Chapter 702: Rather Destroy Than Surrender?
"Now… it's time to head back."
Sterl muttered to himself, excitement and anticipation gleaming in his eyes.
In fact, his decision to enter Hell had two main reasons: first, to gain more advantages, and second, to avoid getting caught in the war between the Kingdom of Orichalcum and the Ashen Temple.
After all, in his previous state, facing the full force of two divine-level factions had been a bit too much for him.
But this journey to Hell had been a huge surprise for Sterl—it was practically like cheating!
Not only had his strength been completely transformed, but he had also gained a terrifying army powerful enough to shake the very world, capable of sweeping away anything in its path!
From now on, the balance of power had completely shifted!
He would return to that world as an invincible ruler, showing the Kingdom of Orichalcum and the Ashen Temple who the true king was, who the real strongest being was!
Moreover, since stepping into the third-class limit, he had delayed long enough. It was time to break this deadlock.
"Powerful Divine Power, huh? I'm really looking forward to it,"
he said with a trace of intrigue on his face. At this point, even upper-tier divine authorities failed to pique his interest. Even the top-tier powerhouses among upper-tier divine authorities, whose strength far exceeded that of ordinary upper-tier divine authorities, still couldn't match Sterl's confidence. His immense strength was enough to crush them into oblivion!
Only those powerful Divine Power-level beings from the upper realms might pose a threat to him. He had never truly witnessed just how powerful Divine Power could be.
But after awakening the Star-Bone Sacred Body, Sterl was confident that he could hold his own against them. Even if he couldn't defeat them, he was certain he wouldn't die!
"Let's test how strong the suppression of Hell's creatures by the [Tanscendence] world is."
With that thought, Sterl's mind shifted, and using his authority and his connection with [Tanscendence], he began to create a Spatial Portal between Hell and the Alpha 8 world.
But just as he was about to complete it, Sterl froze.
"Hmm? What's going on? Why can't I open the Spatial Portal?"
For a moment, an ominous feeling crept into his heart, and he immediately attempted to contact the Will of Hell and Hell itself.
What he didn't expect was that his attempts failed. It was as if Hell and the Will of Hell had been trapped by some force, completely isolated from the outside world.
Suddenly!
A sharp warning shot through his Dimension Perception. There was a threat—and it was no ordinary threat!
"Damn! It's happening again!?"
Sterl didn't need to think twice to know that it was the forces behind the invaders causing trouble.
He had suspected this all along. Given what he knew about these creatures, there was no way they would simply retreat or give up on their invasion of Hell and their mission to eliminate Sterl, a threat.
Just like he would never let go of the easy prize within his grasp, they would never let go of their invasion.
But he hadn't expected the retaliation to come so quickly, so suddenly!
"You son of a bitch, do you really think I'm an easy target?!"
Sterl wasn't worried or anxious. Instead, a surge of anger swelled up inside him. The aura he had retracted earlier suddenly exploded out like a solar storm, spreading and engulfing everything around him!
"Break for me!"
He punched forward with immense force, shattering the barrier of this layer of Hell in an instant. With a simple, brutal motion, he tore through to the next layer of Hell.
The speed was astonishing—within a few seconds, he had moved from the ninety-first layer of Hell to the first layer of core Hell.
At that moment, he suddenly looked up. Above the core Hell, a swirling mass of gray energy, resembling a storm, was descending toward him!
This storm clearly didn't originate from Hell; it seemed to have forcibly breached from the Endless Void!
Wherever it passed, all matter and energy in the air disintegrated in an instant—not just destroyed, but transformed into something else, utterly wiped away, as if it had never existed at all.
Sterl's expression changed slightly. This was the gathering place for all the beings of Hell, his army's headquarters. This storm seemed determined to destroy all his gains and accomplishments!
"To hell with this!"
Overcome by rage, Sterl cursed loudly. Then, with a thought, he expanded his reach. In an instant, a massive area spanning tens of thousands of miles was enveloped, and all the beings within that range were absorbed into his small world.
The moment he absorbed them, the storm struck!
In an instant, the land was reduced to ruins, the laws of reality shattered. The entire layer of Hell seemed to be collapsing!
No! More accurately, the entire Hell was collapsing and being destroyed!
The time was too tight. Sterl could only manage to collect the nearest Lords, upper-tier divine authorities, gods, demigods, and most of the legendary beings.
But still, a few beings were exposed to the storm and were immediately swallowed up, their souls and bodies disintegrating into ash in the blink of an eye!
Sterl's eyelids twitched, and he felt as though his body had been cut open, a sharp pain shooting through him.
As for the storm, the divine markings covering his body quickly flickered, directly blocking its power from reaching him.
Though the storm was terrifying, its focus was on area damage rather than single-target destruction. Most of the force was absorbed by those markings, with only a small portion managing to penetrate and affect his body. However, it ultimately caused no significant harm and couldn't shake his currently formidable physique or his terrifying vitality.
"What is this? Are they trying to destroy Hell?!"
Taking a deep breath, Sterl said with a look of horror on his face.
Holding most of the Authority of Hell, he could clearly sense Hell crying out in agony, and the authority in his hands was rapidly weakening, fading away at an alarming rate. The power of the authority was diminishing with frightening speed.
If the authority were to completely disappear, it would mean one thing—Hell would be entirely wiped out, vanishing without a trace…
This scene had far exceeded Sterl's expectations. He had assumed that the forces behind the invaders would never let go of the prize that was Hell, nor would they allow him, a huge threat to them, to remain unharmed.
But he never imagined that these hidden forces could go to such lengths—if they couldn't claim Hell, they would destroy it entirely, ensuring that it wouldn't fall into enemy hands.
"If I had been any slower... If I hadn't marked them with the followers' sigils in advance, this time... it could have been..."
For a moment, Sterl couldn't help but feel a pang of fear. He had come so close. If he had hesitated for just a second longer, all of his followers and army would have turned to dust. His forces, which were meant to expand his empire and crush all in their path, would have perished before achieving victory.
But even so, many of his first-generation followers were directly slaughtered by the horrific gray energy storm.
Although they were mostly third-class cannon fodder, the sheer number of them made a difference. Even if they weren't needed, they would have made excellent soul power reserves.
Sterl reminded himself to stay vigilant. These behind-the-scenes manipulators weren't just crafty, but ruthless and cruel. Fighting against such monsters required extreme caution and careful planning.

Taking a deep breath, he watched as Hell rapidly shattered and began to disintegrate. Inside, his emotions were complex. He had once hoped to use his small world to devour Hell.
But in this situation, it was clear that all those plans had turned to dust. His hope of absorbing Hell was now nothing more than a fleeting dream.
The gray energy storm, although not particularly strong for him at this point, was massive in scale. There was no way he could counter it on his own, and he could only watch helplessly as Hell was gradually destroyed.
"Is this a failure on my part?"
He had entered Hell in response to its call for help, but now Hell seemed doomed to be destroyed regardless, which left Sterl extremely displeased.
After all, this was tied to his reputation—it felt like an insult to him.
But at this point, there was nothing he could do to change it. He could only think that Hell's fate was sealed, and it was unavoidable.
Just then, a weak fragment of information flowed into his mind through the still-active The Authority of Hell.
"Help... help me... save me..."
There was no doubt that this message came from Hell itself. Under the relentless sweep of the apocalyptic storm, Hell, already weakened, was now struggling just to send out a message.
"Save you?"
Sterl was silent. He could feel the overwhelming weakness of Hell, and it would be an understatement to describe it as being near death.
But how could he save it?
Hell was a world, not a single being—it couldn't be absorbed into his small world like a living entity, could it?
Moreover, though his small world had grown more powerful, most of it was still in a void state, unable to contain something so vast.
In many ways, Hell was not just one world but a collection of countless smaller worlds, making its scale immense.
"Sorry, I am powerless..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Sterl suddenly shook, and a flash of inspiration surged in his mind.
"Absorb it into the small world?"
Sterl muttered to himself, and it seemed like, surprisingly, this might be a feasible plan.
Hadn't he just been lamenting the inability to make the small world devour Hell? But now, the opportunity seemed to be right in front of him.
If he tried to absorb Hell, it would certainly resist fiercely, but now the situation was different.
He didn't need to intervene; all he had to do was open the right permissions for Hell, and it would willingly merge on its own.
Whether this method could save Hell was irrelevant to him—what mattered was the immense benefit he could gain from it!
Moreover, this was Hell's last lifeline. Regardless of whether Hell trusted him, there was no other choice!
If Hell didn't trust him, then in the face of this storm, it would be doomed to perish.
If Hell trusted him, however, there might still be a slim chance of survival!
