Ashen Dragon

Chapter 281: Bloody Battle

The Deep Dragons were clever and selfish creatures by nature, and upon witnessing their companions fall, they almost immediately turned around, flapping their wings to flee, releasing clouds of toxic mist behind them to obscure vision and block pursuit.

But the Half-Elf Paladin was not about to give them such an opportunity.

"Swoosh—"

A sword light, dozens of meters long, sliced through, cutting the toxic mist apart and creating a massive gap.

Immediately following, Rhea, transformed into the Avenging Angel, flew swiftly forward and closed in on one of the Deep Dragons, getting within twenty meters of it.

The Deep Dragon, in a panic, flapped its wings frantically and swung its tail, bristling with venomous spikes, behind it, trying to swat Rhea out of the sky.

But Rhea remained unfazed, with a gentle flap of her wings, she turned into a fleeting shadow, dodging the Deep Dragon's tail before slashing diagonally mid-air, releasing a twilight glow from her blade.

"Slash—"

With the sound of flesh tearing, filthy blood sprayed, and an entire wing of the Deep Dragon was severed. Losing its balance, it plummeted from the sky, its wails echoing above.

Rhea tucked in her wings, gripping the Silver Sword with both hands, its tip pointed toward the ground, and dived rapidly.

"Boom!"

The Deep Dragon crashed heavily onto the ground, creating a pit over ten meters wide, sending dust and rubble flying.

It bled profusely, its bones shattered from the violent impact, leaving it writhing helplessly on the ground, emitting a shrill wail.

However, in the next moment, its wail came to an abrupt halt.

Rhea descended from the sky, driving the sharp Silver Sword through the Deep Dragon's skull, ending its filthy existence and pinning it to the ground.

Rhea withdrew the Silver Sword, and with a simple flick of her wrist, the blade emitted a radiance, purifying the tainted blood, rendering it clean and smooth once more.

"Two more..."

She lifted her gaze, looking toward the distant Deep Dragons that were desperately fleeing.

These creatures, known as "Underground Giant Dragons," were not mindless Dragon Beasts but true dragons, with intelligence and strength comparable to the White Dragons, the weakest of the five-colored dragons.

Seeing their companions dead, they clearly understood the difference in strength and stopped flaunting, splitting up and fleeing toward the distant Abyss Gate.

But soon, a massive golden figure appeared in the sky, engulfed in flames, moving at incredible speed, catching up with one of the Deep Dragons almost instantly—it was "Dawn Wings" Titus.

"Boom!"

Titus unleashed a searing fireball from his mouth, charring half of the Deep Dragon's body. With a wail, the Deep Dragon wobbled mid-air, barely able to keep flying.

Titus pressed the attack, swiping with his massive claw, sending the Deep Dragon flying.

The Deep Dragon's vision spun, unable to discern direction, and ended up hurtling directly toward the Ancient Gold Dragon's thick chest.

Titus opened his mouth, spewing scorching flames from deep in his throat, hitting the Deep Dragon's face. The grotesque and ugly head shrank rapidly in the flames, turning into charred remains, emitting the scent of cooked meat.

As the Deep Dragon's large body plummeted from the sky, it crashed into the ground, crushing over a dozen Spider Monsters beneath it.

"Howl—"

Watching one pack member after another die, the remaining Deep Dragon let out a panicked cry, ignoring the Spider-Els angered scolding, charging headlong toward the Abyss Gate.

However, a familiar figure appeared before it—clad in Silver Armor, wings of Black, it was the Avenger Paladin, Rhea.

The Deep Dragon displayed despair, pleading, "Half-Elf, spare my life, we have no grievance, I am willing to be your servant..."

"No grievance?"

Rhea's expression was cold, and shadowy figures of hundreds of Silver Moon Elves emerged behind her.

They were soldiers who died under the Deep Dragon's poison mist, their strong will at the moment of death coalescing into the blazing fire of vengeance, the spirits of retribution.

"Ridiculous! Filthy monster, you must pay with your life!"

Rhea shouted angrily, swinging the Silver Sword with force, while the avenging spirits roared and surged forward, their immense power wearing down the Deep Dragon's will, causing its actions to become extremely sluggish.

"Swoosh—"

Blood sprayed forth, the head suddenly flew off, and the headless corpse crashed to the ground, crushing over a hundred monsters, blocking the entrance of the Abyss Gate like a small mountain.

But thousands of monsters had already gathered around, surging like a mottled flood, overwhelming the sky, seeking to use their numbers to kill the Half-Elf Paladin.

Rhea remained fearless, her expression resolute, raising the Silver Sword high.

Holy Light Wheel!

The twilight glow released from the sword rapidly expanded, covering a radius of nearly a hundred meters with the Silver Sword at its center, forming a giant Light Wheel.

Any monster that entered the Light Wheel without exception burst into flames, cloaked in black smoke, emitting anguished screams, like Vampires exposed to sunlight, turning into charred remains within moments.

Immediately, a roar came from the sky, the Ancient Gold Dragon unfurled its wings, casting a giant shadow, enveloping countless abyssal creatures.

He dived rapidly, skimming over the ground, unleashing a cone of Flame Breath from his mouth. In mere moments, the surroundings turned into a sea of flames, incinerating countless abyssal creatures to death.

"Quick! Close that Abyss Gate! Use the Silver Moon Goddess' power!" Titus shouted.

Over a dozen Abyssal Drakes had surrounded them. Titus spewed fire, forcing them back, but these Drakes launched attacks from different directions, continually harassing him, causing some trouble for the Ancient Gold Dragon, and the situation became a stalemate.
