Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies

"What do you mean by dagger and chainsaw? Why would she greet me with that?" the woman asked with a frown on her face. She couldn't understand Fox's words.

"Aiyah, don't you remember? She is Crazy Bai. That infamous woman who is known for killing anyone at the smallest provocation. Compared to those people whom she has attacked and killed, I think she treated you quite well, my little ancestor," said Fox as he walked inside the mansion, leaving the woman behind with a stumped expression.

"What—what is she that Crazy Bai? And you want to leave me here?" The woman shrieked, but Fox was no longer listening. He was already heading down the path which the maid was taking him.

Seeing the man walking away, the woman didn't want to follow him, but when she thought about how this place was better than staying in the penthouse and there was also Doctor Shen, she had no other choice but to grit her teeth and follow Fox. She couldn't let anything happen to this child. He was the only one who could secure her position.

However, as she hurried inside the mansion, she ran into a familiar face.

"Grandfather-in-law!"

Bai Meiyue paused, and so did Old Master Bai. The two of them raised their heads and turned to look at the woman who had called Old Master Bai: Grandfather-in-law.

Old Master Bai frowned as he looked at the woman in front of him. "Ah Wan, what are you doing here? Where is your husband?" Old Master Bai asked. He didn't like Fu Wan, as the woman wasn't the fiancée that he had arranged for his eldest grandson, but somehow, this woman was the one who ended up climbing into the bed of his eldest grandson.

She even betrayed her sister for the sake of securing her position as the eldest madam of the Bai family.

"Grandfather, wuuu. This woman is bullying me; she is clearly taking the crystal nuclei from Fox, and yet she is treating me like I am some kind of burden. You need to scold her." Fu Wan was spoiled rotten by her mother and had long developed the temperament of a spoiled brat. When she saw Old Master Bai, she thought that Bai Meiyue was keeping him here to flatter the Bai family. So, she immediately filed a complaint in front of Old Master Bai.

"Like I said, I do not care what or who you are. If you want to stay in my mansion, then you need to work; if not, then you can get lost." Bai Meiyue was getting annoyed with how the woman kept yelling at her and throwing her weight around. So what if she was the wife of the eldest young master of the Bai family?

Fu Wan turned embarrassed when she heard Bai Meiyue's words. It seemed like the woman really didn't care about her status, and it made her feel a bit shaken up, as she had been used to people flattering her due to her status.

Bai Meiyue sneered. She knew what the woman was thinking about and turned around on her feet before heading inside the mansion.

"Yueyue! Where did you go?"

Bai Meiyue raised her head and looked at the man who was running towards her. She waited for Lei Qian to come to a stop in front of her and asked, "I think I should be the one asking this question. Where were you? Why didn't I see you earlier?"

Lei Qian rubbed the back of his head and said with a smile, "Isn't it because you wanted us to keep an eye on the safe base? I went with Wan Guofu and Lu Yu to see what was going on in the safe base. You know that Lu Yin is still at the safe base—Lu Yu is quite worried about her." Even though the woman had done many things to break Lu Yu's heart, in the end, she was his only sister and family left in this world. He couldn't just abandon her without turning to look behind.

Bai Meiyue frowned, but she still nodded and said to Lei Qian, "So you all went to see Lu Yin? Is she alright?" She asked, wanting to know how that girl was doing.

Upon hearing her question, Lei Qian's expression turned solemn, and this made Bai Meiyue curious. What else did Lu Yin do for her to make Lei Qian make such an expression? She asked, "What happened?"

"Lu Yin got together with Chief Lin."

Now this was quite a surprise, as she knew that Chief Lin was older than Lu Yin by many years. In fact, by seniority, that woman should be calling that man 'uncle'.

"You are joking." She thought Lu Yin had way too much ambition how did she end up getting involved with someone like Chief Lin, that old fart?
