Avatar: Mage of All Elements

Chapter 24: Chapter 24

All in all, I've been on the island for about five years. And I didn't come here for nothing. The first year I needed to raise the rock and protect the inhabitants from threats, I trained extensively with the local female warriors. Not to say that I was a genius at MA, but knowing the human anatomy well from my previous life, I was well suited to this style, which used the opponent's strength against himself.

But there were other elements to this style that girls only learned as a tribute to tradition. I became curious and decided to study it, at least superficially. As I found out later, I did not do it in vain.

This style and this whole martial art was invented by a woman named Kyoshi, who founded this island and who was also an Avatar, the Lord of the Four Elements. I was a little shocked, but I still asked the girls to teach me everything. And the whole style thing, it really hit me.

The thing about style is that there are four directions: attack, defense, evasion, and distraction. Each direction has six basic stances and twenty-four variations of their combinations. It took me a long time just to memorize them. But it was worth it. As mentioned above, this style of MA was invented by an Avatar.

The answer to the question «Why?» is banal - for more efficient use of elemental elements. It turns out that by knowing the entire style thoroughly, any avatar can freely use any element with minimal understanding of the element itself. It's so ingenious that I couldn't find the words to describe it at first.

But once I figured it out, I became obsessed with the style. I tried to practice it everywhere and all the time. As I practiced and perfected the moves, I began to weave earth and water magic into it, which made me hard to kill with its protective and distracting properties. But the main reason I was so into it was because, in addition to all this, something else inside me was responding.

I thought it was my father's «Legacy». But my mom acted like a real praying mantis, so I'll never know who he is again. And I can tell from the movements that it's fire magic. And since I have this ability, I want to develop it. Yes, I still have room to grow in earth and water magic, but I just want to.

My mind is full of it, and it's more like an obsession. But I'm holding on and persevering. So far, I've had enough of training with Kyoshi, of which I am now officially a part. At first, they dressed me up in a skirt and made me look like a geisha.

However, I did not care enough to be uncomfortable, so the whole joke was not relevant, and in the end I was given regular men's pants and a male version of makeup.

But after a long period of training and honing my skills in MA, I was let go a bit and returned to the idea of mastering metal magic. And it took me another year, during which I did nothing but try to learn or at least feel the thread of metal magic. And I was ashamed and embarrassed when I realized that there was no such thing as metal magic, and that it could only be controlled by impurities and small particles of earth.

It was very embarrassing, but I understood the essence from which the mastery of this industry went by leaps and bounds. I only have one piece of metal left that I can't control. It's the purest metal that Lao Beifong once sent me. I do not know how such purity was achieved, but there were no impurities in that piece that made it impossible for me to control.

After I learned how to manipulate the metal, I made a lot of inserts for my clothes out of it. I also had the idea of making something like strong metal tentacles that I could wrap around someone or tie them up if necessary.

But for that I had to go to the Land of Fire and order everything from them, because only they had that technology. I was just about to set sail when I received disturbing news from the Beifong family. I couldn't ignore it, so instead of going to the Land of Fire, I went to the Land of Earth.

I did not neglect healing. I had to practice so as not to lose my abilities. The hardest part was explaining why I could do it, but the «It's magic» excuse worked, and I could heal not only myself, but anyone who wanted to, quite openly.

This allowed me to make a quantum leap in learning healing magic, and MA was much easier to learn. I was able to heal my injuries as soon as they appeared, which was very useful for the training itself and for the body as a whole.

But the whole village said goodbye to me. They tearfully asked me to come back because they couldn't live without me. And I myself would like to live here, it's too good. And I got used to the people, I didn't want to leave after such a long time. But there's a word for that - must. And when it's necessary, it's necessary.

After waiting for the ship and assuring everyone that I would definitely come back here, I boarded it. I had to sail for two days to the big land, and no matter how I tried, it would not be faster, because this time I had to stop here to stay and sell goods.
