~~~Third Person, Eighth Moon, 277 AC~~~
~~~Hunting Camp, Crakehall~~~

"Who was it?" Valka asked once Azrael returned to the carriage room, holding the letter. "Onno, apparently Varys sent a letter, according to him, it's important."

Valka made a snort she didn't like Varys, "I don't know why you keep him alive, the man enslaved children to have his network of spies, by this stage, he should already be serving time in the hellish cells of Ischyros, or the mines."

Clear was the evidence of this, the thousands of tongue-less children who had been sent to Xandar for treatment at the Arcane Center were damning proof of the cruelty Varys had put those children through.

Aspect that for Valka, though Azrael had caused the man's virility to stop responding to physical stimuli thanks to a potion. She was still adamant about sending Varys to the cells.

"He is important to the long-term plans I have planned for Westeros, he has been helpful in those efforts, but if he proves to be useless, he will then cease to advise a king, to become company for the golems," Azrael replied smoothly.

Without another word, Azrael opened the letter and the result surprised him a little, "what does it say?" Valka did not want to be left behind, and placing herself behind Azrael, she began to read the letter over Azrael's shoulder.

"The Ironborn?" Valka said, confused. They must be very foolish to take up arms against an entire kingdom; something like that has no margin of victory from any possible plane."

Azrael chuckled, fleetingly remembering the Greyjoy rebellions, "well, one thing many in Westeros share, is that they don't tend to think much."

"But what if these... Islanders attack and we are still here, what will happen?" Valka got to the important point, for her, the last thing she wanted was to be involved in a war event in a foreign realm, since Xandar at the moment had the power to respond to any attack.

Due to the royal fleet, which confirmed a total of one hundred and twenty ships, plus Azrael's personal Khalasar, along with Endoxes, it was more than clear that there was no force in the known world capable of facing all that force. Which consisted of not even a quarter of the entire power of Xandar.

"Xandar will be an observer, we have no reason to interfere, unless the Islanders are stupid enough to attack some Xandarian ship, if so, then they will know firsthand the words of House Jaesyrian; don't tickle a sleeping dragon".

~~~Tywin Lannister~~~
"Young Brandon was healed with a Xandarian potion, the Xandarian king himself gave it to Lord Rickard, though I don't know in exchange for what," Tygget said to me in a measured tone, as he popped a grape in his mouth, especially one from my plate.
"Will you behave yourself?" I scolded him, frowning and pulling the plate closer to me.
I knew there was no medicine or act of any god that could heal the boy, the damage to his young body was irreparable, unless, of course, Lord Rickard got a potion, something that was far more complicated than receiving a blessing from some god.
The stalls were filled to the brim with fake potions, brought in to swindle or rob those fools, in case of real potions, only The Arcane Center, the place that according to rumors, was a center of witchcraft and blood curses. It was the only place where they could be obtained, and at a very high value, so getting one would cost a fortune, counting the journey that would have to be made to get to it.
But Lord Rickard was in luck, because the king himself, was around to offer some, the question was what he had gotten in exchange for the potion. "There was a land deal or something," Tygget said next, this time in possession of a plate of cheeses.
'Some trade?' Surely Azrael must have asked for something extravagant, Brandon's life was at stake, and a Rickard eager to save his son should have agreed to any deal; "What do you mean?"
"Just half an hour ago, several men brought several chests laden with gold into the Northern camp, whatever the reason, a very beneficial deal for the Northerners was made, or Xandar simply has gold to give away."
"What else did you find out?" I asked, I had to know the whole picture if I was going to get anything out of this. Especially now that the Northerners were leaving to return to their icy lands.
This had initially caused Aerys discontent, but Lord Rickard's excuses managed to appease him. The events that had occurred with Brandon were more than enough to warrant a stay in the South, and Aerys was more focused on being near the Wyverns or Azrael's dragon to give that matter any more time.
Which ended in the Northerners planning to march tomorrow at dawn back to the North, without even having attended my wedding, since it had not taken place, but that didn't matter to me, I had already gotten what I wanted, a marriage between Cersei and Brandon was written, which would be performed when Cersei served her ten and three days of the name.
Beyond that, I didn't care what the Northerners did, because sooner or later I would have them in my hand through Cersei and Brandon.
"I have not managed to find out more, you know I cannot enter the Xandarian camp, and the Northmen have spoken no more of that matter, they are too loyal to disobey any order from their lord," Tygget answered me, finished satiating himself and after making a foolish bow, left the tent.
"What do you make of this?" I asked Kevan, who had remained silent, "you are the closest to them, what could Azrael want to send chests full of gold as payment."
"Maybe it's payment for the purchase of Skagos, or the land where they're going to make the canal?" Kevan said, though somewhat doubtful. "Are you answering me or asking?"
"What do you want me to tell you, I don't know all the answers, if Northerners don't talk, then Xandarians are mute, they don't talk about issues of theirs with non-Xandarians, and it's very hard for me to read thoughts, so I don't have the answers you want."
"Then you're useless to me. You can go now," I said, watching as he walked away and left me alone, I was surrounded by useless, "father", as I thought about sinking into my silence, Jaime decided to come in. "Yes, Jaime?"
He still had a bit of boy fat on his face, but due to the training he had started with Janna and her guards, Jaime had shown improvement in his swordplay, and at the rate he was going, he would manage to become a knight soon enough.
"I want to participate in the fifth hunt," that was the stupidest thing I had ever heard, I wouldn't put Jaime in the middle of danger as great as that, "no", I told him, and I could slowly see Jaime's face get confused, then turn to anger.
"But I have trained, I feel capable, and I will not be alone, there will be guards with me," while his idea had merit, that very thing Brandon Stark had thought and turned out on the verge of death, "you are not strong, and I will not put the prestige of our house by sending my son who does not yet know how to wield a sword in its entirety, so erase that foolish idea from your head."
It was not that I did not want to see Jaime succeed, on the contrary, He deserved that and much more, as did any member of House Lannister, but he was still weak, he was still a child, and I would not endanger him as Rickard endangered his.
Jaime was silent, and with a look, I saw that he was about to crack, though I would have liked to have encouraged him to keep training, I knew that what I had to show him was a strong front so that he would not become weak to House Lannister.
"Keep training, and only when I feel you will no longer be a disgrace to house Lannister, on that day I will let you fight even in an Essos fighting pit, for the moment, you are simply weak, and that will not change now," I told him, he had to learn to be strong, with Tyrion he could not do that, he was weak from the cradle, and that would not change, but with Jaime he could make a change, something that would exalt House Lannister to higher levels.
