Apocalypse Cheater

Chapter 265: Plans and Gifts

[: 3rd POV :]

"So, what's going to happen now?" Cecilia asked, her brow furrowed with curiosity as she leaned forward.

Daniel met her gaze and sighed, a slight frown crossing his face.

"For that, I'm not too confident about what's going to happen from now on."

His tone was thoughtful, revealing the weight of his uncertainty.

With each word, he could sense their anticipation, aware of the implications that lay ahead.

"Given everything that's happened, I'm not sure what to expect," he declared, a hint of contemplation in his voice.

Cecilia frowned slightly, her interest piqued, while Leila leaned in, intrigued. "And why is that?"

"All I know is that the current situation is more concerning than the Apocalypse," Daniel said, his expression serious but not overly worried.

Leila raised an eyebrow, curiosity evident. "What do you mean?"

Daniel took a deep breath, carefully choosing his words.

"With the privilege of visiting other realms, those realms could also enter this world," he explained, his tone calm but direct.

Cecilia nodded, her understanding growing.

"Even though some of them may be harmless, others are not."

"Exactly," Daniel affirmed.

"They are free to do whatever they want without being constrained by consequences."

He appreciated the calmness between them as they discussed the possibilities before them.

It was important to acknowledge the concerns but also to approach them with a sense of preparedness.

"If that is so, then what's the use of Survival Mode?" Leila questioned, her tone a mix of curiosity and concern.

"Those don't matter, because in the end, those in power could rule over the weak, and it has been that way since the very beginning,"

Daniel replied with a hint of bitterness in his voice.

The words hung in the air, and Leila and Cecilia shared a glance, both of them realizing that the world they lived in was far darker than they had previously understood.

In the silence that followed, the weight of Daniel's insight loomed large, casting a shadow over their conversation.

"You must have a plan, right? To keep those unwanted visitors at bay?"

Leila's voice was steadier now, hope threading through her question.

Daniel straightened, a flicker of resolve in his eyes.

"I do have a plan, and it's quite simple: kill them if they choose to disturb our peace."

His response was matter-of-fact, almost casual, yet the gravity of his words felt heavy in the room.

Cecilia nodded, a small sigh escaping her as she smiled wryly. "I kind of expected your answer to be that way."

"But if I have to mention it, the benefits of visiting other realms can't be overlooked,"

Daniel added, his tone shifting slightly as he became more animated.

"Why though?" Leila asked, genuinely intrigued by the prospect.

"It's about their methods of acquiring power,"

Daniel explained, his eyes lighting up with enthusiasm.

"For example, in a cultivation world, they harness an energy called Spiritual Energy. Once they gather enough of it, they can shatter their limits and achieve a state known as 'Immortal.' It's akin to becoming a god, where their capabilities are exponentially enhanced."

Cecilia's eyes widened at the concept, the idea of such power stirring excitement within her.

Daniel continued, eager to share more.

"In another realm, there's a concept called 'Trait' or 'Talent,' where individuals can leverage specific advantages based on their inherent gifts"

"Depending on their Trait's rank, they can become extraordinarily powerful without the usual grind of leveling up."

Leila processed this information, her expression thoughtful.

"And don't tell me there are those who gain power through belief?"

"Ah, in certain worlds, individuals can acquire strength by becoming dedicated believers or followers of a particular deity or principle," Daniel explained.

"The more devotion they show, the more powerful they become. It's a fascinating idea yet dangerous since cult exists" Daniel explained.

"Ah, I see" Leila place her finger under her chin and gave a thought.

With every example Daniel provided, Leila and Cecilia felt the possibilities unfold before them—an expanding horizon of potential.

It was a world rich with nuances, each realm specializing in its unique methods of harnessing energy, talent, or faith.

"There are just so many methods of acquiring power that I can't even begin to count how many exist,"

Daniel explained, gesturing with his hands as he tried to convey the vastness of the concept.

His brow furrowed in concentration, clearly overwhelmed by the potential implications.

"The possibilities are endless, and we have no idea what kind of intentions each of these realms has,"

He continued, his voice taking on a more serious tone, a note of urgency creeping in.

"Hence, it's safe to assume that the so-called visitors may not be visitors at all,"

Daniel added, his eyes narrowing as he considered the notion.

The idea left a heavy weight in the air, a reminder that their world was teetering on the brink of unknown dangers.

"After all, whenever there are opportunities or treasures, humans won't remain silent,"

He pointed out, his expression growing more intense.

"Greed often drives people to act against their better judgment. It's where humans could finally show their true colour."

Leila listened attentively, her mind racing as she processed the implications of his words.

"It's kind of a headache if we have to consider just how many realms there are and what kind of intentions they have," she replied, her voice laced with frustration.

A soft sigh escaped her lips as she could already foresee the troubles and complications that would arise when these visitors ultimately made their presence known.

"If we're facing trouble before these visitors even arrive, I wonder what's in store for the Second Main Quest?"

Leila questioned, her curiosity piqued and a hint of apprehension lacing her words.

Daniel fell silent, the tension in the room palpable as he gathered his thoughts.

The weight of uncertainty pressed down on him, leaving him pensive and contemplative.

"To explain in a simpler way," he finally said, breaking the silence, "if Earth has to evolve once more, the Apocalypse difficulty will rise again."

His tone was calm yet foreboding, as if he were trying to prepare them for the severity of what lay ahead.

Both Leila and Cecilia could only shake their heads in silent acknowledgment, the reality of Daniel's words settling in like a shadow.

They knew that the stakes were high, and the challenges they faced were becoming increasingly complex.

"Enough of that. I'm here to actually give you guys a boost of power,"

Daniel announced, a determined glint in his eyes.

It was time to change the topic, and he knew that lifting their spirits and enhancing their abilities would be the perfect way to do so.

Leila and Cecilia exchanged smiles upon hearing Daniel's words, a warmth spreading through their hearts.

They were accustomed to his generous nature, and the anticipation of receiving his gifts always filled them with excitement.

In the past, the magnitude of what he offered had shocked them, now, they felt a comforting familiarity with it.

Each of his gifts had proven to be a game changer, elevating their strength beyond what they ever thought was possible.

Whenever rewards from the system rolled in, they couldn't help but feel that Daniel's gifts were incomparable.

His items weren't just enhancements; they were transformative.

The sheer number of gifts they received was overwhelming, often not one or two, but hundreds.

Despite their already extraordinary prowess, they understood that the challenges awaiting them required them to be even more formidable.

They needed to outclass their enemies by leagues, perhaps even becoming as extraordinary as Daniel himself.

Because of this need, they no longer shied away from his offers.

Instead, they eagerly anticipated what he would present this time, their hearts racing at the thought of the possibilities.

As Daniel gazed through his inventory, however, a hint of stress creased his brow.

He faced a different challenge.

He had too many items to choose from. It wasn't about a lack of options; rather, it was the overwhelming abundance of choices that left him momentarily paralyzed.

After five minutes of careful selection, each moment filled with deliberation, he finally settled on a trove of items.

With a resigned yet hopeful expression, he handed Leila and Cecilia the same amount of gifts, equally distributed between them.

"Son… are you really giving us this many gifts?" Leila exclaimed, her mouth hanging open in amazement.

The sheer volume of items was nearly unimaginable.

"Isn't this too much…?" Even Cecilia, who had grown somewhat immune to Daniel's grand gestures, couldn't help but express her astonishment.

They were aware of the magnitude of the items he provided, thanks to the understanding from the system.

Even though they might not fully comprehend what some of the items were, they could tell that these were no ordinary gifts; they were treasures.

"Yeah, I still have loads of them, so it'll be better if both of you use them for yourselves,"

Daniel replied casually, as though such items were easily obtained and commonplace to him, though both women knew otherwise.

What he had gifted them was immense, ten Divine Crystals from each element, 200 Universal Tickets, 200 Skill Upgrade Runes, 20 Class Upgrade Runes, one Dragon Fruit, one Jewel Engraver, one Planet Core, ten Deity's Hearts, one Supreme Bone, one Divine Physique, one Ethereal Crystallized Drops, one Domain Heart, one Book of Wisdom, one Forbidden Skill, one Immortal Fruit, one Taboo Potential Pill, one Unifying Pill, one Mystifying Energy Pill, and one Archmage Mana Heart.

In a further show of generosity, he had also given Leila a staggering 100 Quadrillion Mythic Materials and 100 Quadrillion Rainbow Prisms for her organization, along with an additional two trillion Rainbow Prisms for both her and Cecilia to share.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Leila felt tears prick at the corners of her eyes, emotion swelling within her chest.

"I… I don't know what to say," she stammered, trying to process the enormity of his gesture.

Cecilia shared a similar sentiment, her heart racing with a blend of disbelief and excitement.

"This… this is incredible, Daniel. Thank you!" Her voice was filled with a mix of awe and appreciation.

Daniel smiled at their reactions, feeling a sense of fulfillment in his heart.

He wanted nothing more than to see them thrive and succeed, and he believed that these gifts would help them.
