Apocalypse: Transmigrated General’s Daughter Uses Space to Survive

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Back at Home

After getting home, Chu Miao found her grandfather waiting at the door to welcome her. His butler and friend of over forty years stood next to him.

The butler had been his subordinate and friend when he was in the military and after retirement as a general he followed him and became his most trusted butler.

In the inherited memories, Chu Miao knows that the butler had always treated her and her brother like his own grandchildren, especially since he doesn't have a family of his own.

As soon as she got out of the car, her grandfather walking faster towards her and almost tripped. She rushed to support him and held his arm.

"Grandpa, slow down. What will we do if you fell?"

"I can't help it Bunny, how are you feeling? do you feel any pain? Do you need grandpa to do anything for you?" He bombarded her with questions, but she knew he was only worried about her. So, she just smiled and replied to his questions.

"Am feeling good grandpa. I have recovered so I am not in any pain, and apart from accompanying grandpa, you don't need to do anything for me."

After her reply, she turned to the butler and greeted him too. "Hello second grandpa." Because the butler had always been treated as a member of the family nobody addresses him as a butler. Her father and mother calls him uncle.

"Hello Bunny, it's good that you are home. I had your favorite food prepared. Go up and freshen up then lunch will be ready."

"Alright, I'll go back to my room first. " After saying that, Chu Miao handed her grandfather to her brother and made a beeline upstairs to her room. She followed the previous owners memories to find her room and upon opening the door, even though from the memories she already knew how everything was, she was still shocked by the extravagance.

It was literally a princess room with a big round bed in the center, the vanity must have cost a fortune, when she opened the closet, it was like a designer shop.

The general's residence in ancient times had been considered wealthy but it nothing compared to this. She was glad she did not transmigrate to a destitute family. It would have made preparing for the apocalypse a huge challenge.

She went to the bathroom, took a long, warm bath and dressed in comfortable clothes. She stood in front of the mirror in the bathroom and looked at her reflection. Seeing the face looking back at her, she was so shocked she almost jumped.

The face in the mirror was completely identical to her own in her previous life. Even the shape of her body was the same. If she didn't know better, she would have thought that she had come to the modern era with her own body and not possessed a new one.

But then remembering the prophecy, she concluded that this body had something to do with her. She would investigate when she had time.

She had come to this conclusion because apart from looking the same, she realized that her soul had completely fused with this body. If it was the usual possession, it would have taken some time and heaven and earthly treasures to complete the fusion. But right now, it is as if the soul was born in this body from the beginning.

She didn't dwell long in this as she walked out of the bathroom to find her mother waiting for her on the bed.

"Mom, did I keep you guys waiting for long?"

"No sweetheart, I came to bring you your phone. The old one was crushed when you had an accident. Your brother bought you a new one. It's already charged and ready for use. "

"Thanks mom, my brother is the best." She reached out to take the phone and turned it own. To her surprise, all the apps she normally uses had already been downloaded. She must say, her family really pampered her to the extreme.

"You can check your phone and come down soon. Lunch will be served in half an hour. Your father and brother will go to the office after eating." Her mother knew that since she hadn't used her phone in a long time, she would be eager to talk to her friends and decided to give her some space.

"Okay mom, I'll be down in a moment."

Contrary to her mother's belief, Chu Miao was not eager to talk to her friends, but to find some proof of the oncoming apocalypse. She didn't want to delay too long as she knew that some things cannot be acquired in a short time. So, she needed to convince her family soon to ensure everything can be purchased early on.

Browsing through Weibo and Baidu, Chu Miao actually found a lot of traces regarding the oncoming apocalypse, it's just that they were sporadic and if one wasn't specifically searching, it would be difficult to connect all the incidents together and associate them with the end of the world.

She collected all the articles she came across, especially the ones about animals becoming bigger than normal and aggressive for no reason, unreasonable weather changes, and a persistent flu that cannot be cured no matter what medication was used.

After everything was saved in her phone, she proceeded to check her messages and ignored most of them. The previous Chu Miao might not have been able to tell, but based on her memories, she could tell who treated her as a friend and who acted like a sucker for her family's wealth and status. Other girls just wanted to use her to get close to her brother and pretended to be friends with her.

Except for one girl, Feng Tu, her dormitory roommate in college, there was no one else she would consider a friend. And she and Feng Tu had not known each other for long. So, even if the apocalypse was coming, she will only send her a subtle warning hoping she will stockpile supplies and survive with her family.
