chapter 14: Grinding sucks part 2
"I woke up, realizing my head is pressed between two soft melons. I probably would have suffocated if I needed to breathe, but eventually, I had to get up and have a bath. Well, technically, I could just use the Clean spell. But the relaxing atmosphere that a bath provides is something the Clean spell can't emulate. We then take one of the teleportation circles at the hub to our destination; the dungeon on the inside looks similar to the Grand Canyon."
"I engage in hand-to-hand combat with an iron golem. After the fight at the Colosseum, I realised that my mastery of turtle shell is utterly lacking; the iron golem's defenses are no joke at my current strength. I'm on par with veteran adventurers. The growth of S ranks is no joke. Anyway, I should be able to easily obliterate any F-ranked monster, with zero effort, and bulldoze my way through an F-ranked dungeon solo. I can see why adventurers treat this dungeon as a training ground, and there are quite a large number of adventurers here. Of course, one should always be wary of other adventurers since dungeons are basically the best place to commit a crime. The dungeon consumes the bodies, meaning they disappear without a trace shortly after someone's death. Not only that, no one will investigate, and there's no way to monitor what happens inside the dungeon from the outside. There's an exception: S-ranked deaths are always investigated, which is why they're so popular among adventurers parties. It means that most people probably just steal from them, not kill them. This insurance policy makes them very popular," I say. "Anyone insane enough to actually target the S ranks doesn't last long. Anyway, I continue practicing my hand-to-hand combat skills and turtle shell. Now at my current strength, the iron golem's attacks are unable to hurt me; their attacks are pretty slow, so it's easy enough to dodge them. I continue barraging it with kicks, punches, practicing my blocks, practicing my dodges. After an hour, it finally goes down. Holy shit, this thing is literally like a tank. Its attacks may be slow, and it may lack in power, but its defenses are definitely much higher than an average
f ranked monster, has any right to be. This makes them the perfect training. I move on to the next iron golem and continue to hone my combat skills."
"After who knows how long Sophie and I had long since been separated, I began to practice my magic, still in development. "There are two types of unique magic," I say. "Unique magic that's unique to a species, and dungeon magic is an example of this. Dungeon magic allows dungeons to exist in an alternate dimension as well as create and control monsters. Dungeons can also create things like treasure and resources. As the name suggests, it's truly impossible to replicate unique magic. The second kind is the created kind. A caster can create their own unique spell. Of course, getting magic to the unique level is not easy. Unlike the one that's unique to a species and is simply something every member of that species is born with, the created unique magic can be learned by others, but as its name suggests, it's impossible to create magic that's exactly the same as it. I began by meditating, focusing greatly, and then combined all the elemental magics into one and then manifested it into a flame. The rainbow-colored flames may look like fire, but that is just a visual representation of the spell. Their true form is a fusion of all elemental magics. In a few seconds, I dispersed the flames, covered in horrific burns. I begin using healing magic. Even with powerful healing magic, my wounds are still healing very slowly. After about 20 minutes of healing, I am all healed up. If I can perfect that spell, I'll have a unique magic that can literally burn anything, though that includes myself," I say. "There are not many magics that can hurt the casters with the exception of spirit magic, since it literally creates a natural phenomenon."
