Chapter 7: 3 Million Auron A Deadly Offer
"Wait—what does that even have to do with anything?" Alice asked, clearly confused.
"Well, by 'cleaning up' I meant killing them," Sayan explained casually. "If you don't take 'em out in time, they just keep crawling out of the dimensional rift nonstop."
And then, Brundrath descended from the sky.
[Tier 2]
He was a hulking armored beast—like someone had mashed together molten rock, the bones of ancient creatures, and rusted metal from a battlefield. From a distance, he looked like a mobile mountain. But up close… each step cracked the earth beneath him like thunder.
He stood nearly five meters tall, with arms thicker than tree trunks, and broken horns sprouting from his shoulders—souvenirs from past victims in the other world.
He let out a roar that shattered the air.
Alice instantly copied the roar—exactly—and pasted it back at Brundrath.
The volume of Brundrath's roar was so insane that every single tree in the area got ripped out of the ground, cars were thrown into the air, and even laundry on the rooftops got blasted off their lines and flung across the streets!
Alice's playback of that same roar? It hit Brundrath like a cannonball, knocking him flat on the ground.
Ashen didn't wait a second—he charged in, tapping into the powers he'd gained from Vel'Tharok.
His punches were absolutely savage.
Ashen balled up his fist and drove it straight into Brundrath's face—sending two of the beast's massive teeth flying out and crashing into the dirt.
But that only pissed the beast off.
Brundrath lunged back and managed to grab Ashen, lifting him up like a toy, clearly planning to toss him straight into the air and crush him on impact.
And right as Brundrath was about to throw him—
Raven stepped in.
He twisted time backwards—just a few seconds.
Back to the exact moment Brundrath grabbed Ashen.
This time, Ashen got yanked out of reach.
Raven saved his life.
Ashen landed on his feet and jumped straight back into the fight.
Alice continued copying every move she could see and pasting it back with perfect precision.
But it wasn't working anymore.
"Guys, you want me to rewind time to right when that thing was falling from the sky—then Ashen can land a perfect uppercut and launch it into the air before it hits the ground?" Raven offered quickly.
"Sh*t, that's a genius plan!!" Ashen shouted.
And that's exactly what they did.
Raven dialed back time a few minutes—just enough to catch the moment the sky darkened and Brundrath began his descent.
"NOW!" Raven shouted.
Ashen focused everything into a single punch.
He landed the blow with perfect timing—and it sent Brundrath rocketing back into the sky.
"Yooo! That was insane!" Alice cheered, high-fiving her brothers.
They could hear the cha-ching sound of XP raining down on them.
Apparently, Ashen had hit Brundrath so hard his head got stuck mid-air and just disintegrated.
[System Message: Ashen, Raven, and Alice – new mission registered. Please proceed to the Dimensional Rift Comms Tower – Eleanor Branch.]
"What the heck do they want with us now?" Ashen asked as he wiped sweat off his brow.
"Should we go or…?" Raven asked cautiously.
"Let's go. No harm checking it out," Alice replied without hesitation.
They waved goodbye to Sayan and made their way to the tower.
There was someone waiting for them outside.
"You three must be the kids everyone's been talking about. Please, head to Room Eight," a staff member said, motioning toward the entrance.
The inside was weird—totally unlike the high-tech vibe they were expecting. It felt more like stepping into a forgotten history book than a modern military facility.
Still, the three of them followed the hallway toward Room 8.
Inside, a beautiful woman stood to greet them.
"We're so glad to finally meet you," she said warmly.
The trio greeted her politely and sat down.
"Would you like anything? Juice? Coffee? Something to eat? You must be exhausted," the woman offered kindly.
"Thanks, but I'm good," Ashen replied quickly.
Alice slapped her leg and smiled.
"Actually! Coffee please. Caramel. With milk. Just mine though!"
The woman gave the coffee order to someone, then turned back to them.
"So, as you probably know," she began, "all battles between humans and demons are automatically recorded into our system. I watched your fight myself—and I was blown away by how well you worked together."
"Thanks, really appreciate that," Ashen nodded.
**"Now, I wanted to ask… would you be interested in cleaning up a dimensional rift—for a reward of 3 million Auron?" she said, almost like she was testing them.
"Wait—what do you mean by 'clean it'? Don't you have staff for that kinda thing?" Raven asked suspiciously.
"Well… it's a risky job. Maybe I spoke too soon," the woman said carefully.
"What do you mean? We might be up for it," Ashen leaned in, curious.
"The dimensional rift is basically a whole other world—home turf for demons. Deep inside the Crimson Forest region, there are spawners—structures that keep multiplying these monsters. We're asking you to destroy them."
"Sounds awesome. I'll do anything for 3 mil," Alice grinned.
"No! Are you insane? You know what happens if that rift fully opens?! We're not even close to ready yet!" Raven snapped.
"Yeah… I gotta agree with Raven here, Alice," Ashen added, voice low.
"C'mon pleaaaase? Pretty please??" Alice begged, turning on her charm.
"It's fine, really. Just let me know if you ever change your minds. Here's my number—XXXXXXXXXX," the woman said, handing over a contact card.
"By the way… what's your name?" Alice asked, tilting her head in curiosity.
"Most people just call me Lady Eleanor," the woman replied, taking off her glasses.
Lady Eleanor was one of the regional directors for the Dimensional Rift Communications Network.
She was known for her strength and commanding presence—silver hair, golden eyes—famous across the system.
She was Tier S, had conquered Floor 9, and her talent was just as rare as Ashen's.
But despite her status, no one fully trusted her. She had multiple ongoing court cases, and her reputation was full of shadows.
The trio said goodbye and stepped outside.
"She seriously just tried to throw us into a death mission outta nowhere," Raven muttered.
"Uhh… you might wanna look above your head…" Alice said nervously.
