Chapter 33
The afternoon sun shone through the gaps in the curtains into the teacher's office, like a layer of golden gauze, gently falling on Gojo Satoru's angular and handsome face.
He held two exquisite lunch boxes in his hands, walked briskly and confidently, like a winner who had returned with a full load, and pushed open the door of the office.
At this moment, Hiratsuka Shizuka was concentrating on correcting students' homework.
Hearing the noise coming from the door, she raised her head, and when her eyes met Gojo Satoru, a hint of surprise appeared on her face.
" You actually came."
Hiratsuka Shizuka said softly, with a hint of disbelief in her tone.
Gojo Satoru smiled and placed the lunch box on the table in front of her, then said with a relaxed smile:
"What? Do you think I will break my promise? I always keep my word!"
Hiratsuka Shizuka glanced at him out of the corner of her eye, with the corner of her mouth slightly raised, as if she was not completely satisfied with his answer, but she still responded politely:
"Thank you in advance. However, I hope that the lunch you brought is really as delicious as you said, and I hope you won't be disappointed."
Gojo Satoru sat across from her and opened his lunch box.
Inside, carefully prepared sushi, golden tempura, and several exquisite side dishes were neatly arranged, emitting an alluring aroma that made one salivate.
He proudly showed these delicacies to Hiratsuka Shizuka, his eyes full of anticipation and pride, as if waiting for her praise.
"You try it. I won't be responsible if it doesn't taste good."
Shizuka Hiratsuka picked up the chopsticks, picked up a piece of sushi and put it in her mouth. She savored it carefully and nodded.
"Not bad, it seems you have some skills."
Gojo Satoru smiled even more brightly.
"Of course, I am Gojo Satoru, there is nothing I can’t do."
Hiratsuka Shizuka rolled her eyes at him and said:
"Tsk, narcissism."
She put down her chopsticks, looked up at Gojo Satoru, and a complex emotion flashed in her eyes.
"By the way, what are you going to do about what happened this morning?"
Gojo Satoru shrugged nonchalantly.
"What happened in the morning? Of course I agreed to everything."
Hearing this, Hiratsuka Shizuka frowned slightly, with a hint of reproach in her tone.
"You are really wicked. Is this fair to them?"
Gojo Satoru smiled and acted innocent.
"Oh, Xiaojing, you know me well, how could I refuse them?"
Hiratsuka Shizuka shook her head helplessly, continued to eat a bite of her lunch box, and complained:
"Really, why do people like you? But I always fail in blind dates.……"
As she spoke, she poked the rice in the lunch box with her chopsticks, as if it was her enemy.
Gojo Satoru put down his chopsticks and looked at her seriously, with a faint smile on his lips:
"Those people are just blind and don't know what's good. Xiao Jing, you are so outstanding, how come you can't find the right person? It must be that they don't have good taste."
Hearing Gojo Satoru's words, Hiratsuka Shizuka's heart couldn't help but flash a little warm. But she still said stubbornly:
"You only know how to say nice things. I really don't know what else you can say."
She raised her head and met Gojo Satoru's gaze. Their eyes met, and it seemed that an invisible emotion was flowing in the air.
Gojo Satoru's smile was still bright, and he said softly:
"This is not a lie, but my true feelings. I have always liked you, Jing."
His voice was very soft, but it was sincere enough to be ignored.
Hiratsuka Shizuka was stunned for a moment, and a slight blush appeared on her face, as if she was frightened by Gojo Satoru's words. She stuttered and said:
"You... don't make such a joke……"
However, Gojo Satoru was not joking. He looked at Hiratsuka Shizuka quietly, with a hint of seriousness and determination in his eyes.
He knew that his feelings for Hiratsuka Shizuka were not a momentary impulse, but a true feeling that had stood the test of time.
Although he was always cynical, he was extremely serious when it came to this feeling.
Hiratsuka Shizuka felt Gojo Satoru's gaze, and her heartbeat involuntarily quickened.
She tried to keep herself calm, not wanting to reveal too many flaws in front of him.
She took a deep breath, then snorted coldly, trying to hide her inner panic.
""Okay, stop talking nonsense and eat quickly."
Shizuka Hiratsuka lowered her head, picked up her chopsticks again, and began to concentrate on eating.
Although her movements seemed natural, only she knew that her heart was in a mess at the moment.
Gojo Satoru didn't say anything more. He silently finished the rest of his lunch box, then stood up and prepared to leave.
Before leaving, he glanced at Shizuka Hiratsuka again, with a hint of tenderness in his eyes.
"Xiaojing, what I said is true."
After saying that, Gojo Satoru stared at Hiratsuka Shizuka's eyes seriously, letting her feel his feelings from his eyes.
Hiratsuka Shizuka felt a little uncomfortable being stared at by him like this.
Just when she was about to say something, she was suddenly pulled over by Gojo Satoru.
Before she could react to what was happening, she felt a black screen in front of her eyes, and then her lips were tightly pressed by the other party.
Hiratsuka Shizuka widened her eyes, her heartbeat became extremely rapid, and her mind became blank.
She subconsciously wanted to push him away, but Gojo Satoru's arms hugged her tightly like an iron clamp, making her unable to move at all.
After just a few seconds, Gojo Satoru finally let her go slowly, but his face still had that extremely confident smile.
"Xiao Jing, I am serious."
Hiratsuka Shizuka stared at him blankly. Her cheeks were already flushed. It took her a long time to find her voice again.
"You...what are you doing?"
Gojo Satoru smiled slightly, as if he had expected her reaction.
" I just want you to understand that my feelings for you are definitely not a joke."
Hiratsuka Shizuka took a deep breath, trying to calm her restless heart and try to calm herself down.
" Do you really know what you just said? Remember, we are teacher and student!"
Gojo Satoru shrugged.
"So what? I never care about these things. You know, no one can stop me from doing what I want to do."
Hiratsuka Shizuka was silent for a moment, lowered her head and dared not look him in the eye.
"I... I don't know how to answer you."
Gojo Satoru gently lifted her chin and let her look at him.
"It's okay, Xiao Jing. I won't force you to make any decision. You just need to know that I will always be by your side, waiting for you."
Hiratsuka Shizuka's mood was very complicated. She had never thought that Gojo Satoru would have such feelings for her. For a moment, she didn't know how to respond.
She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down.
"Gojo, I need some time to think about it."
Gojo Satoru nodded and smiled gently:
"Of course, I will give you time. But no matter what decision you make, I will not leave you."
Gojo Satoru saw that Hiratsuka Shizuka's expression was serious, so he stopped teasing her.
He quietly finished his lunch, cleared the tableware on the table, stood up, and said to Hiratsuka Shizuka:
"Okay, Xiao Jing, I'll go back to the classroom first! If you need time to think, then take your time, don't rush~ No matter what, I will always be here patiently waiting for your answer."
Hiratsuka Shizuka raised her head and looked at him with complicated eyes, with all kinds of emotions intertwined in her heart. She nodded gently and responded in a slightly low voice:
"Well, OK, then you can go back first. I will seriously consider this matter.……"
Gojo Satoru raised his lips slightly, revealing a faint smile, and then turned around and slowly left the office.
When the door closed gently, the whole room seemed to become unusually quiet. Hiratsuka Shizuka silently stared at his departing back, and her heart was suddenly filled with mixed feelings.
She had never expected that Gojo Satoru would have such special feelings for her, and she had never expected that he would express his feelings so frankly.
Hiratsuka Shizuka sighed deeply and tried to calm herself down.
She picked up the red pen for marking homework again, trying to concentrate on her work, but her thoughts were like a kite with a broken string, and she couldn't gather them back.
Gojo Satoru's words were like lingering echoes, constantly echoing in her mind:"No matter what decision you make, I will never leave you."
She shook her head gently, trying to throw these chaotic thoughts out of her mind, and then refocused her mind and continued to bury her head in marking homework.
However, whenever she flipped through the students' homework books, the guy's confident smile and what had just happened would involuntarily appear before her eyes.
She really couldn't deny that deep in her heart, she had already developed an indescribable feeling for him, but she always lacked the courage to face this feeling.
Time slipped away quietly, the sun set, and the afterglow sprinkled into the office through the gaps in the curtains, covering everything with a faint golden light.
Shizuka Hiratsuka finally finished marking the last homework. She slowly put down the red pen in her hand, rubbed her neck which was slightly sore from working for a long time, and let out a long sigh.
Then, she stood up from her seat, moved to the window, stared at the gradually darkening sky outside the window, and thought quietly.
She knew very well that she had to make a choice, even if the choice was extremely difficult.
