Chapter 3: The Coming Storm
Ikaris stood silently beside Ru's mother's lifeless body when a deep, echoing voice filled the air.
"Ikaris... so, you've finally been set free?"
The moment those words were spoken, the atmosphere shifted dramatically. The air thickened with an invisible pressure, and a chilling aura spread across the ruined ground.
Ikaris slowly turned his head, his expression unreadable. With a calm yet commanding voice, he said,
"Rikus... the god of space. It's been a while, hasn't it?"
Rikus's gaze hardened as he assessed the situation, his tone shifting with a hint of concern. "They've started to act. What do you think, Ikaris?"
Ikaris replied, his voice steady, "For now, the danger has passed. According to them, I should be dead in the wake of the explosion."
Rikus's expression grew serious. "See,the chain of seal has weakened your senses. you can't even sense your surroundings." He paused for a moment, his gaze distant. "Human forces will be arriving here soon."
Ikaris gave a slight nod, acknowledging Rikus's observation. "Then, we should leave," he said, as he gently lifted Ru's lifeless body.
Rikus nodded without a word, his focus shifting. He could sense the approaching human forces from afar. Without hesitation, he reached down and lifted Ru's mother's body. In an instant, both figures disappeared into the shadows, vanishing from sight.
Meanwhile, in the heart of the universe,Eternal Domain...
An unknown figure's voice echoed through the dark expanse.
"Eternity! The god of energy, Ikaris, is dead. Now, according to our agreement, I shall get his throne, and all his powers."
Eternity's voice came with an air of calm assurance. "I told you that if Ikaris died, the throne of energy would be left vacant. But I also warned you that if he fell, so would this entire universe. Look around you — the world still stands."
The unknown figure remained silent for a moment, processing what Eternity had said before responding, his voice dripping with suspicion, "What are you trying to say? Are you telling me that Ikaris is still alive?"
Eternity smirked, the smallest flicker of amusement in his ancient eyes. "I never said he was dead."
The unknown figure's eyes widened in disbelief. "What?! No, that's impossible! I personally orchestrated the explosion on Earth! I saw him fall!"
He let out an enraged scream, "Aghhhhhh!"
After a long pause, the figure clenched his fists. "You'll see, Eternity. I will take the throne of the god of energy, and I will also kill Ikaris no matter what." And with that, he disappeared into the vastness of space.
Eternity watched him leave, an expression of quiet amusement crossing his features. "Killing Ikaris isn't as simple as you think, Zokaris."
On an unknown planet...
Rikus and Ikaris stood side by side as they surveyed their new location.
"This place will do for now," Rikus said, his tone serious. After a brief pause, he added, "It's time for mother and son to be reunited."
Ikaris's gaze softened, his face a mask of determination. "Hmm."
Back on Earth...
A team of wizards arrived at the site of the explosion, baffled by the aftermath. They couldn't make sense of the scale of the blast, nor could they explain its origins. As they scoured the area, an officer found traces of blood. He deduced that someone had been there, but they couldn't find any further evidence.
However, as they continued their search, one of the workers uncovered a massive wall with strange, unfamiliar inscriptions. The language was ancient, and no one could decipher it. The discovery was immediately sent to headquarters for further analysis.
The headquarters dispatched their most skilled officer, along with the planet's most powerful sorcerer, whose name was Varek.
Varek stared at the wall, his brow furrowed. "This language... it's unlike anything I've ever seen," he muttered. Despite his efforts, he couldn't make sense of the symbols. He ordered the wall be sent back for translation, suspecting that something much more significant might be hidden within.
He then commanded the workers to continue their excavation.
While digging deeper, the workers uncovered a hidden chamber. Inside, an ancient weapon lay dormant. Varek attempted to lift it, but it was impossibly heavy, as though it were bound to the earth itself. No matter how many tried, none could move it.
With no other choice, the area was declared a "Prohibited Zone" for the safety of the public.
A few days later, the secret of the wall was revealed. Varek, in a rush, arrived at the location where the wall stood. The inscriptions had been translated.
As he read aloud, he spoke the words of a tale long forgotten:
"This is the story of a being who was betrayed by his own people... this is the story of Ikaris."
The story was titled: The Legend of Ikaris.
