Awaken the Tenseigan, Become the Mastermind of the Shinobi World

Chapter 179: Chapter 179 – Infiltrating Kumogakure

Jiraiya's eyes widened, his face filled with shock.

"What?! Kabuto Yakushi? That unremarkable guy actually stirred up a storm this big? And that damn dangerous technique—Edo Tensei? This is getting way too serious!"

He furrowed his brows and began pacing back and forth.

"This is practically a declaration of war against the entire shinobi world! If he can resurrect powerful shinobi at will, the threat we're facing is unimaginable."

Hyuga Gakuya watched the anxious Jiraiya and said in a low voice,

"And if those resurrected shinobi join forces, it could become an unstoppable force."

Jiraiya offered a suggestion.

"Can you draw him out and eliminate him in secret? If we can take out the hardest piece on the board first, we might have a chance."

"Impossible," Gakuya shook his head. "He's already aware of everything that's happened—he learned it through the Fourth Hokage revived by Edo Tensei. I only managed to seize control of them."

As if responding to Gakuya's words, several Edo Tensei shinobi whose souls had already been sealed suddenly dissipated—their souls released.

Gakuya's eyes narrowed. "He dispelled the Edo Tensei technique himself… he must be planning to perform a new jutsu elsewhere!"

Naruto's eyes went wide. "Does that mean my dad's soul is gonna be messed with again?!"

Gakuya reassured him. "The Fourth Hokage already broke free of Edo Tensei once. Kabuto won't dare resurrect him again, at least not yet. What we need to do now is get to Kumogakure as fast as we can—before it's too late."

He turned to Konan.

"Konan, take Pain's body back to the Land of Rain. Tobi has likely gone to ground. If I find any trace of him, I'll let you know immediately."

"If Sasuke and the others have returned to Amegakure, do your best to keep them calm—and just send me word."

Konan hesitated for a moment, unwilling to leave behind Nagato's body, but she knew there was no other choice. She gave a solemn nod.

"Hinata, Hanabi—you two stay here. I'll come back for you once this is over."

Without wasting another moment, the group departed for Kumogakure. Gakuya summoned a puppet hawk and flew into the sky alongside Jiraiya, Shikamaru, and Naruto. The mood among them was grim.

Shikamaru was deep in thought, brows furrowed, his mind racing through all the potential scenarios and countermeasures.

Naruto gritted his teeth, swearing silently to himself that he would save Sasuke—no matter what. He wouldn't let his friend sink any deeper into the darkness.

Meanwhile, Gakuya stayed on high alert, scanning their surroundings for signs of an ambush.

As Gakuya picked up the pace, they finally reached Kumogakure—only to be met with a shocking sight. The village's signature mountains, plateaus, and buildings had been completely obliterated. In their place was a massive, circular crater. Just a few scattered Kumo shinobi moved cautiously around the edge.

"This... this is Kumogakure, right?" Shikamaru kept checking the map, comparing it to what he was seeing with his own eyes.

"What the hell happened here?" Naruto gasped, unable to believe the devastation before him.

Gakuya looked around calmly. He showed no surprise—he had already anticipated this based on intel his shadow clone had sent back.

Floating higher into the air alone, Gakuya activated his Tenseigan, scanning the area to uncover what had happened several hours earlier.

...

A clay bird soared across the skies, carrying Gakuya's shadow clone, Sasuke Uchiha, Kisame, and Deidara, speeding toward Kumogakure.

As they neared the outskirts, the group coordinated seamlessly to capture a lone shinobi.

Sasuke activated his Sharingan and interrogated the captive coldly.

"Where is Killer B? Speak."

Under the influence of genjutsu, the captured ninja's eyes glazed over, and he mumbled out an answer.

"B-sama... should still be inside Kumogakure…"

But Gakuya's clone wasn't convinced. He used the Tenseigan to search a hundred-kilometer radius for large chakra signatures—and what he found confirmed his suspicion.

Killer B wasn't in the village at all. He had been hidden far away, in the Valley of Clouds and Lightning. Kumogakure itself was a trap—deserted of civilians and crawling with elite shinobi, laced with countless traps.

It was a decoy.

"They're using B as bait," Gakuya muttered, eyes narrowing. Then he gave quick orders. "Deidara, you and I will attack the village and create a diversion. Sasuke, Kisame—you two go capture Killer B."

"Got it," everyone replied in unison before splitting up.

The clay bird veered sharply and dove straight into Kumogakure. Deidara, grinning maniacally, launched his assault.

"Try my evolved C1 Earth Spider!"

As soon as the words left his mouth, a swarm of spider-shaped bombs rained down on the village, engulfing it in a blazing inferno.

"Enemy sighted! Release lightning arrows!" Mabui, the Raikage's secretary, issued commands rapidly, coordinating the village's response.

Kumogakure's elite shinobi surged into action. As if on cue, countless lightning-imbued arrows were fired from all directions toward the two intruders in the sky.

Just as Deidara began to sweat, Gakuya's golden Tenseigan flared—and in an instant, all the attacks were reflected back with lethal force. Several shinobi were struck down immediately.

"Bastards!" the Fourth Raikage, A, roared. "You think you can just stroll into Kumogakure and do whatever you want?!"

Wrapped in a cloak of lightning, A shot into the sky like a thunder god, aiming straight for the two invaders.

But Gakuya stood his ground. He let out a cold chuckle. "Raikage... been a while."

"You!" A's eyes widened with fury. "Hyuga Gakuya!"

He recognized him instantly—the once-unremarkable Anbu from Konoha, now a deadly threat.

Though just a clone, Gakuya's body wasn't weak. While he couldn't unleash full-powered jutsu, he could still match the Raikage with taijutsu alone.

He leapt off the clay bird, fist wrapped in flame and wind, and collided head-on with the Fourth Raikage. One punch sent the Raikage flying back.

A staggered to his feet, shocked by the strength in Gakuya's fists. But as the Raikage, he wasn't about to admit defeat. With another furious roar, he charged again.

Every one of his strikes came with roaring lightning, trying to break through Gakuya's defense. But Gakuya moved like lightning himself—slipping through each attack with ease.

Then, in a flash, Gakuya sidestepped and countered. His fist, laced with swirling flames and gales, slammed into A's gut with crushing force.

The Raikage groaned and flew backward, crashing into a building, which collapsed instantly under the impact.

"Raikage… you're no match for me," Gakuya said coldly, hovering in the sky.

A slowly rose from the rubble, blood trickling from his mouth, but his eyes burned with unyielding resolve.

"Even if it costs me my life... I won't let you run wild in Kumogakure!"
