Awakened: SSS Ranked Soul king

Chapter 162: Eric Blaze

There was a different ranking system here in the strongholds as opposed to the Blacksteel shelter. It wasn't too much of a difference of course. It only cut out ranks for those capped at blue, yellow and red.

All of them were just called slayers.

However, anything above that was a ranked slayer and they corresponded like so.

Purple- B Ranked

Emrald- A Ranked

White- S ranked

Guilliman had just asked for a test that was ranked, a B Ranked test!!. At his young age? It was like a call to the wild.

"Hm?" At this point Eric couldn't help but close his mouth and observe Guilliman from the sides of his eyes. There was no longer a look of frustration hidden in his eyes, rather it was a strange alluring light of curiosity.

Was guilliman mad? Or was he missing something?.

"Okay" the bar keep nodded.

Then with a gentle smirk he tapped the ground 5 times, each sending a wave of energy that seemed to compound with the number of times released.

At the end of it, the room had undergone a significant change. The fire pit in the middle of the room and spread across the room like liquid fire, the numbers of blades didn't just increase, they seemed to form a constellation of stars running through the air and the golems had become empowered by a strange energy.

The difficulty had increased by several fold in a split second.

'This is a treasured Echo huh? Or the extension of one'

Guilliman mused.

The room was nothing short of miraculous, the way the old man controlled it reminded Guilliman of something familiar.

Mister Whites silver mountain pavilion.

This was a treasure that only the strongest S Ranked slayers could create. It took a lot of work and experience to build one, and whenever one was created it was absolutely terrifying.

But the bar keep was only at A rank.

'Oh that makes sense'

Infusing some arcane energy into his eyes, Guilliman was able to scan the staff In the old man's hands and observe the inscription all over it.

"Don't tell me this too is disappointing?" The bar keep asked seeing Guilliman lost in thought once more.

In truth, he couldn't go much higher than this, the staff needed to be wielded by someone more powerful to create a test that could test A Ranks. He didn't believe Guilliman would ask for that of course, but that pause was a bit unsettling.

"No….this is alright" Guilliman nodded as his gaze burned through the obstacle course infront.

There was a clear pathway to the other end of obstacle course, he just needed to go through the challenges.

Taking in a large breath of air, Guilliman steadied himself and with a push of breath….

-boom

He blasted into the first obstacles

The power he controlled now was much more impactful than it was all those years ago. A simple dash could reap apart the air around and a punch could easily collapse a reinforced wall.

This obstacle dispite its strength and complexity was nothing to Guilliman. In a split second he passed through the first section of the test and kept going.

"10 seconds…. Thats a record" The bar keep commented with a smile on his face.

Guilliman blasting through the obstacles so easily was quite surprising, in fact it was the best he had seen in this station of his.

The only other person he believed could achieve such was just too lazy to give it his all.

'Speaking of which'

The old man's gaze fell onto Eric on the side.

The kid no longer complained, no longer showed hesitation or dodginess. Rather he was fully focused on what was happening infront of him.

Guilliman did not spare the course one bit, with causal twists turns and dashes he was able to clear obstacles with relative ease.

It was as if he was walking through and open park.

"You want to join him?" The bar keep asked with a sly smirk on his face.

Eric Blaze.

He was the sun of one of the more infulental groups in Kong shi city, His father an S Ranked Slayer. But he? Was less interested in power. Everything he got was handed to him easily so he saw no need to compete.

But the old man knew differently about Eric.

The kid was truly spiteful and competitive, but his environment made sure he didn't face that many challenges.

That was why he challenged the boy to try his best when renewing his license. He wanted him to be fully aware of what he was capable of.

"Yes, please reset the prior obstacles uncle jax, I want to catch up" Eric took off his top revealing trails of burned tatto marks that seemed to pulse with red light.

It felt mouth watering to see someone blazing through an obstacle course like this. Especially someone of his generation.

It fired him up.

"Okay" the bar keep simply nodded and struck the ground renewing the obstacles Guilliman had reaped apart.

"Goodlu…" before he could say anything though.

-boom

Eric had taken off, as a trail of fire was left in his wake.

"Hm?" While dashing through the obstacles, Guilliman quickly felt a change in the atmosphere around him as a new soul signature appeared in his perview.

"Interesting" Guilliman mused.

The kid was capped right in the middle of B Rank, yet he was clearing the obstacles just as fast or even faster than Guilliman in the first few moments.

His talent was noteworthy.

"Sad you didn't take initiative" Guilliman muttered, then all of a sudden he pushed forward into the river of blades slashing through the air.

The kid was talented, but if he wanted to compete with Guilliman, he had to be more than talented.

He had to be down right crazy.

Meanwhile,

As the two took the test down below, a pair of individuals entered the bar and quickly scanned around.

"Where's Eric?" One of them a man with tattoos all over his face said.

That good for nothing had been summoned not too long ago, but ran away from home. He had to answer for his crimes before his father.
