Chapter 36: Chapter 36: The Charge of The Baima Calvary!

After the Navy's vanguard forces had been cleaned up, I met up with Celeste to try to get a better idea of the current situation.

"Captain Leo! I'm so glad to see you here! I missed you so much!" Celeste said as she ran up and threw her arms around me. I returned her embrace while picking her up and let out a hearty laugh before putting her back down.

"No need to get so emotional again, Cel. Anyway what's the situation here! And where is everyone else? If Yuma and Jack were here you guys wouldn't have had any trouble with those guys." I said.

"Well actually, the Navy sent another detachment and those two went out to deal with them. Unfortunately, it seems like it was just a trick to leave the island undefended. I'm sorry I should have known." Celeste said as she apologized.

"It's no big deal, it all worked out in the end anyway. The big problem now is the rest of the Navy's force that's on its way." I said.

"It's no problem at all. It doesn't matter how many they send, we'll just cut them all down." Charlemagne said. "These small fry are no match for us." He said, though I'm not sure if I would call Vice Admirals small fry.

"You're right Char, we could probably could take them out ourselves, but that's not enough. We need to show the Navy they can't attack our territory easily. We need to show that our men can protect this place even when we're not here" I replied.

"But they can't most of them are just farmers and average civilians. We don't have any actual soldiers." Celeste replied.

"That's not entirely true. Either way it's fine as long as we use the proper tactics." I said. I had gained a skill from the system that gave me the ability to utilize advanced military strategy when leading soldiers, I thought I'd never use it but it's finally proving useful. "Baima Island is known for their skill in breeding horses right?"

"Yes, what about out it?" Celeste asked me.

"Tell the men to mount up. We'll use their riding skills and knowledge of the terrain to our advantage." I answered.

As the battle unfolded the numerically superior Navy forces overwhelmed our militia troops and scattered. Doing so went exactly to our plan. As they chased our men, they were ambushed by our men on horseback. Using these hit and run tactics, they eventually routed the Navy troops.

As the forces on the ground were victorious, Charlemagne went to work crushing the battleships at sea. This left only the ten Vice Admirals left for me to deal with.

"Bankai! Kokujo Tengen Muyo! Bankai! Hihio Zabimaru!!!!" I used both my Bankai to take out all of my opponents. At this point, even Vice Admirals weren't much of a challenge for me. We captured the Navy officers and I gave them the opportunity to join us. It's the same opportunity I gave to the Marines we defeated on Baima Island almost two years ago.

"You must feel pretty confident after defeating our assault. But how will you deal with the next one?" A Vice Admiral said as an entire new fleet arrived on the horizon.

"Man you guys don't give up easily do you?" I said.

"Leo I don't think the men can withstand another fight. It took everything they had to get through the first time." Celeste told me.

"Yeah I guess I'll have to deal with it." I said, but as me and Charlemagne went in to engage the fleet, the ships suddenly started to get taken out one by one. "Looks like those guys showed up right on time."

Jack and Yuma had arrived as well, and Jack had started sinking ships with his rifle before he was even visible on the horizon. Yuma then came in and cut a few ships in half with Demon Slayer.

"Seems like they got stronger. That's good." I said.

Suddenly another figure emerged and started sinking ships left and right, it turned out to be Sig who now had a new set of heavy armor and had twin blades and was carving his way through the Navy fleet.

The result of the battle was an overwhelming victory for us. We protected our territory while gaining many new allies from the defeated marines. It was great to see all my friends again after so long and it was especially good to see how strong they had gotten.

"They shouldn't come back here anytime soon." Celeste said.

"Are you sure? I mean won't they just keep sending more soldiers until they crush us?" Sig asked.

"No they've got their hands full enough dealing with the Pirates in the new world. If they think it'll cost too many casualties, they probably won't bother attacking again until they have more men to spare." I replied.

As I was enjoying my reunion with my friends, I noticed that someone was missing.
