Chapter 792: Confrontation (3)
Chapter 792: Chapter 35 Confrontation_3
"Continue with the mission!”
"Yes!” The lieutenant and the guards saluted together, satisfied, and left.
After they had all left, Pavlov said, “That’s another ace up our sleeve, right?”
Wang Zhong: “Yes, at least we won’t be in the situation we were at the start of the war where we could only exchange enemy tanks with incendiary bottles.”
Popov: “This time it’s the enemy’s turn to trade their tanks for ours hard, just like you said, it’s their turn to bleed and sacrifice, to cleanse our tracks with their blood.”
In the first year of his journey, Wang Zhong stole Patton’s speech which was extraordinarily effective, and it’s said that to this day many priests still repeat it when mobilizing troops.
...
"We can’t just defend passively! That only results in the tracks of the Anteans being cleansed with the blood of our soldiers!” The Plathen Emperor slammed his fist onto the map, “No, we cannot just defend passively! You have all seen the outcome; we brought four Armored Divisions from the Western Front, yet we couldn’t stop the Anteans’ advance! To defend is to hand over the initiative to the enemy!”Marshal Rundstedt: “But attacking in the face of insufficient forces could be even worse than defending.”
"No! Rocossov also thinks this way! I’ve got a grip on his thoughts now! I had predicted that he would attack in September! And all of my senior officers thought he would only act after the Dibo River froze! I know him better than you all!”
The Emperor said while flinging his pencil onto the map.
He threw it with such force that the pencil bounced high.
"I want to attack! We have just gathered four companies of Leopard Tanks, a total of four hundred! Plus four companies of Tiger King Tanks, a total of two hundred! With these troops, Rocossov will be caught off guard! He definitely won’t have time to repair his damaged new tanks!”
(The Emperor was indeed right about this)
Celtic Marshal Kyle: “Even if the Armored Troops achieve a breakthrough, our army lacks sufficient infantry to follow up; our forces will only be fully replenished by the end of this year.”
The Emperor: “We can use the newly formed infantry units to follow up!”
Celtic Marshal Kyle: “Your Majesty, most of the newly formed units are inexperienced in combat and are unsuitable for offensive operations!”
The Emperor was about to counterargue when Giles suddenly interjected: “A hasty offensive now, even if successful, will not have the logistical supplies ready for continued advance.
"The current situation on the Southern Front is better suited to defensive counterattacks; such a short front is not conducive for Rocossov to launch a large-scale deep offensive. It’s better to wait until their troops are exhausted on our fortified zones before we strike.”
The Emperor looked towards Giles.
The red-haired youth bluntly stated: “I think we should defend and counterattack.”
The Emperor: “But the initiative
"The transfer of initiative requires the right opportunity, Your Majesty,” Giles said.
The Plathen Emperor took a deep breath: “Alright, you’re right.”
At the same time, Eagle’s Nest secondary freight elevator.
As the bell rang, the interior gate of the elevator opened.
The soldier responsible for pulling the outer gate was surprised to see the Colonel inside: “You… This is the freight elevator!”
"I am on a secret mission; no inquiries allowed, and do not report to anyone!” The Colonel said as he pulled out his officer’s ID.
The soldier immediately stood at attention: “Yes, Sir!”
The Colonel: “Open the outer gate!”
The soldier promptly unlocked and opened the gate.
The Colonel stepped out of the elevator, carefully making sure not to let his briefcase touch the doors.
"Is His Majesty still in a meeting?” he inquired.
The soldier: “Yes, Sir!”
"Very good, remember, you didn’t see me.”
"Yes sir, I did not see you!”
The unfamiliar Colonel thus walked away swiftly with his briefcase.
