Ascension of the strongest God

Chapter 12: Deal with those who mess with me

"No gods?"

Weren't gods beings who held unimaginable power?

Power that could shred planets in an instant.

Flatten mountains with a casual wave of the hand.

Part seas with a glance.

There was no limit to the type of power a god could possess.

What could possibly be stronger than a god?

"No one knows. They all disappeared... And what you're seeing here, this entire world... is a shattered realm belonging to one of those gods."

The weight of Alexa's words smashed in like a sledgehammer.

This only meant that they were living in a small world, having not even the littlest idea what was going on outside.

'So Orion didn't leave, rather... he ran?'

That was the only possibility he could think up.

Orion left before the realm gates tore open in their world...

That could only mean that he knew it was coming, and he had to leave before it arrived.

What could make a god flee?

'Does that mean some gods are still around and hiding? Or what?... And what role do I have to play? What's this god candidate stuff all about?'

Of course, Kieran couldn't tell Alexa his thoughts—it was merely speculation.

Since even she didn't know about Orion and had even called him a lower god.

"You said I have a father or something?"

Kieran asked the second question that bothered him.

Why would his parents leave him as an orphan?

If they were gods, couldn't they take care of their children?

"Yes, your father... He was not a 'god,' or at least he didn't take the title..."

"...."

Kieran stared blankly at her.

"But he was called the uncrowned god?"

"Yes... Typhon was called the uncrowned god. Usually, one can only be given the title of god after fully gaining control of their constitution..."

"Unfortunately, Typhon had a brother who had a similar constitution to his... Two people cannot be given the title of god over a single constitution, so he had to fight his younger brother... Guess what happened?"

"He lost?"

Alexa didn't answer immediately. She paused, gazing far off into the distance.

"He didn't lose, rather... he gave up the title to his younger brother. He had no interest in bearing the title of a god."

"Is that even possible? Why would someone refuse such a title? What was he thinking...?"

Kieran didn't know much about the godly world, but at least he knew such a title would by no means be a small one.

Why would someone refuse it?

"I don't know myself," Alexa let out a sigh.

"...Some say the other gods were trying to put a leash on his neck if he accepted the title..."

"A leash on his neck? Was he strong enough to be a problem for gods who had already mastered their own constitutions?"

"Oh, Typhon was strong, alright... He would've never been called an uncrowned god if he wasn't... Who would've known his descendant would be so weak," Alexa added with a disappointed look.

Kieran rolled his eyes at the phoenix.

Arguing with her was pointless, and partly, she was telling the truth.

He had realized this after he had to use such a powerful attack to destroy a little troll.

"Well, that aside, I'll tell you more about your godly parent later. First, you have to find a way out of this realm."

Alexa walked up to the crackling flames and pulled out the thick skin that hung above them.

She tossed it towards Kieran.

"Put something on... I can't keep looking at that."

"So you..."

"No! Stop that! I'm not interested!" Her cheeks shone with a hint of red as she stomped away, leaving him.

"It won't even cover me properly. I'll need more animal skin. I can only manage this for now."

Kieran wrapped the thick skin around himself, covering his body.

His muscles ached all over, and he could barely walk.

He also noticed his skin had turned pale white in color, as though he had lost a lot of blood.

"Just one technique cleared up almost all my strength... This is the side effect of using ten times the power of an immortal beast summon?"

Kieran looked at his hands in amazement.

He never expected his powers to be so incredible.

And now he realized that he had ignored the descriptions of his skills without fully checking them.

'I have to understand these powers better.' He clenched his fist, and with just the thought, the system screen blared to life in front of his eyes.

{Talent Type: SSS-Rank}

{Class: Summoning}

{Description: Summon Immortals... mythical beings who can live forever! Contract them, and have undying servants!}

{Condition I: Note: First Summon has used up Karma. Summon will now be done with Realm Points (RP).}

{RP is earned from each monster killed within a realm. The amount of RP earned depends on the godly power retained in the beings within the realm.}

{Condition II: Pain}

'Huh?' Kieran was stunned by the second condition.

Why was pain a requirement for the activation of his technique?

"Aren't you done already? These beasts can't keep their eyes off you," Alexa said lazily as she returned.

She walked gracefully, her gait like that of royalty.

"Beasts?"

Since she had killed some beasts to get the skin and the stacked meat, Kieran assumed that she must've taken action while he was sleeping.

"Of course... Did you think I killed them all? That's not my work," she yawned.

"I left them for you... They'll be good for training. I won't work for someone who would rely on me for everything," she scoffed.

Kieran looked down at his palm.

"You know, you're right... I won't rely on you. I don't want to rely on you. I want to become stronger, so I can make them feel pain the same way they did to me."

His words were slow and deliberate.

Dripping with a coldness that could be felt even in hell.

He could remember the promise he had made to himself earlier if he was to get his powers.

'I will deal with anyone who messes with me.'

And this thought only brought four people to his mind.

"I'll kill them myself."
