Chapter 322: The Fall of the Ancient Dragon
In the midst of the intense collision, the explosion spread wildly, with all sorts of energies intertwining, colliding, and converging, releasing thunderous blasts.
The shockwave expanded at an unimaginable speed, and the overflowing firelight almost shattered the entire Tiamat Barrier.
Even the surrounding space showed densely packed, web-like cracks, as if ready to be torn apart by this terrifying aftermath.
"God..."
"By Tiamat above!"
"O great Lord of Eternal Radiance!"
Outside that pitch-black barrier, no one could discern the situation within. Whether it was the soldiers of Seleucis or the cultists of the Dragon Worship Church, everyone waited anxiously for the outcome of this war.
Only the players wore relaxed expressions, as if watching a show, eager to dive into the battle themselves. Taking advantage of the stalemate between the two sides, they sneakily killed many isolated cultists.
Count Adrian gazed at the barrier in the distance, feeling the overwhelming aftermath, his brow furrowed, silently pondering:
"Lord Franz, was it right or wrong for me to involve the Ashen Empire in this war...?"
He had no other thoughts; the power of the Ashen Emperor was simply too terrifying and uncontrollable, leaving him terrified. Cooperating with him felt akin to hunting with a tiger.
Becoming allies with such an existence—would they really maintain autonomy? Or would they become a puppet regime like the Seleucid Royal Family?
Despite the turmoil in his heart, Adrian still hoped that the Ashen Emperor would achieve victory—preferably a costly, brutal victory.
After all, their soldiers couldn't possibly confront the Lord of the Rot Swamp, and if the Ancient Green Dragon won, he and his soldiers would inevitably die, becoming sacrifices for Tiamat.
Amidst the anticipation of all, a dazzling light emerged within that dark barrier, which even Tiamat's divine power couldn't conceal.
"Boom—"
Amid the muffled roar and the explosion, the pillar of fire spewed by Cassius was like a sharp crimson spike, piercing through the obstruction of the five-colored light beam from the center, tearing through the beam, breaking through the thick smoke, and striking directly at the distant Ancient Green Dragon.
"How... is this possible?"
Erebos' pupils suddenly shrank to pinpoints, his deep eyes filled with disbelief, as the arrogance that once surged within his heart seemed to suddenly shatter.
He was a Chosen One of "Tiamat's Eye," one of the Mother of Evil Dragons' emissaries in the mortal realm, and a highly esteemed five-colored dragon, the most promising candidate to become the next Dragon God.
——How could he be defeated by this lowly and insignificant Variant Dragon that hadn't even embarked on the path to demigodhood?
"Impossible! Variant Dragon! I've hidden for sixteen hundred years, sacrificing countless mortals, how could I lose to a mongrel like you?"
Erebos let out an enraged roar, raising the Dragon Bone Staff high, his eyes bursting with divine power that chilled the soul.
The five-headed phantom looming over the land, occupying half the sky, blocked in front of him, opening its bloodthirsty mouth to unleash a furious roar from deep within its throat.
"Roar—"
The divine light in the dragon's eyes of various colors intertwined splendidly, forming a torrent that solidified space, with countless illusory five-colored dragons dancing wildly within it.
Tiamat's domain!
In this divine realm that descended upon the worldly realm, Cassius' actions were infinitely slowed, and the pillar of fire from his mouth became agonizingly slow, spreading at a tortoise pace.
The phantoms of the five-colored dragons roared and lunged at Cassius, clinging madly to the massive body of the Emperor of the Crimson Dragon, biting, tearing, and clawing as if a school of bloodthirsty piranhas, sending scales and flesh flying everywhere.
"In the name of Tiamat—I bestow upon you the most painful fate!"
And Erebos, too, flapped his dragon wings, soaring into the air, raising the Dragon Bone Staff, poised to deliver the final blow to Cassius.
But just then, cracks appeared in the solidified space, and the phantoms of the five-colored dragons wailed, engulfed by the flames bursting from the Red Dragon's body, dissolving into countless points of light.
And Cassius, with his formidable, muscular body, forcefully shattered the divine power's seal, breaking through this so-called "Tiamat's domain."
"Boom!!!"
With a world-shattering roar, this solidified realm resumed its flow, and the rampaging dragonflame incinerated the phantom of the five-headed dragon, scattering it, then rushed towards the mountain-like body of the Ancient Green Dragon.
"No—"
Erebos unleashed a roar of agony, divine power surging from his eyes, yet still unable to stop the oncoming Dragon Breath.
The thick pillar of fire struck viciously at its chest, instantly melting through the heavy scales, then incinerating the filthy flesh, even piercing the heart that had devoured countless wronged souls.
The dragonflame continued to rampage inside the Ancient Green Dragon, madly burning everything within, turning that polluted flesh entirely into ashes.
And so, a massive, scorched crater appeared in the chest of the Ancient Green Dragon, its wings drooping, the nearly hollowed-out body burned by the dragonflame falling powerlessly to the ground, crashing heavily, causing the earth to roar incessantly, creating a giant crater.
But even so, Erebos still did not die.
Being a demigod giant dragon, he possessed the trait of immortality, and even with fatal injuries, or being shattered to pieces and burned to ashes, he would gradually gather in a corner of the Multiverse over countless years, eventually resurrecting.
