chapter 4 class troubles... and the first mission.
"so you're asking if i have any backing?" Adam spoke, sipping from his tea looking at Evan, the imperial prince.
"yeah, since everyone thinks of you as a rude hot tempered jerk, people have been wondering if you have a strong backing outside of your family... who disowned you." prince evan spoke.
Adam raised an eyebrow at the prince, and waved his hand in the air dismissively while sipping at his tea "no, none of that, my family already disowned me, i don't have any backing."
the prince raised an eyebrow, "really? then why have you been so rude to everyone?" the prince asked.
"well i've just been a hot tempered guy my whole life, i don't appreciate being looked down on even if my family had disowned me." adam said calmy, "and something about that regina girl really irks me..." he said gritting his teeth remembering the fight he had with her.
"that girl also seems to not have any backing either... don't you find that strange?" evan asked curiously, he was curious what Adam thinks about regina.
"she makes me mad, but other than that nothing really, she's kind of a bitch that's all." he said calmly.
"haha! that's an intresting statement to make." the prince said chuckling slightly.
"well if that's all your heightness i will be taking my leave." adam said finishing his cup before getting up and walking away.
"a bit rude aren't you?" the prince looked turn to him with a soft smile that hid anger under it.
"here in this academy, no one can abuse their rank..." he trailed off turning to smirk at the prince, "and i plan on taking advantage of that." he said before leaving the princes dorm.
the prince almost broke his cup in anger, but he contained it enough to let it out in a long sigh.
"keep the face of a ruler." he kept repeating over and over calming himself down.
"this illusio child is very troublesome..."
in the classroom all the students sat silently, the atmosphere changed a lot, everyone witnessed the violent fight Regina and Adam had, everyone was affected except for Amanda, who was as cheerful as ever.
the teacher walked in and immediately noticed the atmosphere but he didn't bother, "everyone, i would like to speak to you about your first test of the year."
everyone looked at the teacher expectantly, and he answered, "your first mission will be a survival mission, in a tropical island, you will be given 5 days to survive, if any of you back out it will be considered an automatic failure, you students will be split up into 3 groups, each with 10 people."
"sir?" a student raised his hands.
"yes?"
"when is this test?" the student asked.
"tomorrow." the professor said calmly.
a commotion broke out in between the students as they started complaining, "but sir! we aren't given any time to prepare!" the student yelled.
"you wouldn't have any time to prepare in real life situations, you're lucky we gave you a day."
the students could do nothing but bite their tongues and comply.
the next day.
the groups were split up randomly, group 1 had Amanda, suzie, and 8 more students, group 2 had Regina, Adam, Evan, and arron and 6 more students.
group 3 had evelyn, and nine others.
the instructor stood over the three groups and spoke, "your objective in this survival test, is to survive for five days, the groups with the most progress will be the highest rankings and will earn points."
"combat is permitted, but lethal or dangerous attacks are not, the groups will be separated and spread over the island, let the test begin, and may the best of luck be with you." the instructor said before swiping his arm and all the groups of students disappeared.
all the groups were sent to different places on the beach side of the island.
group 2
Evan naturally took charge and ordered.
"your highness, what should we do?" a boy spoke up.
group 2 had the most nobles, nobles are never good with survival because they are sheltered, but it also had the most capable in survival, a commoner.
"Arron? would care to tell me if you have any insight on what we should do?" the prince turned to Arron who was looking around in excitement.
"o-oh... me?" Arron pointed to himself confused tilting his head.
"ugh, yes you! i hate commoners!" a girl spoke up, her name was rica grover she was a noble child from a duchy.
"hey now let's calm down, he's the one who is going to tell us what to do from now on, he has the most experience, right Arron?"
"o-oh! yeah, i do, we should first build shelter and gather drinking water, the few bottles we were given aren't enough, we should gather coconuts or purify the sea water."
"interesting, alright Arron go gather coconuts, rica, go inform the others of what needs to be done and you will be incharge of the food storage, we should also fish." Evan said.
Rica walked to the rest of the group, and she informed them of the princes orders.
the students got to moving, they worked together, fishing and setting up simple huts.
"sir. i caught this." the prince heard a voice from behind and he turned to see a girl with long black hair, she held a pigeon in her hand, an arrow going through it's neck.
"o-oh... you can take that to rica, she's in charge of the storage..." the prince spoke, a little taken aback by the girl's blunt tone, her name was maria valeriana, in the combat class she was one of the first ones who finished their duels.
the girl nodded slightly and turned around and walked over to rica, the brow haired girl a little taken aback at first just instructed her to put it in a specific spot they had built to store food.
things were going good...
the prince nodded seeing the progress they were making, eventually it was night time, and everyone was gathered around a bonfire, grilling fish on sticks.
some who were familiar with each other spoke and chatted amongst each other while the others remained quiet, despite the progress they made, their class was almost entirely consisted of nobles, they were sheltered children, they weren't used to this, so the atmosphere was pretty down.
suddenly, Rica ran over panting and sweating, "your highness!"
Evan, seeing rica's state was a little alarmed, he stood up and questiond her, "what? what is it?" he asked his voice serious.
everything has been going good so far, he knew something would happen.
"e-everything..." she panted, "all the food is gone your highness!" she revealed which alarmed all the students there.
