Chapter 655: 228, Atlantic City does not support idle people

Atlantic City expansion work is now divided into two parts!

The first part, Westglenn had already registered a company in his own name called Westglenn Construction, and within a month, completed the recruitment of workers and management. They have now begun clearing the land in the new North District, and have also hired a design firm from Atlantic City to design the entire layout of the North District. In the simplest possible terms, the blueprints are even ready.

The second part involves starting to persuade the residents of the old North District of Atlantic City!

And it was in this part that an accident occurred.

There is a restaurant in the North District called Rom...which is the same restaurant where James was provoked by Pierce and others.

The owner of this restaurant is named Harrison Rome!

Upon learning that the North District had to be relocated to a new area, he was the first to express support for this matter, which was supposed to be good news for John and others.

But Harrison Rome also understood that his agreement could play a leading role in the North District. Emboldened by this, Harrison Rome made exorbitant demands.

He not only asked John and others for a sky-high demolition compensation but also wanted three storefronts in the new North District equal in size to his current restaurant...the kind that is given away for free!

John and others, of course, would not agree to Harrison Rome's outrageous demands.

If it were an ordinary person from the North District, John and the others would not care, and would have even sent them to prison by this time. Unfortunately, Harrison Rome had a considerable reputation in the North District, second only to Irving.

Thus, John and others were acting with caution.

So without resorting to violence, John and others took turns negotiating with Harrison Rome, but he was resolute, refusing to agree to any of their conditions!

Yesterday, as John's representative, the corpulent and lean monk...uh, that is, Tyrone Capello who had severely dealt with Harry Sinclair, along with Joachim Lang, once again went to negotiate with Harrison Rome.

These two hot-tempered fellows, after being repeatedly rebuffed by Harrison Rome, finally lost their tempers.

They grabbed a bottle of Western liquor from Harrison Rome's restaurant and began to bash it over Harrison Rome's head. When some of the restaurant staff tried to intervene, Tyrone Capello pulled out a handgun and fired a shot at the restaurant's ceiling.

This shot intimidated the others, but it was only a temporary reprieve. After all, many people present were armed, and given that these Black individuals had simple minds and were prone to anger, they could no longer endure the arrogant demeanor of Tyrone Capello and Joachim Lang.

Thus, a fierce gunfight ensued.

If Irving had not arrived in time, there was no way Tyrone Capello and Joachim Lang would have been able to walk out of Atlantic City alive!

"Did anyone die?"

Donnie stood in the intensive care unit of Atlantic City Hospital, looking at Tyrone Capello and Joachim Lang lying on the hospital beds, and asked John who was beside him.

John replied, "There are two critically injured, now undergoing emergency treatment, but it looks like they won't die. They'll definitely need wheelchairs in the future though!"

Tyrone Capello, lying on the bed with his legs dangling off the edge, said in a soft voice, "Boss, this is our fault, we shouldn't have caused such trouble at this time!"

Joachim Lang even said loudly, "Boss, you can punish us however you want, just don't send us back to Elwood Village!"

Donnie snorted coldly and said, "You two started the fight and didn't even manage to kill a single Black person. If it weren't for the fact that you're lying here right now, I'd have you sent back immediately!"

"Ah?"

The two were somewhat confused, having expected a harsh reprimand from Donnie for their impulsive actions, only to hear him say this?

It was Joachim Lang, who nearly filled the entire bed after lying down, who first caught on, "Boss, rest assured, we will definitely strive to follow through and kill them in the future!"

"However, you indeed disrupted my plans with this incident. Even though you're not my men, it wouldn't be a problem if I asked John to withhold your salaries for a month, right?"

Donnie inquired.

"No problem, no problem!"

The two quickly answered.

Donnie nodded in satisfaction and said, "However, considering that the two of you are injured on behalf of the company, I have decided on behalf of John to grant you six months' salary and cover all of your hospital expenses!"

"Thank you, boss!"

The two were somewhat choked up.

At this moment, Donnie turned to John and said, "Where is that Harrison Rome now?"

John replied, "He's being treated at the community hospital in the North District!"

Donnie snorted coldly and said, "Harrison Rome dares to resist the law with violence. Such a man, and your security forces let him receive treatment in the hospital, not only that, but you also allowed those who dared to shoot guns in the North District to get off scot-free. What are your security forces even for? Are you the security forces of the North District or the entire Atlantic City?"

John was clearly out of his depth. How could it be that they were the ones at fault in the first place, having violated the United States Constitution first, and now with a few words from Donnie, the entire situation had undergone a radical change?

Weren't they supposed to avoid making a big fuss over this matter?
