[Lightning Bolt, Strike, Chain Lightning, Static Field, Thunder Crash, Storm Barrier, Gale Wing Slash...]

"You foolish human, trying to act friendly with a dragon," Vorrak laughed, "We'll get rid of you and then turn him into ash."

As Alex stood on the plateau, eyeing the three dragons with a calm determination, Zyrran moved first.

His jagged horns sparked with intensity as he opened his massive jaws.

Without hesitation, he unleashed a powerful bolt of electricity, the air crackling as it shot toward Alex.

The bolt struck with a deafening crack, sending arcs of electricity rippling outward, illuminating the battlefield in blinding light.

But the man didn't move at all once he saw the source of this attack.

Why you might ask, well because he had just eaten a [Thunder Wolf Meat], and though it was average in ranking, it still worked just fine.

[Description: Consuming this meat temporarily grants the eater complete resistance to lightning-based attacks for 12 hours (based on cooking rating).]

The description it gave was based on what you would get with an [Average] rating, anything above and below would grant a bonus or the opposite.

ZAP! BOOM!

-0!

Alex stood unmoved, his expression calm.

The electricity danced around him, but it didn't seem to faze him in the slightest.

"..."

Zyrran's glowing eyes narrowed, his confusion palpable.

"Impossible," the electric dragon hissed, his voice crackling like static. "No mortal can withstand my lightning."

Alex allowed himself a small smirk. "You'll have to try something else," he said casually.

Zyrran's pride was wounded, and his frustration was evident.

The dragon let out a growl, sparks flying from his maw as he shifted his weight, preparing for another attack.

This time, he summoned [Static Field], enveloping the battlefield in a humming aura of electricity.

The air around Alex grew heavy, and arcs of lightning began zipping through the area, seeking a target.

Alex, however, walked through the storm without hesitation.

His immunity rendered the skill useless, and Zyrran's attacks might as well have been a light show.

"You're wasting your energy," Alex taunted.

From the side, Kaelthor and Vorrak observed with growing curiosity.

Kaelthor's ember-like eyes glimmered as he tilted his massive head. "A human who can resist Zyrran's lightning? Interesting."

Vorrak snorted, smoke curling from his nostrils. "He won't resist for long. Let's see how he handles fire."

Kaelthor stepped forward, his ember-like wings spreading wide.

With a roar, he unleashed Ember Flurry, sending a swarm of fiery projectiles hurtling toward Alex.

But thanks to his already high agility, as well as the boost he was given from the [Poisonous Serpent Meat], he was able to avoid them all.

Kaelthor growled, his molten breath heating the air as he prepared Pyroclastic Surge.

A massive fireball formed in his jaws, growing brighter and hotter by the second.

With a deafening roar, he released it, the fireball hurtling toward Alex with devastating force.

Alex dove to the side, the fireball narrowly missing him and exploding against the rocky terrain.

The blast sent shockwaves rippling through the ground, but Alex rolled to his feet, unscathed.

"You'll need to be faster than that," Alex said, his tone calm but confident.

"..."

The dragons exchanged glances. This human was more resilient than they'd expected, and their pride demanded they crush him.

Dragons were masters at close-range combat, meaning that even though they were easier to hit because of their bodies, they were still able to overwhelm the opponent thanks to their claws, mouths and even tails.

Kaelthor, with his ember-like wings, charged forward in a blazing dash, activating Flame Surge.

Fire trailed behind him as he closed the distance in an instant, his fiery claws glowing as he swung them toward Alex.

"Shadow Veil," Alex sensed the power of the attack, and knew that it would be an instant death if he got hit, so instead he simply vanished from sight, and repositioned himself behind Kaelthor.

With a swift strike, he targeted the dragon's exposed flank, his blade cutting deep.

Shadow Strike!

The important thing to note about [Shadow Strike] wasn't it's damage as it was pretty low now that Alex was advanced.

Instead, it was the fact that any successful hit from the shadows guaranteed a bleed effect, provided the strike pierced through the target's defenses

And it happened as his strength was extremely high.

-134,522!

The damage was in fact decent, though only a fraction of the massive 100,000,000 health pool, but the impact was revealed moments later.

Ding!

[Dealt "Bleed", causing 8% of health.]

-8,000,000!

"Argh..." Kaelthor felt that one even though he tried to act tough and confident.

And then without wasting any time, while the ember wing dragon was confused, and the other two were simply watching, thinking that Alex's attack was weak, he raised his staff, summoning his strongest spell.

Demonic Spear!

He summoned the giant spear above his staff, the demonic energy around it flickering as if alive, and then without wasting a single second, he hurled it at the dragon.

Fwish... BOOM!

The spear struck Kaelthor's head directly, triggering a devastating explosion.

[Weakness hit, dealing 300% of damage.]

-46,197,390!

The damage, as well as the explosion that followed right after heavily damaged the dragon, who was sent crashing toward one of his companions.

"A mortal dares to defy us, how laughable..." Zyrran growled, taking the fight much more seriously now.

"You think your little trick will work twice?" Vorrak laughed, letting go of Kaelthor, whose body began to burn with fierce aura as he locked eyes with Alex.

The three dragons, who would usually easily toy with their prey, were now as serious as ever, ready to attack at the same time with all of their might.

The three dragons spread their massive wings and began to hover above the ground, preparing a coordinated assault.

Their combined power was overwhelming, their auras blending into a storm of fire, electricity, and molten energy.

"I hope you're ready, human."

"..." Alex locked eyes with them, sweating dripping from his brow because of the heat and the sight before him: even Alex knew that fighting dragons at this level was a bad idea.

"You're dead," Kaelthor snarled, his ember wings flaring as he locked eyes with Alex.

But before the dragons could strike, a new voice cut through the tension.

"He's not alone, dumbasses," Alphox growled, stepping forward. The black dragon's flames flickered menacingly as he joined Alex's side. "You should've stayed in your caves."

"Alphox, we already said it, you're the laughingstock of the entire dragon race at this point, no need to think of yourself as someone high and mighty," Zyrran grinned, ready to unleash a massive attack.

"Disgrace or not," Alphox replied, his black flames intensifying, "I'm still strong enough to crush you."

He turned to Alex and lowered his body slightly. "Get on my back, human."

"What?" Alex hesitated, unsure of the plan.

"Dragon battles usually happen in the air," Alphox explained before launching Alex onto his back with a flick of his tail. "Try not to fall off."

And then...

Flap! Flap! Flap!

With a powerful beat of his wings, Alphox took to the skies, Alex clinging tightly to his back.

The other three dragons followed suit, their wings creating gusts of wind that whipped through the battlefield.

"I hope you have a way to hit them up here," Alphox said, his voice steady but strained, knowing he couldn't win alone.

"..." Alex remembered the [Target Practice] back in his first [Mage Trial] and smiled, "I got this, just focus on the physical aspect, and make sure not to fall or else we're dead."

"Alright," Alphox nodded, "Well, then, let's deal with those fuckers."
