Asta's Adventure

Looking at the captains, all the examinees felt admiration.

Noelle was the same. She started scanning each captain with her eyes until she saw Nozel, who was standing next to Solid.

She felt a bit scared and, without even realizing it, stood next to Asta. This calmed her down, and with determination, she looked at them, not diverting her gaze. This surprised both of them, as until now, she had never dared to maintain eye contact with them for more than a second.

Finally, she decided to tear her gaze away from them when William Vangeance announced the start of the exam. He opened his grimoire and, chanting a spell, pulled a small tree out of the ground, from which brooms grew, falling into the hands of each participant.

The first challenge was to fly on a broom.

He explained why this was necessary and demonstrated what they were supposed to do. The examinees began their attempts.

Many couldn't fly properly and barely managed to stay in the air. Meanwhile, Yuno majestically soared into the air, standing on his broom with his feet, which immediately caught the captains' interest.

Noelle also performed well, which impressed the participants and intrigued the captains, as well as surprised her family members.

"This trash achieved this in just over half a year?" thought Solid, not wanting these words to reach Nozel, as now he was defending Noelle.

At that moment, Nozel was staring intently at Noelle, his attention almost entirely focused on her. Noelle felt this and shivered as a chill ran down her spine.

Meanwhile, the attention of the crowd and captains shifted to Asta, who was simply standing still. He didn't even try to fly. During his previous attempts, he had tried to fly a hundred times, but it was all in vain. So, this time, he decided to just give up.

When the noble people saw him, expressions of disdain appeared on their faces, and mockery could be heard from around Asta.

Noelle, seeing this, also remembered that Asta couldn't use magic and started to worry.

Yuno, on the other hand, looked at Asta with anticipation.

At that moment, conversations began on the captain's bench.

"Wow, this is the kid who is supposed to join me," said Jack.

"Not a chance, you jerk!" Yami shouted nearby, and a brawl broke out between them.

"Oh, the young man who surprised us all last year," said Fuegoleon.

Nozel, however, paid no attention to him.

Charlotte looked at Asta with indifference.

Dorothy was just snoring.

"Don't sleep here!" Yami shouted.

The most noticeable one was Rill. He stood up and, with a smile, started waving and calling out to Asta.

"Asta, hey! How are you?" Rill shouted. At that moment, a butler, who had heard Rill's words, quickly started walking toward Asta.

Noticing Rill, Asta also smiled, began waving back, and started talking to him while the exam continued.

Meanwhile, the examinees in the air began to talk among themselves in surprise.

"Does this guy know the captain?"

"Maybe he's a close relative?"

"Ugh, I won't get away with my nasty comment…"

Yuno smiled, pleased with what was happening.

Noelle proudly lifted her head, which didn't go unnoticed by Nozel.

At that moment, the butler reached the arena and, bowing deeply, knelt down, beginning to roll a cart toward Asta while pouring tea from a kettle into a cup.

"Hello, you must be Asta, the friend of my young master. I was very happy to hear that the young master has made a friend. I hope you two will be great friends. Here, please, this is our family's signature tea."

"Okay, thanks," Asta said, taking the cup and drinking. The taste pleasantly surprised him.

After a few questions from the butler, the conversation concluded. With those words, Asta completely convinced the butler that he was indeed a friend of Rill.

"I enjoy making friends, and I consider Rill one of them."

These words touched the butler, who had wanted to offer Asta a massage but was forced to leave the arena, as it was now time for the second challenge.
