Chapter 3: Stock Trading
"Elder Sister," Qin Churuo said, biting her lip in a display of feigned distress.
Qin Sheng gave Qin Churuo a fleeting glance and replied coolly, "Dirty."
"Smack!"
Qin Hai slammed his chopsticks onto the table with a resounding crash. "Qin Sheng, do you have no manners?"
"I was never taught proper decorum by my parents, so naturally, I am lacking in that regard."
Qin Sheng had no intention of fostering good relations with the Qin family. In her previous life, she had deigned to be trampled upon for their respect, only to discover that their hearts were as cold as ice, and their eyes were solely fixed on profit. This time, she had returned with a clear intention to disrupt their artificial tranquility and unmask their true nature.
"You!" Qin Hai's face shifted between shades of anger and disbelief, his frustration palpable.
Qin Sheng, in an unexpectedly good mood, continued to eat with an air of nonchalance.
Seeing Qin Sheng's demeanor, Qin Hai abruptly rose from his seat, his appetite vanishing entirely, and ascended the stairs with visible agitation.
"Sheng'er, look at what you've done to your father," Lin Shiya said with a reproachful glance at Qin Sheng, her tone laced with disapproval.
Her gaze then softened as it fell upon Qin Churuo. "Churuo, your sister is unfamiliar with proper etiquette. Help her learn."
"Certainly, Mother," Qin Churuo responded with an exaggerated sweetness that barely masked her underlying resentment.
"Thank you for your effort," Lin Shiya said with a faint smile of satisfaction, nodding before following Qin Hai upstairs.
Although she had no genuine regard for Qin Sheng, being her daughter, she could not afford to show her disdain openly.
"Elder Sister, after you've finished eating, I'll take you shopping. Your clothes…" Qin Churuo's voice trailed off as she recalled Qin Sheng's appearance when she first saw her.
Dressed simply in a white T-shirt, a basic jacket, and faded jeans, Qin Sheng's slender, straight legs were evident. Despite the simplicity of her attire, her inherent grace and nobility could not be concealed.
Qin Churuo studied Qin Sheng intently: her hair cascading like a waterfall, her eyes sparkling with a depth that belied her years, and her face youthful but exceptionally delicate, hinting at a future beauty that could rival any.
Secretly biting her lip, Qin Churuo had previously looked down upon Qin Sheng as merely a rural girl, unworthy compared to her, a young lady of the Qin family, who had been educated in nobility from birth.
However, now she was alarmed. Qin Sheng's visage and seemingly innate grace made it abundantly clear that she was no ordinary country bumpkin. Even standing before her, Qin Churuo felt overshadowed by her presence and demeanor.
She could not allow Qin Sheng to usurp what she believed was rightfully hers!
Steeling herself, Qin Churuo said softly, "I'll help you dress up nicely."
Qin Sheng took a tissue, wiped her mouth with deliberate calm, and said with a faint, knowing smile, "Qin Churuo, now that Qin Hai and Lin Shiya are absent, you needn't pretend."
Caught off guard by the revelation, Qin Churuo, only seventeen, could not conceal her true feelings, and her facade of goodwill crumbled under the weight of her genuine emotions.
As Qin Sheng walked past Qin Churuo, she paused momentarily and said, "What does not belong to you will never be yours."
"Qin Sheng!"
Qin Churuo ground her teeth in frustration, "In their eyes, I am their only daughter. I am the true young lady of the Qin family, while you are nothing."
The young lady of the Qin family?
Qin Sheng let out a scornful laugh, her eyes glinting with resolve; she had never cared for such superficial titles.
In this life, she would forge her own path and create her own glory.
Qin Sheng proceeded to the second floor and selected the room at the far left with a sense of purpose.
After tidying up her belongings with meticulous care, she began to consider her next move.
Her most pressing need was capital.
To start her own company, she required a substantial amount of financial backing.
Securing millions in a short period was no simple task, but an idea soon occurred to her: stock trading.
The stock market could bring either instant ruin or rapid wealth, with fortunes multiplying severalfold. Qin Sheng was renowned among investors as a stock market oracle, having maintained an impeccable record of success in her trading history.
When the Qin family's financial chain had collapsed, she had used the remaining funds to multiply their assets tenfold in the stock market, ultimately saving the family from financial ruin.
Yet, this achievement had been usurped and claimed by Qin Churuo.
In the unpredictable world of stocks, there was no upper limit to daily gains.
