Chapter 999: Help to Advance
Just like what Vale had expected, the bidding war didn't stop…
One by one, the VIPs and other representatives of large organizations started showing some interest in the corpse.
After all, Time Manipulators, even in the Shadow Realm, were extremely rare… They were almost always able to escape at any given time as long as they put their mind to it. Their whole existence was like a mystery even for Immortals who hadn't grasped any Time-Related abilities.
"…6,200 Divine Crystals."
Vale stayed silent, waiting as the back-and-forth slowly escalated. Then… He joined once again.
"…6,800 Divine Crystals."
"…7,000 Divine Crystals."
Vale exhaled and added a bit more strength to his next offer.
"…7,500 Divine Crystals."
The crowd hushed for a moment as many of them couldn't bring out such a huge number of Divine Crystals. After all, having just more than 5,000 seemed to be too difficult since Divinity must be maintained in order to retain youth, strength, and a chance to advance to the next stage of Immortality.
Only those organizations that could pool out large amounts of Divine Crystals should be able to compete at this level.
But then… a new voice.
It was from a young man brimming with peculiar calm.
"One million Arcane Crystals and 10,000 Divine Crystals."
The room froze.
The bidder didn't just give a million Arcane Crystals, but they also offered the highest bid so far…
'This price was already over my budget.'
Vale frowned. He scanned the young man with Divine Sense, but whoever it was remained shrouded using some tool or just its own defensive spell.
Vale sighed in defeat.
There was no point. Even Sabrina and the others only looked at the young man and stopped their bidding.
"Sold. To Booth Nine for one million Arcane Crystals and 10,000 Divine Crystals."
Vale clenched his fists as he heard this…
He still had his first corpse. But he needed one more.
As he focused on the bidding once again, he heard a familiar voice whispering to him.
"Don't feel frustrated… That young man is from the Central Shadow Alliance… He's a Sky Immortal."
The voice was from Sabrina, and it was a message through telepathy…
Vale wanted to ask a few more questions, but she left no traces, and he couldn't even reply.
It just showed how much more powerful she was…
In any case, the bidding continued.
"Immortal Corpse Four. Opening bid: 270,000 Arcane Crystals and 800 Divine Crystals."
This time, the corpse had a bit more hair compared to others, and it also had longer nails and even fangs.
This Immortal seemed to have chosen a beastly path…
However, the corpse's jaw was shattered, and its left leg had been severed. But aside from that, the corpse was still filled with energy.
"Confirmed to be a Moonfang Alpha—a member of the Celestial Beast Warriors. No core found, but traces of Moonlight Divinity still remain in its bone marrow and spine."
Vale blinked.
Moonlight Divinity? That's a unique energy channel…
With his limited knowledge, he only knew that moonlight-based Divinity wasn't just beautiful. It could be repurposed for illusions, healing, or even bloodline augmentation. It was unlike Shadow Divinity, which focuses on stealthiness, curses, and movement.
Anyway, Vale immediately sent a bid as he decided to just enjoy the auction.
"370,000 Arcane Crystals and 950 Divine Crystals."
Another countered soon after.
"…1,000 Divine Crystals."
Vale no longer joined the bidding war and simply watched it happen.
"…1,200 Divine Crystals."
"…2,000 Divine Crystals."
…
"…4,250 Divine Crystals."
Soon, the auctioneer's voice echoed.
"Booth Thirteen raises to 4,250 Divine Crystals. Any further bids?"
Soon, Vale heard from conversations that Celestial Beast Warriors were previously creatures at the level of Dimensional Creatures… However, they were able to attain humanoid form and further practice their Divinity.
But then, another Immortal, one Vale was familiar with, joined the bid.
Their voice came from Sabrina.
"…5,500 Divine Crystals."
Vale could still fight over it if he wanted to.
However, Sabrina noticed his interest, and he received another message through telepathy.
"I only need the Immortal's Heart and eyes… If you want, you can have the rest for 20% … No, for 15% of its price." Sabrina said to him as she maintained their connection.
"How about 10%?" Vale offered.
"Deal…" Sabrina replied without hesitation. Vale almost regretted it as he could've probably said 5% or even for free.
Nonetheless, the transaction was done. He could only hope that he could extract something out of it.
Soon, the announcer announced.
"Going once… going twice… Sold!"
Seeing that Sabrina was quite happy with the result, Vale continued to speak before she could end their telepathic connection.
"Sabrina… I can pay you more, but I want information." He started.
"I won't reject free money. What's up?"
His eyes scanned the hall until they found the old Immortal, now calmly seated with his hands folded as if nothing had happened.
His aura was withdrawn, concealed expertly, but Vale wouldn't miss his appearance at all.
"I need a name. The old Immortal who tried to ruin my bid just now. The one who called the Corpse 'Chrono-touched.'"
There was a pause.
"Ah. I thought I saw that little clash… Give me a moment."
Sabrina replied while the announcer was introducing the third corpse to everybody…
After a short silence, Sabrina already had the information that Vale needed.
"His name is Arcanthus Velgroth. One of the remaining elders of the Lunar Ash Congregation."
Vale narrowed his eyes. "Never heard of it."
"You wouldn't. It's just a small organization now… However, that old guy is an Earth Immortal. It's not a big deal if you want to attack him due to a grudge. It happens a lot. But you have to make sure that you can win… If you join us, I can immediately loan you two Shadow Immortal Spell Models. It might help you advance." Sabrina offered...
Once again, advancing to Earth Immortal requires 4 Perfect Realm Spells. In his case, it must be four Shadow-Related Celestial Spells and fuse them into one Celestial Spell!
