Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Family Spiritual Elements
"I have dual attributes, light, and space. I can manipulate space, which means I can teleport once I become stronger. Light can purify evil and heal both the body and soul."
"That's incredible, you can actually teleport from one place to another. Can you move between cities?" Chu Hao was so excited it was as if he was the one with the space attribute.
"You think it's that easy? In the early stages, I can only teleport a few meters. Until I reach Qi level three then I can teleport about fifty meters. At Qi level four I can teleport two hundred meters. Qi level five I can teleport about a mile away. When I reach Qi level nine I can teleport at least to the other side of the city." Chu Miao took a deep breath before continuing to explain.
"But this distance is dependent on how much spiritual power I have left in my dantian and if I am alone. If I teleport more people, I can maybe manage half that distance. Once I break through to the foundation establishment, then I can teleport to the other city because I can hold more spiritual power in my dantian."
"That is still a big advantage. Even teleporting a meter away can determine life and death during battle. But, do your attributes have any offensive power?" Her grandfather became worried again. If she could only fight evil, heal, and escape, how would she fight?
"You trained me, grandpa. When people found out that I had awakened light and space attributes, they also gossiped about how the daughter of a general couldn't even go to the battlefield. But after training, I can use my space ability very well. What do you think happens if I twist the space where someone is standing?"
"Oh, that is incredible. A person will become minced meat."
"Indeed, I can also create domains using space, and every domain I create follows my rules. So, if I create a domain with enemies inside and immobilize them, I can kill them like they are wooden dolls."
"Your element is really cool." Chu Hao said with a sour tone.
"What is your element brother?"
"I saw red dots."
"That's the fire element. You can burn anything since yours isn't ordinary fire but spiritual fire that can't the extinguished with water. What about you daddy?"
"I saw things that looked like snowflakes."
"Woah!! That is a mutated ice element. It is strong in both attack and defense. You can create ice arrows, cages, and walls for defense or simply turn someone into an ice sculpture and break it. And second grandpa?"
"I saw brown dots."
"That should be the earth element. Very strong in defense, but can also attack. You could create earth spikes, swamps, or quicksands and walls."
"Our family has a lot of useful attributes: attack, defense, healing, and escaping. Perfect."
"Alright everyone, let's go outside before others wake up and wonder what we were all doing in the study." Grandpa Chu said before Chu Miao took everyone out.
"Go freshen up and come down for breakfast, we have a long day ahead." He said again before everyone dispersed.
…
On a villa halfway up the mountain in the suburbs, a man woke up with a stat. His chest was heaving up and down and his hands were fisted. His hair was sweaty and disheveled, but it couldn't hide how good-looking he was.
His looks could put gods to shame.
His skin tone was of wheat color; hair as black as the night about two inches long.
At this moment it was almost covering his sharp eyebrows, adding a rugged charm.
He had phoenix eyes, thin lips, and a chiseled jawline.
His shirtless chest exposed sculpted muscles and a few scars.
He sat up in bed with a grim look on his face.
Ye Xuan couldn't understand what was wrong with him. Having the same dream for three days straight.
What was more confusing is that he didn't even know the woman who kept appearing in his dreams.
At first, he had dismissed it as stress and overwork. His grandfather and only relative had passed away two months ago.
He thought it was grief playing tricks at him, but now he had to reconsider that thought.
This time, the face of the woman in the dream was no longer blurry; it was so vivid that he felt he could touch her. He didn't understand why a stranger would appear in his dream.
Ye Xuan wasn't a superstitious person, but his time as a special forces soldier had taught him that nothing in this world was a coincidence.
If something happened more than once, then it meant something. He just didn't know what this dream or the woman meant.
For now, he had to get ready. He had a company to run. Ye Xuan thought as he headed to the bathroom.
He had taken over the Ye Corporation two years ago after his discharge from the army and had managed to almost double its assets.
His grandfather had praised him for his business acumen.
As for the dream and what it represented, he would investigate if it happens again.
…
In the Chu villa, the family sat down for breakfast, and while they ate, they talked about everyone's tasks for the day.
"I think Grandpa has already done his part. He should rest, and we will do everything else. Dad and I still need to show up at the company so that we don't arouse suspicion, but since money will become waste paper soon, we have started to withdraw most of the liquid funds discreetly." Chu Hao started a conversation.
"That's true; at least with the liquid assets, we can buy as many supplies as possible, especially the non-renewable resources. Things that will stop production after the collapse of industrial production, such as clothes and shoes, and don't forget about building materials. We might need to do some construction in the future and having building materials is important." Grandpa Chu added as he picked a piece of bacon and put it in Chu Miao's bowl.
