Chapter 30: Run before they catch you!
You leaned against the cold stone edge of the balcony, elbows resting heavily as your gaze traveled beyond the lush, manicured gardens. The road stretched out in the distance, winding its way to the gates at the very edge of the estate. It was quiet, the kind of silence that allowed your thoughts to spiral, but then you saw it—the sleek, unmistakable form of Satoru's Rolls-Royce gliding up the driveway.
Your heart raced, and your eyes lit up with a mix of excitement and mischief. Without another thought, you spun on your heels, bolting inside. The marble floor was cold against your bare feet as you sprinted downstairs, snatching the keys from the hook near the front door.
You could hear the hurried footsteps and startled gasps of the maids as they noticed your frenzied rush. "Miss, wait!" one called out, panic lacing her tone. But you didn't stop.
They caught up to you just as you reached the main entrance, their hands grabbing at your arms to restrain you. Anger flared in your chest, and with a sharp shove, you pushed the nearest one to the ground. Another reached for you, but you twisted free, your elbow connecting with her ribs. The third maid tried to grab your wrist, and you screamed, yanking her hair until she stumbled back, wide-eyed and frightened.
"Stay out of my way!" you snarled, fury burning in your voice as you unlocked the heavy door.
The maids hesitated now, their fear palpable. They exchanged nervous glances, retreating slightly as you pushed the door open and burst into the moonlight. The bodyguards stationed nearby snapped to attention, their expressions shifting from indifference to alarm as they realized what was happening.
"Stop her!" one of them barked, but you were already running, your bare feet pounding against the gravel path after you shook off your heels.
The sound of their heavy boots grew closer, and you knew you wouldn't outrun them. Desperation surged through you as you spotted the well-trained dogs lounging near the fountain. Without hesitation, you shouted for help from the dogs, "Go get them, dear puppies! Go!"
The dogs perked up, ears twitching as they turned toward the commotion. With a sharp bark, they sprang into action, charging toward the bodyguards. The men skidded to a halt, their confident expressions replaced with panic as the dogs closed in.
"Damn it dude, let's run!" one of them cursed, turning and bolting in the opposite direction. The others followed suit, scrambling to escape the snarling jaws snapping at their heels.
A triumphant laugh burst out of you as you glanced over your shoulder, watching the bodyguards stumble and scatter under the onslaught of the snarling dogs. Your smirk widened as you kept running, the gravel crunching under your feet as you made a beeline toward the gate.
Ahead, you saw the securities beginning to swing the heavy iron gates wide open, the sleek Rolls-Royce inching its way toward the estate. Your breath hitched in exhilaration, your mind racing.
Which way should I take? Left or right?! you thought, continuing to run, "right it is then!" You decided.
The car rolled to a halt as the driver caught sight of you barreling down the driveway, and you caught a glimpse of Satoru's white hair as he leaned forward from his seat at the back. His head tilted slightly, his expression shifting from curiosity to sharp realization as his piercing eyes locked on you.
"Hey!" Satoru barked at the securities at the gate, his voice carrying across the area. "Catch her!"
The securities froze for a moment before snapping into action, abandoning their posts at the gate and turning toward you.
But you weren't about to give them the chance. Gritting your teeth, you veered sharply to the right, dodging the Rolls-Royce and darting past it. You felt Satoru's intense gaze burning into you as you ran, his exasperated shout echoing behind you.
"Are you serious right now, stupid wife?!"
You didn't stop to answer. With the gates now wide open, freedom was within your reach. The guards scrambled to chase after you, but you were too quick, slipping past the wrought iron barriers before they could close them again.
Your lungs burned and your legs ached, but the thrill of escaping made it all worth it. You glanced back once, catching sight of the chaos behind you—dogs chasing the securities now, and Satoru glaring daggers at you from the backseat of the car.
A victorious grin spread across your face as you turned back, the wind whipping through your hair. "Catch me if you can, losers!" you shouted at the men chasing you, laughing breathlessly as you disappeared beyond the gate.
You ran as fast as your legs could carry you, the adrenaline pumping through your veins keeping you just ahead of the guards. But the sound of their heavy boots pounding against the ground grew louder, closer, and panic surged in your chest.
You glanced over your shoulder, your eyes widening as you saw them gaining on you. "They're close!" you shouted, your voice trembling as you gulped down air. Sweat trickled down your temples as you pushed yourself harder. Run! Run before they catch you, idiot!
But no matter how fast you moved, they were faster. You felt a hand grab your arm, then another wrapping around your waist. A gasp escaped you as you stumbled, their grip firm and unrelenting.
"Let go! Let go, you idiots! Let go!!!" you screamed, thrashing against their hold with every ounce of strength you had. Your hands clawed at their arms, your legs kicking wildly as you tried to wriggle free. "Madam says to let go!" you yelled, hoping to confuse them enough to loosen their grip.
It didn't work. The guards tightened their hold, dragging you backward step by step. Your voice rose to a desperate shout, echoing across the quiet villas. "Help! Somebody, help!"
You hoped someone—anyone—would hear and come to your rescue, but the guards weren't about to let that happen. One of them clamped a hand over your mouth, muffling your cries.
"Mmm-mm!!!" you groaned, your muffled protests filled with frustration and fury as they continued pulling you back toward the estate.
Your feet dragged against the gravel, your body resisting with every ounce of strength left in you, but it felt like a losing battle. Your wide eyes darted around, searching for any sign of an ally, but all you could see were the distant villas and the cold, unhelpful stares of the few onlookers peeking through their windows.
Satoru's car was still parked near the gate, and as you caught a glimpse of him stepping out, you couldn't decide whether it was anger or amusement dancing in his eyes. This is so not over, you thought, your heart racing as you continued to fight.
The doors slammed shut as Satoru dragged you into the house, his grip like iron. His voice boomed, "You dare to run away from me, woman!"
The maids froze in fear, bowing low despite his young age. Even the older ones trembled under his commanding presence.
You quickly blurted, brining up an excuse to why you wanted to escape, "I broke my phone, okay? I just wanted to get it fixed."
The truth was that you couldn't bear staying in that place that felt like a haunted mansion to you.
He spun to face you, his glare sharp. "Bullshit! You could've waited and told me!"
Startled, you stammered, "No, but I'm telling the truth."
Satoru leaned in, his voice low and accusing. "I know what you were doing. You saw a chance to run when the gates opened."
Before you could respond, he tightened his grip and dragged you upstairs, his voice firm. "Enough. We'll settle this in private."
Satoru shoved you into the bedroom, the door slamming shut behind him. With a forceful push, he sent you onto the bed violently, your head jolting slightly as you hit the mattress.
He stood there for a moment, seething, before ripping his tie from around his neck and tossing it aside. His movements were swift and deliberate as he climbed on top of you, pinning your wrists to the bed with a firm grip.
His piercing eyes locked onto yours, filled with a cold intensity that made your heart race. The weight of his stare was suffocating, his expression dark and unreadable as he leaned in closer.
Satoru's lips curled into an evil smirk as he leaned closer, his voice low and malice. "Pathetic much? You disobedient bitch," he taunted, his piercing gaze never leaving yours.
Before you could respond , his hands moved with swift precision, grabbing at your clothing and tearing the fabric apart with anger as if it was nothing. You let out a terrified scream, thrashing beneath him.
"Let go!" You shouted, desperately trying to push him off, but his grip on your wrists tightened, pinning you firmly in place. His smirk only deepened as he watched you struggle, feeding off your fear and resistance.
Satoru's grip tightened on your wrists, his body looming over yours with an intensity that made your chest tighten. He was about to rip off your panties and bite your neck at the same time, but in a split second, your instinct for survival kicked in. You lifted one of your thighs, pushing against his chest, using your knee to slam into his balls with a sharp, forceful motion.
The impact made him snap back, and for a brief moment, his grip loosened, giving you the opportunity to retaliate further, holding his balls through his pangs. With a quick twist of your body, you used your other knee to drive into his stomach. The force of the blow made him grunt in pain, and before he could recover, you pushed with all your might, rolling him off you and sending him crashing to the floor.
You scrambled to your feet, heart pounding in your chest as you looked down at him. His face twisted in pain, but there was no immediate fury in his expression—just a cold, calculating calm. You froze for a moment, your breath coming in quick, shallow bursts.
"Did I worsen the situation?" you whispered to yourself, eyes wide in panic as you watched him struggle to push himself up. The fear that you had crossed a line gnawed at you. You had wanted to break free, not escalate the conflict further. Would this make things worse?
For a brief moment, Satoru's cold gaze met yours, a mixture of frustration, pain and something else flickering in his eyes. His lips curled into a smirk, but there was an edge to it, one that you couldn't quite read. "You think you can hurt me and get away with it?!"
You took a step back, unsure of what was coming next.
