Chapter 23
Warp Gate.
Well, to put it simply, it’s a gate to anywhere in Laemon.
It’s a bit expensive for a one-time use, but that has nothing to do with me.
Along with my contract with Karin, I already have enough money from harvesting vegetables, fruits, and other things with that potion.
Well, if I wanted to, I could bathe in it right now.
“Master, aren’t we going to be late if we wait for this?”
“I think so.”
Sure enough, she’s right, I’ll be late for school if I wait in the amusement park-like queue. But who am I?
“I’m the lord’s son, mate, even if I look like this.”
“Ah! That’s right, I forgot because the master is such a bully, come to think of it, you were a nobleman!”
[Goddess of Destiny had also forgotten].
A heavy fact flew at me and stuck in my chest.
No. Shiva, this is too much.
I wondered if I should have let that out of my mouth, even if it was self-deprecating.
“Okay. So we don’t need that line.”
With that, I strode majestically past the warp gate queue with my companions.
“Excuse me, there’s a queue here.”
“…”
The newcomer doesn’t recognise me and stops me. I look at Kersey, Riche, Philippe.
Haha… This brat isn’t paying attention.
I approached the newcomer, who stopped me and put my arm around his shoulder.
“Dude. Don’t you know who I am? I’m your boss! We eat together! We go to the hot springs together!”
“…”
After hearing the facts, the employee looks at me in disbelief.
This guy really thinks I’m lying.
For the record, nothing I said was false.
My dad manages the warp gate here, so I’m not lying.
During the confrontation between me and the junior officer. My voice must have been loud because another employee walks up to us.
This guy looks like he is about 500 pounds and has a fierce look on his face.
Kind of like a thug.
He walks up to the junior employee with a stern look on his face and asks.
“Hey, what’s going on and why is there such a fuss?”
“Well…there’s a weird guy coming in. He didn’t even wait in line, and just barged right in. Then starts yelling at me, so I stop him, and he says he’s friends with the manager or something.”
The senior employee’s face hardened into a stern expression. His fierce face became even more ferocious.
“What’s the matter with that nutcase? They should be quickly disposed of. Who is he?”
“Yeah, that’s him.”
A junior employee who’d been bossed around by his senior.
He gave me a world-weary look and pointed his index finger at me . The senior employee slowly moved his gaze to follow his pointing finger.
Then me and the senior employee made eye contact.
“Ehh!”
After making eye contact with me, he swallowed hard and squinted his eyes. Sweat dripped from his forehead like rain.
Yes, that’s a normal reaction.
Instantly recognizing who I was, he grabbed the low-level employee by the hair with one hand. Then, without hesitation, he forced himself to bend at a right angle and apologize.
“I’m sorry, young master. He’s new here, so he hasn’t gotten to know you yet.”
He looks scary, but he’s got some sense.
The junior employee’s face turned pale as he finally realized what he had done, as his senior colleague bowed and apologised as soon as he saw me.
The junior employee also spoke in a trembling voice.
“Sin,I apologise. You can go through the warp gate right away.”
“Hmm. Be careful next time.”
I was running out of time, so I only gave him one warning. The senior staffer gives me a subtle look, as if he’s not sure whether he feels comfortable with me ending it this way.
I gathered my companions, and strode towards the warp gate, ignoring the queue.
It feels good to be rightfully cut in line.
Behind me, I feel the stares of my companions and the people in the queue, but I try to ignore them and step through the warp gate.
***
The scenery around me changed instantly, like switching screens in a game.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be able to use doors to go anywhere, and here I was, getting my wish.
With a strange feeling in my stomach, I turned my head back to see if the Others had followed.
Riche and Philippe look as if they’ve been to the capital before, while Kersey’s mouth hangs open like a child who’s just come to Gangnam after living in the countryside.
She stays like that for a few moments, then flails, her arms around her, a smile on her face.
“Master, is the original royal capital this different?!”
“Well, it is.”
At first glance, the European-looking building doesn’t look much different from David’s estate, but a brief glance-up reveals the difference.
Unlike David’s estate, the royal capital is mostly high-rise, perhaps to maximize the efficiency of land use.
Well, it certainly seems like it should be a high rise.
That’s true, but there are so many people that you’ll be bumped into as soon as you walk past them.
With so many people, where would I live if they didn’t build a high rise?
“Let’s stop looking and stop by the mansion.”
“What?! Is the master leaving already?”
“Not already. If we go now, we’ll arrive exactly in time for the opening ceremony. Hurry up.”
“Ugh, yeah. Okay, master.”
In my words, Kersey’s expression was instantly tinged with regret. Seeing that, I let out a light sigh.
“Haha… I’m going to stay here for half a year anyway, so you’ll be able to see it to your heart’s content . Don’t give me that look. kid.”
“What’s my expression! And I’m not a kid!”
“Yes. kid.”
To my fact, she puffed up both cheeks like a pufferfish.
That’s what it means to be a child.
[Goddess of destiny says it’s really childish for a child].

[Goddess of destiny says it’s really childish for a child].
A child, a woman, an equal man, that’s who I am. Therefore, I have no shame whatsoever, the constellation thinks.
With that, I and Kersey walked to the mansion, grumbling at each other.
By the way, Philippe and Riche walked with their heads down in shame at our behavior.
…
A woman arrives at the Royal Capital the day before the first day of school.
Eileen von Illin leisurely changed out of her school uniform at her family’s mansion in Royal City. She stepped up to the full-length mirror in her room.
The reflection showed her wearing a black blazer that matched the color of her hair. A white shirt similar in color to her white eyes, and a gray skirt that was neither short nor long.
She looked at her reflection and made a pouty face.
“I didn’t fasten all my buttons.”
She could probably get away with not buttoning at least one button on her blazer, but in her usual high-minded way, she did. I shifted my gaze back to the mirror.
She smiled with satisfaction at her neatly buttoned, albeit slightly embarrassing, reflection and nodded.
“Finally. Neat.”
With all her preparations complete, Eileen leaves the room and is immediately greeted by one of the female maids, who seems to have been waiting for her the whole time.
“Miss, I have a carriage ready for you right now.”
“Yes.
Eileen nodded with a grim face and followed the maid, glancing back at the woman in front of her.
Her father must have put her there to keep an eye on her.
I’m sure of it. Everyone in the house is talking about her as the greatest talent they’ve ever had.
I’m sure he put it there to make sure I didn’t end up with an oddball like Kane again.
Which is why I had a crush on him in the first place.
…No, no, let’s not dwell on that.
Eileen shook her head, desperately trying not to think about Kane.
But.
She had already thought about it, and her mind subconsciously recalled the previous meeting.
That idiot, Kane, dumped her, like she didn’t matter.
I… I’ve been so worried…trying to figure out how not to hurt him.
Not that I can say much, because I was going to break up with him, too.
Even so, I wonder if I should have kicked him so viciously. To be honest, after I broke up with him, I couldn’t stop thinking about him in my head during the school holidays.
I didn’t want to think of him anymore, so I kept swinging my sword, but it still kept hovering.
No… let’s move on.
We broke up anyway. Even if I thought of him now, I couldn’t go back.
While Eileen was thinking about Kane. Before she knew it, she was in front of the carriage the maid had escorted her to.
The carriage was luxurious, as if to say, “A noble rides here,” and in its center were the crossed swords of House Aegon.
The maid opened the carriage door and bowed.
“Lady, you may enter here.”
“Yes.”
Eileen nodded at the maid’s words and entered the carriage, sitting down somewhat awkwardly.
As expected of a luxury carriage, the seats were cushioned, and she turned her head to the window beside her.
There were a lot of people walking around, people doing business in the morning. Students going to the academy, adventurers looking to make money, and so on.
As she gazed out without thinking, the maid sitting next to her spoke up.
“Miss, are you thinking of Master Kane?”
At her question, Eileen gave her a cold look.
“I wasn’t thinking about him, but thanks to you, I’m beginning to think about him.”
“I apologise. However, the patriarch has given me a firm order not to allow you, Miss Eileen, to go near Kane Confucius.”
“I see. Very well.”
With those words, the two rode in silence until they reached the Royal Academy. The silence lingered in the awkward silence. One of the other servants driving the carriage spoke up.
“Lady, we have arrived.”
“Very well, I’ll go to the auditorium right away, and you can rest in the mansion.”
In Eileen’s words, the two who had been driving the carriage nodded.
“Lady about Kane…”
“I know. Okay.”
Annoyed that the maid kept going on and on about Kane, Eileen cut her off with an annoyed voice and furrowed her brow.
Why does she keep mentioning Kane every time I try to forget about him?
Eileen arrived at the gates of the Royal Academy, still irritated from the morning.
Approaching the guard, she flashed her student ID.
“Yes, you may enter.”
Eileen did as she was told and walked through the door.
As she walked briskly towards the auditorium, the venue for the opening ceremony, someone stood beside her and called out loudly.
Eileen turned her head to look. Jenny, with her shiny blue short hair and matching pupils, waved her hand in the air.
“Eileen! What’s up?”
“Just so-so. How was your holiday?”
“Ahhhhhh, nothing much, just sword training.”
Eileen smiled faintly as she looked at her best friend, Jenny. Seeing her friend made her feel like her rising blood had subsided again.
The two of them walked back to the auditorium, reminiscing.
As they walked, they saw a group of people gathered around them with disbelieving expressions.
Eileen shifted her gaze to them.
What is this? Is something going on?
As she scratched her head in confusion, Jenny next to her crossed her arms in sympathy with the students’ reactions and nodded.
“Yeah, yeah. No wonder people are like that.”
“Why? Is something wrong?”
“Huh? Didn’t you hear, Eileen? I thought you were supposed to know?”
Didn’t hear? I’m supposed to know? What does this have to do with me?
At Jenny’s question, Eileen tilted her head to one side in confusion.
“Wow…you really didn’t hear. Kane’s not late for school today, and guess what? he’s not drunk. Sober…sober today!!!”
Jenny’s voice was loud, causing the man, who she had been thinking about throughout the school holidays, to turn his gaze to the two of them.
At the same time, her eyes locked with Kane.
