Arcane Journey
Chapter 359
Chapter 359
This battle ended sooner than the female commander Mirabetta had imagined.
The shadow people and the followers of the Lost Lady stationed in Sergante City were wiped out by Sembia's army without making much waves.
Even the floating city Sacross, which Mirabeta was most worried about, did not come to support in this battle.
Although in this plan for the film fans, the female barbarian Brunhiti who was responsible for assassinating the ghost prince Ecacia and destroying the Shadow Stone made a mistake, but without the support of the floating city, their plan did not fail. .
As night approached, everything in the palace fell silent.
Since Mirabetta, with the support of the ghost princes, successfully passed the highest election council and became the female commander of the Kingdom of Sembia, many old nobles have been deprived of their positions by her through various means, and all those in power have become her own. cronies.
Although there were many people secretly dissatisfied with Mirabetta, due to the powerful strength of the Princes of Shadow and Sister Terina of Glory, no one dared to stand up against her openly.
Today, the group of shadow people from the Ennook Desert who caused great turmoil in the Kingdom of Sambia has been completely eradicated by Mirabetta's army, which means that she is about to become the real ruler of the Kingdom of Sambia By.
For Mirabeta, this is undoubtedly something to be happy about.
But every time she thinks back to why she has everything, she deeply understands that becoming the ruler of Sembia may just be the beginning for her.
This is just the beginning... She kept telling herself so in her heart.
In the quiet side hall, all the palace guards have retreated, and in the empty hall, there is only Mirabetta, the female commander.
"Cuckoo..."
Accompanied by a strange and frivolous laughter, a hazy figure appeared.
This is a girl, to be exact, a peerless existence that can make everyone dumbfounded and hold their breath.
Fair and flawless skin, a small nose, pink lips slightly raised, with a charming smile that is pure and full of temptation.
She seems to be a collection of contradictions of innocence and temptation. She looks so ignorant of the world, but reveals a fatal allure.
Every time she saw Sister Hui Yao's "Pure" Terina appearing in front of her in this way, even Mirabetta, who was a woman, couldn't help but feel her heartbeat start to speed up.
Mirabetta did not deliberately hide her expression. As usual, she looked at Terina with longing eyes, and asked in a charming voice, "How, have you found it?"
While speaking, she had unknowingly arrived in front of Jie Linna.
Although their plan for moviegoers and followers of the Lost Lady has been successfully completed, it doesn't mean that Jielina won't pursue the details.
Brunhiti broke the contract with Terina, she simply thought that she could escape by committing suicide, but she didn't know that her stupid approach had completely pushed her into the bottomless abyss.
She could even imagine what kind of humiliation and imprisonment the other party would experience.
"I have imprinted my own mark on her soul in advance, so it is easy to find her soul in Styx." Jielina smiled sweetly like a girl, "I have to say , This is really a soul of good quality."
A fist-sized ball of light flashed from Sister Hui Yao's palm.
She looked at the ball of light, a cruel smile appeared on the corner of her mouth, and her white fingers ruthlessly squeezed it into the shape of a pebble, in which a phantom of a painful soul could be faintly seen.
"It's interesting, she doesn't seem to have given up hope yet?" Terina glanced at it with interest, and said playfully, "I like this kind of toy the most."
"I don't know how long you can last in my hands." She said with a smile, "As a betrayer, I hope you can bring me short-term pleasure."
Mirabetta had already guessed how Brunhetti would end.
Her soul will be reborn in the abyss, and after being reincarnated by Terina, she will lose most of her memory. If she has not lost herself, then she may go to the most difficult road of "soul salvation".
In this process, she has a very high probability of losing herself and sinking into the abyss completely.
"We not only cleaned up the moviegoers in the Kingdom of Sambia, but also destroyed all the temples of the Lost Lady." Mirabeta was not affected by this unexpected episode, but asked the question she was most concerned about right now. "Will this cause the hatred of the Church of the Lost Lady?"
"Then let them be hostile." Terina's indifferent look reassured Mirabetta, "Ms. Lost may soon be in trouble, not to mention her hidden churches. She can't threaten us."
"Besides..." She looked very happy, and even when she spoke, the corners of her mouth unconsciously evoked a striking smile, "About two years later, there will be huge turmoil in the Underdark, and the bottomless abyss will be destroyed." The incarnations of most demon lords are likely to appear in the material world, and this feast full of killings will become the home of demons."
Mirabeta nodded secretly.
As a follower of the succubus queen Meikanxiet, she is undoubtedly the most trustworthy person of Terina, so she naturally learned about the future turmoil in the Underdark from her mouth.
The real purpose of Terina's seclusion in the Sambia Kingdom in advance is to complete the plan of the Succubus Queen against the demon prince Demogorgon.
"Although in this battle, the Floating Void City of the Movie People did not come to support." Terina played with Brunhetti's Soul Stone, "But Brunhiti's betrayal still caused us a lot of trouble. Obstacles, if I hadn't consumed a lot of soul crystals and summoned a group of abyssal demons, it would not have been possible to capture the Lost Lady's temple so easily."
"Then what do you mean?" Mirabetta looked stunned. She looked at Sister Hui Yao calmly, trying to find the flaws she had exposed due to excessive power consumption.
"I need a soul." Terina said her intentions.
"There are a lot of powerful souls. We only have two years left. The gradual approach is still too slow. It will have a great impact on our next plan. I can't be taken advantage of by other sisters."
Mirabetta understood Terina's meaning.
Although she has been continuously providing souls since she became the commander of Sembia, these are lowly males, the lowest level of commoners, and what they need is a professional soul with good talent and strength.
In this case, they need to find a way to start with the army or adventurer mercenaries.
"Leave this matter to me." Mirabetta nodded, "I will try my best to collect more powerful souls for you."
Without the restrictions of the ghost princes, as the ruler of the Sambia Kingdom, if she wants to quietly search for souls, although it is more troublesome for her, it is just troublesome.
"Then what should we do next..." She asked thoughtfully.
"Next, I think we can wait for a while."
Sister Hui Yao stuck out her tongue and licked her lips, her pure and sweet pretty face showed a charming aura in great contrast.
"After being busy for so long, I finally drove away this group of annoying moviegoers. Don't you plan to relax completely tonight?"
In an instant, the delicate body of Sembia's female commander began to tremble, a strange blush appeared on her face, and her clear eyes became confused in an instant.
"Yeah, I'm also starting to miss...the happy time we had together." Mirabeta said softly, panting.
Seeing Mirabetta's fierce reaction, Sister Hui Yao's sweet laughter was like a simple girl walking cheerfully in the sun.
Her delicate body twisted gently, and was about to take the next step, but suddenly felt a scorching energy, which suddenly permeated the air.
Immediately afterwards, she felt a sharp knife mercilessly thrust into her chest, crushing her beating heart.
This sharp blade was like a red-hot iron, making the blood from her wound turn into fiery torrents and spread to Terina's whole body.
Sister Radiance tried to fight back, but found an unknown force field energy emerging out of nowhere, preventing her from using any divine, spell-like, and supernatural abilities.
Inexplicable despair filled Terina's heart.
She staggered away from Mirabetta, her eyes widened in disbelief, and she looked at the female commander whose expression suddenly became indifferent.
"This is... the glorious blade of the Lord of Dawn. It seems that you have prepared well, and it must have been planned for a long time."
She resisted the fierce pain in her chest that burned her soul, took a breath, looked down at the light blade burning with hot flames, and asked calmly, "You...why did you do this?"
"Why?" replied Mirabeta in a voice that was almost growling. "Why did I do this! Don't you understand?"
"Although my future destiny has been determined since the day I was born, in the warlock family, even if I don't have the blood of a warlock, I can at least be a noble lady who has no worries about food and clothing." She stared fiercely at the dying sister Hui Yao , "I used to be a noble lady, I had everything I dreamed of, until your appearance completely ended my carefree life."
Mirabetta still cannot forget the day that changed her destiny.
Terina, the sleazy bitch, had secretly manipulated her mother into ordering a killer to kill her in the forest.
Then she controlled the killer, let him rape her, and ransacked her.
So much for her life as a noble lady, and then a life of dirt, hunger, stench, and abuse.
In order to survive, in exchange for a bowl of hot soup, or a shelter from the rain for one night, she even sold herself to those old homeless...
"I think you must have misunderstood." Terina said, "I saved you. If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't be able to get where you are today. You would have died in a prison full of urine."
"If I break your leg." Mirabetta sneered, "and then give you a pair of crutches, will you also thank me in tears?"
She had long been secretly aware of the methods of the Hui Yao nuns. In Terina's eyes, Mirabetta was just one of countless girls who had the same experience.
It was precisely because she survived in the end that she was chosen by the opponent.
Terina was silent for a moment, and tried in vain to use ineffective magic to stop the wounds on her chest from spreading. "It seems that you already know some truths."
"But that's not the reason for you to kill me." She said calmly, "You are my mother's believer, even if you die, you will be branded as the Succubus Queen, so killing me will not do you any good , you can't fail to understand this."
"Really?" Mirabetta looked at Sister Hui Yao with mocking eyes.
She slowly took off her clothes, her fair and delicate skin emerged, and there was a very strange bright red tattoo on her chest near her ribs.
On closer inspection, it looks like a red lip pierced by a sharp thread.
The red lips are so alluring, as if they are full of shocking beauty, and some kind of power that lures people into the deepest darkness.
Seeing Mirabeta's mark clearly, Terina's face became quite ugly in an instant.
She finally couldn't control her expression, and screamed like a shrew, "Impossible! This is absolutely impossible, how could you know the most taboo pleasing ritual of the Succubus Queen, this is impossible, this is impossible, this is absolutely not real!"
"Who told you that!" She asked angrily with the last bit of strength in her body.
"It doesn't matter anymore, Terina dear."
Seeing the distraught look of Sister Hui Yao who was on the verge of death, Mirabetta felt extremely comfortable in her heart. She took the initiative to lean into his ear and said softly:
"You just need to know... from today onwards, I will be the sister of the Succubus Queen's Glory, and the real ruler of the Sambia Kingdom, that's all."
"As for you..." Before she finished speaking, Terina was completely reduced to ashes in the flames erupting from the blade of brilliance.
…………
The flickering torches in the corridor cast a dull, eerie light.
Lamorak, Prince of Shadows, opened his eyes. In the muddy darkness, he felt cold all over his body. Being a ghost was a feeling he had long forgotten.
As he tried to recall what had happened, a severe headache sent the world shaking.
His ears were buzzing, as if someone was breathing deeply or growling into his ears, every inch of his ribs was aching, and his brain was as heavy as his eyelids.
He vaguely remembered that he had left the floating city of Sacross. Even without Agrila's help, he managed to open an entrance to the Realm of the Magic Web through his own efforts.
Facing the Lost Lady Shar, he didn't stupidly choose to confront her like Breners, nor did he cowardly accept his fate like Agrila, but chose to escape.
In his opinion, only by escaping to the realm of the magic web, the territory of the goddess of magic Mystra, can he get rid of the control of the Lost Lady.
Then he can hide here until he finds a way to break free from the shadow magic net's control.
He has always firmly believed that the magic he mastered is a mysterious and powerful force that countless arcane seekers have spent their entire lives trying to understand.
Given him time, he can use the power and knowledge brought by the arcane to help him overcome any obstacles.
Although he found the way to the realm of the magic net, an accident that even he himself didn't know happened because of it.
For a moment, Lamorac thought he had awakened from some dormant sleep.
The drops of water that fell on his forehead reminded him of the Coiled Viper inn in Sergante.
A vaguely disturbing voice brought him back to a certain guest room where he stayed when visiting the slums of Sambia.
The salty smell in the air mixed with saliva, rotting, and dried excrement reminded him again of Askatra's 'Harpy of the Bid' inn, whose name sounded like it was taken from a local legend, but was actually named after it. Because of its tight bed.
Lamorak realized, however, that his cheek against the cold stone was not the harpy's comfortable mattress.
He stroked his body with his hands and blinked.
He felt a mix of damp fur, mold, and human filth.
He could almost hear the decades-long prisoner's prayers going unanswered.
"This is a prison cell." Lamorac said sitting up, thankful that he could still move.
He sniffed, frowned, and then focused on a dim red glow, the only source of light in the corridor.
Lamorac tiptoed towards the light source, but felt his steps stagger, like the feeling of being slightly drunk from the wine brewed in Feather Valley.
Ignoring this feeling, Lamorac began to check the exits.
A row of blades and rods, folded and fitted together like a gifted child's puzzle, constituted the cell door, opened or closed by a moving lever mechanism.
Lamorrak had a hunch that in the future this might be recognized as a marvel of ingenious engineering.
The door was intricately constructed, forged with magic, like the ones Lamorrak had seen in the floating cities of Netheril.
This made him instantly realize that the person who imprisoned him was most likely related to the Netherese.
Just as he was thinking wildly, the door of the cell suddenly opened, and a figure covered in black robes floated in like a ghost.
When Lamorac saw the terrifying face of the black-robed figure clearly, he couldn't help exclaiming, "Lamorac, why are you here?"
"Why am I here?" LaRock replied in a low voice. "In fact, I should ask you how you are here."
"What the hell is going on here?" Lamorac was filled with fear.
In a daze, he realized that the magic net realm he stepped into turned out to be one of Lalock's lairs, which made him instantly feel hopeless.
"It seems that you have already figured it out." Laroque's deep voice echoed in the cell, "Prince Lamorac, if possible, please forgive me. In fact, I have no malice towards you."
"Then why do you keep me locked up here?" Hearing these words, Lamorac struggled to get up, as if he had found the last chance.
"I said it was to pay off the debt, do you believe it?" Lalock said slowly.
"Pay the debt?" Lamorac was stunned.
"Indeed, repay the debt." Laroch replied seriously, "Everyone owes a similar debt. This is life, Prince Lamorrak."
"Debt, duty, gratitude, repayment...doing something for someone. Perhaps, really for ourselves? Because the truth is that we owe our debts to ourselves, not others. Whenever we owe something, we must owe it to ourselves. Pay it off, we are debtors and creditors at the same time, the important thing is whether we can settle the account in our hearts. Since we came into this world, we were given life, and since then, our behavior of paying debts has not stopped , to ourselves, for ourselves, and for that account to finally be settled."
"I don't understand what you're talking about," said Lamorac, his lips trembling with fear. "I...I...I don't know what I owe you."
"None of that matters, my dear prince," said Laroque in a gentle voice:
"I know, you're suffering, and I'm standing around watching the jokes like a bad old woman. So boy, let's close the curtain and set you free."
Lamorac suddenly felt that his body was as cold as ice, and every effortful breathing would cause a burst of heart-piercing pain.
Just as he was about to open his mouth to plead, he felt an invisible magic rope blocking all words.
His feet left the ground, and the rope sank deep into his skeletal throat.
And then up, he spasms, kicks, struggles...
But all he was left with was rising, rising, rising...
At the last dying moment of his life, he seemed to hear the playful laughter of children, which came from afar...Marionette, shake, shake, little puppet, head down and feet upside down...
