern wanted to see right now.

However, the other two Paragons stayed where they were. Evangelin… well, she didn't have the ability to fly.

"Human, I am the great demon Baldazor."

Daniel looked at the demon who introduced himself. He was very tall and massive, at least three meters in height.

He had horns twice as large as a stag's, and his skin was completely red, even seeming to glow a bit.

Instead of two eye sockets, he had four. And his mouth… it looked just like a Joker's—creepy and disgusting. It reminded him a little of the One-Eyed Winter. He didn't know whether to laugh or not.

All that aside, what caught his attention the most was the level of power this demon had. The energy radiating from him was equivalent to mid-B rank.

But in terms of combat power? Daniel had no doubt that this demon could kill any of the three Paragons who were peak B rank.

"I'm the leader of the Eternity Faith. Noir." He decided to use his last name instead of his first.

"Haha, so you're the lowly human leading this trash heap now? I expected that senile old man to choose someone stronger." Baldazor looked at Daniel, seemingly assessing him. Though, there was a faint look of contempt and disappointment in his eyes.

"You seem to be talking too much for someone who doesn't even dare say the Prophet's name out of fear. Don't tell me you've forgotten what happened at the Gulf?" Daniel laughed.

"Shut up! Hmph! No need for more words. We're giving you one chance to surrender. You and the Saintess must swear loyalty and become dogs of our king. The rest of those bastards either become slaves—or we'll kill them." The massive demon growled with rage.

"Why only me and the Saintess get to be slaves? We don't have the option to die?"

"Haha, you trash… if you don't agree to become slaves, we'll torture you for the rest of your lives. You're the last legacy of that bastard. There's no way we're letting you go."

"You have twenty minutes to decide. If the answer's no, we'll kill all those bastards and take you two alive," Baldazor growled, then turned and left.

Daniel frowned, then looked at Evern. A mix of emotions filled his eyes. They both turned and flew back to the others.

He told them all what Baldazor had said.
