America: Starting with Daily Intelligence

Chapter 260: Settle and Deal

Three people had Zorro's gun pointed at their foreheads, and in an instant, panic set in. "Big brother, we didn't do anything. If it's a robbery, just take the money and please, please don't hurt us."

"Did the people from Lightning Oil Company send you?" Allen Zhang came over and interrogated.

"Sir, we've never met, have we? I don't know what you're talking about," the private detective said, trying to keep a stiff upper lip.

"So, all of you have tough mouths, huh?" Allen Zhang sneered, pulling out a satellite phone and a camera. "Why are you spying on me? Better confess to what you've done; I'm well aware of your intents. We are in the wild here, no one would know even if people died."

Seeing that things had now come out in the open and the other party was looking fierce, the three quickly caved in and confessed, "Indeed, someone came to us with a request to surveil you. We're not very clear on their specifics, just that there was a contact who instructed us to get in touch and send everything we filmed to them. We're from Mickey Private Detective Agency."

"What did you guys talk about on the phone? You dared to take the job without even knowing who your employer was?" Zorro questioned.

"The other side only told us to send the relevant photos and video intelligence to the contact and that they would transfer a sum of money into our account. We really don't know who they are because that's the rule within our industry; we just do the job for the money. They were very generous, offering us thirty thousand US dollars right off the bat," the private detective lamented, nearly in tears.

If they had known the surveillance target was this fierce, they would never have taken on this business deal.

"I'm only worth thirty thousand US dollars?" Allen Zhang was a bit annoyed; were those people skimming off the top?

But looking at the three, each more pathetic than the last, he didn't have the heart to kill them. After interrogating them a bit more about the related content, he knocked them out with a blow each.

"How are they going to be dealt with?" Zorro asked.

"Send them off to the work camp up in the mountains for a bit of re-education. No need to get people killed over these three losers. This satellite phone, on the other hand, might be useful," Allen Zhang mused and prepared to play a trick.

He simply sat in the passenger seat of the Jeep and had Zorro take a few close-up shots of himself. After checking the close-up photos - good angle and very clear - he sent them to the contact on the satellite phone.

Mickey Private Detective: The target is still driving towards the Estate Ranch. They had a collision with a private car on the highway, which might affect their business cooperation progress.

The contact replied swiftly: Good job, continue monitoring the target. The money we promised will be transferred to your agency's account after the job.

Mickey Private Detective: If you could add a bit more money, we wouldn't mind kidnapping him for you, guaranteed without a hitch.

Contact: Do you really have the capability? Private detectives taking on kidnapping jobs? No need, don't ruffle feathers unnecessarily. Just monitor them; we will handle this with specialists.

Mickey Private Detective: Alright, I'll continue to push updates to you. But I really think you should reconsider our offer.

After spreading the false information to the contact, Allen Zhang put away the satellite phone. After a while, the Beggar Gang Disciples drove over.

They stopped by the roadside. Jumping out of the car, they approached, asking, "Boss, where are the laborers? Traffickers again?"

"The three guys lying on the ground, take them to the Qiliye Mountain to learn their lesson," Allen Zhang pointed at the three people tied up on the ground.

"These people dared to provoke us? Rest assured, we will teach them well," the Beggar Gang Disciples said and immediately dragged them onto the vehicle.

The private detectives regained consciousness midway, and seeing themselves abducted by strangers, they panicked. But before they could scream, the Beggar Gang Disciples injected each of them with a sedative, and the three immediately lost consciousness.

The Beggar Gang Disciples tied up the captives, closed the doors of the van, and drove off the suburban highway.

Watching the van drive away, Allen Zhang also got back into the Jeep and had Zorro continue driving towards Green Field Town's Estate Ranch.

Despite a minor mishap and the extra time, they still arrived at the destination within half an hour.

Driving unobstructed, Zorro arrived at the ranch in Green Field Town. He parked in the ranch yard, and upon getting out of the car, saw three groups of elegantly dressed elites observing the oil well donkey pumps. The oil pipelines had already extracted quite a bit of crude, filling up more than a dozen containers.

Nearby, there was Chief Arthur from the Green Field Town Police Station, maintaining public order, considering he was also paid to do the job. Without showing off well, how could the General Sect Leader reward them with bonuses and dividends?

After all, except for minor thefts, public order in town was stable, and there wasn't much to do. Apart from playing cards and flirting with girls in the office, that was more or less it.

Old Karl was also there and immediately greeted Allen Zhang upon his arrival, "Why are you so late?"

"I ran into some trouble on the way, but it's temporarily resolved now," Allen Zhang said, taking out the satellite phone and handing it to Zorro, instructing him to find a suitable spot to take photos and send them to the contact from Lightning Oil Company, to keep them in the dark.
