chapter 26
So, we went home after the Demon Lord left. It seems that within three days, the grand Coliseum in Brisbane will be used. My mother will have to beat all the challenges in 10 seconds to win. Well, that's surprising, though it's pretty obvious that the Demon Lord and my mother were not serious, despite needing the 12 demon knights to create a barrier to stop natural disaster levels of destruction. My mother smiled, that feeling of watching your child grow; it truly is the best. I noticed Sophie, "that's just arrived," we head off to the bedroom for nightly activities. Like that, three days pass in the blink of an eye. I'm in the audience of the grand Coliseum in Brisbane. Naturally, the arena has been expanded to accommodate all the remaining participants by the Colosseum staff. This process alone has taken around an hour. Naturally, the fight begins and ends. Honestly, what the hell just happened? Everyone has just be defeated so quickly, I couldn't even perceive what happened. It was all over in a matter of seconds. The Demon Lord appeared in the arena and handed my mum the Twilight staff. She simply smiled and threw it at me. "I caught it. All artifacts have a will of their own, at least the ones that work,". "Failed artifacts, also known as prototypes, don't actually do anything. They're completely broken. The reason they're so valuable, even though they do nothing, is for research purposes. They're very valuable research material. However, the Twilight Staff is one of the artifacts that's a living weapon. It's like other artifacts that are picky about who can use them, but it's also capable of growth since it's alive. I can feel it. The staff seems to like me, but I haven't gained its acknowledgment yet, but it's a good sign." The Demon Lord then solemnly announces, "The point of this tournament was to allow those lazy pieces of shit a good excuse to get off their asses. The United States has declared war on us." So, we expected it to be at least another six months before they actually initiate a conflict, and the war officially begins. In other words, you should spend the rest of the time training, as my Generals will be recruiting a thousand of the strongest, and everyone else is on reserved duty. We haven't had a war in 300 years, so we've got to remind the world what makes us Australians the mightiest in the world. So, I don't care if you're in reserved duty, whether you are clearing out the dungeons to prevent dungeon breaks, or whether you'll find yourself on the front lines. The entire world will be watching, so don't disgrace yourself by showing weakness.
