Chapter 48 Karyx's Body (3)
In that mountainous ravine, the melting snow surged wildly, and the scorching haze pervaded the Ancytica Mountains, making the snowy realm seem like a fairyland amidst the clouds—yet the roar of giant dragons shattered it all.
"Roar!"
Amidst the surging clouds, two massive creatures engaged in battle, the mountain-like shadows intermittently visible through the smoke, making the very earth tremble.
The Abyssal Giant Dragon flapped its wings, stirring up a howling gale, and then struck fiercely at the scarlet figure with its giant claw.
Yet it struck empty air; the Red Dragon, mid-flight, beat its wings hard, deftly avoiding the mighty blow, and darted into the mist.
"Boom!"
The mountains cried out, rocks shattered and sprayed; the Abyssal Giant Dragon's claws struck the mountainside.
Under the mountain-shaking might, rocks rolled down from the summit, snow cascaded, triggering a dreadful avalanche and leaving a huge claw mark tens of meters in diameter on the mountain.
Gelrazax's deep, pitch-black eyes emitted a murky gleam, stirring up the clouds—this was the Perception of the Abyss, allowing it to see the essence of all things.
"I see you..."
The Abyssal Giant Dragon whispered low, its gaze fixed on the turbulent clouds, seeing through the shroud of mist to the Red Dragon's location.
"Swoosh—"
Two crimson beams, brimming with Chaotic Power, burst forth from the Dragon's Eye, streaking hundreds of meters towards the Red Dragon.
Cassius tightened his body and suddenly flapped his wings; his tail stood erect, shooting across the land like a loosened arrow, leaving behind a scarlet afterimage, stirring scorching gales.
Gelrazax twisted its head; the two crimson beams followed closely behind, but they could not even catch up to the tip of Red Dragon's tail, striking instead the mountain.
The scarlet light caused one explosion after another, instantly disintegrating the hard rock it swept over.
"Boom—"
At once, the mountains wailed, stones flew, and several peaks were sheared off mid-height, collapsing one after another, stirring up towering dust clouds.
At that moment, the Ancytica Mountains looked like a host of immeasurable giants standing between heaven and earth, being mercilessly slaughtered by the Abyssal Giant Dragon.
Boiling Lava appeared where the beams had traversed, and this black-red Magma slowly flowed amidst the wreckage of the mountains, like the freshly spilled blood of those giants.
Only the distant Terry Peak still majestically stood tall, stubbornly displaying its stature as the "King of the Snowy Mountains."
"Tsks, such strength..."
Even Cassius couldn't help but turn his head, astounded by the power of the crimson beams.
Even with his current body, being hit by those two beams would likely result in severe injury, rendering him unable to continue the fight.
However, with Cassius's current agility, coupled with the predictive ability of Heaven's Calamity Dragon Eye, even this Demon Lord incarnated as an Abyssal Giant Dragon would find it difficult to hit him.
"Truly terrifying!"
At the moment the beams nearly touched his tail tip, Cassius suddenly spread his wings.
Red Dragon's powerful muscles swelled, and its gigantic body was almost vertical to the ground; with a series of sonic booms, it ascended hundreds of meters in an instant.
Cassius continued to fly high, tracing a graceful arc.
Then, he turned head over heels, his head pointing downward, slowly opening his mouth, as the Dragon Crystal on his chest shone once again.
"Crackle!"
Accompanied by the cracking sound of the air bursting, a white-hot Pillar of Fire spewed from his mouth, like divine retribution descending from the heavens, striking the top of the Abyssal Giant Dragon's head.
"Ao—"
The Abyssal Giant Dragon roared angrily, turning its head away, summoning the dense Chaotic mist to surge upward, forming a mottled Shield to block the falling Pillar of Fire.
However, the Red Dragon's Breath was immensely powerful, still containing a strand of the Divine Power of Order, piercing through the layers of dense mist, hitting directly at the neck of the Abyssal Giant Dragon.
"Boom!"
An intense Explosion appeared next to the head of the Abyssal Giant Dragon, scorching hundreds of its scales black and revealing the purple-black putrid flesh beneath, from which ichor flowed profusely along with black smoke.
It had been injured!
"Huff, huff..."
Gelrazax breathed heavily, wisps of blue smoke escaping from its profound eyes, and a stench-laden thick mist poured from its mouth.
It was evident that releasing beams of that caliber took a considerable toll on the Abyssal Giant Dragon.
Now, the Ancytica Mountains lay in complete disarray, with collapsed peaks, flowing Lava, steaming hot waters, and everywhere filled with the Abyss's toxic mist.
Countless Winged Demons, spawned from shadows and chaos, chaotically flew through the sky like bizarrely shaped clouds.
And then the nearly two hundred meters long Abyssal Giant Dragon raised its head again, it opened its great Abyssal maw and let out a long, angry roar.
Beneath the frenzy of its roar, an invisible shockwave instantly spread for thousands of miles, kicking up dust and smoke across the land.
"Come forth, progeny of The Abyss, I command you—devour this pitiable Red Dragon!
Let him return to the embrace of The Abyss, let him become nourishment for demons, let all things succumb to the end in chaos!"
Instantly, the tens of thousands of Winged Demons summoned by Gelrazax from The Abyss stirred within the Ancytica Mountains.
"Kill him! Kill him!"
"The Will of the Abyss watches over us!"
"By tearing this reptile apart, we can earn the blessing of The Abyss! We might even ascend to be Barlow Flame Demons!"
"Before Gelrazax, before the abyssal demons, this Red Dragon will be torn to shreds! Strip away his scales, feast on his flesh!"
