Chapter 1079: 369, immense wealth
"How's the situation at the lab?"
Donnie sat on his study sofa, his expression calm as he asked Randolph Roman.
Randolph Roman's eyes reflected respect and admiration: "Thanks to your instructions, boss, our security at the lab is very good, they didn't succeed!"
When Atlantic City began to publicize the hazards of radium products, Donnie thought of those in the alliance of radium product merchants, knowing that if they weren't persuaded, they would definitely resort to desperate measures.
So, Donnie enhanced security at three places: his own Block Manor, beside Helen, and lastly, the lab!
It seems the other side couldn't hold back!
"What was the situation on-site?"
Donnie continued to ask Randolph Roman.
Randolph Roman narrated: "Three were killed, five were subdued!"
Donnie snorted coldly, saying: "They did send quite a number of people over!"
John, sitting on another sofa, angrily said: "Finish off these people and return them to those folks, I want to see how they react when they see these bodies!"
Randolph Roman said: "We haven't interrogated who sent these people yet!"
John gave Randolph Roman a disdainful look, "Your methods were too lenient, send them to New York, I'll show you how to deal with them!"
Randolph Roman didn't respond to John's suggestion, instead looking at Donnie, as this matter ultimately depended on Donnie's decision!
John spoke to Donnie: "Donnie, heed my advice, get them to New York, first find out who sent them, then tell the Atlantic City Post to report it, and finally send the bodies back to their allies!"
Upon learning there wasn't much trouble at the lab, Donnie felt relieved and laughed: "You're dreaming too beautifully!"
"Absolutely!" John initially said with delight, then in puzzlement, asked Donnie: "Were you complimenting me just now?"
Donnie shook his head, "No, because your plan can't be used!"
"Why?" John asked, puzzled.
"Firstly, giving their statements to the Atlantic City Post or any other newspaper is useless, because readers would believe we're staging a play ourselves!"
Currently, the American public is convinced Donnie is portrayed as a villain in blocking everyone's pursuit of health, as written in the papers.
In a preconceived emotional state, they won't believe the testimonies of unrelated minor characters, rather thinking we're deceiving them.
Though Donnie wanted to leverage these people's ignorance to retrieve more benefits for his side, at this point, additional pursuit is inappropriate!
Thus, these people's statements could be presented to the media, but definitely not now!
"Secondly, returning these people's bodies to their allies holds no advantage for us, instead easily prompting them to react differently in the radium product matter!"
So far, even some American magnates have believed Donnie, knowing he's not baseless in publicizing the hazards of radium products, some even starting research in this field, like Old Rockefeller.
But Donnie can assure that their research progress is certainly not as advanced as his own.
However, Donnie's research progress also surpasses others, specifically those large radium product merchants, whom Donnie believes possess more comprehensive research reports than his own.
Returning these assassins' bodies now could easily incite them to undertake excessive actions.
For example, preemptively announcing the hazards of radium products... although this possibility is minute, given the circumstances, Donnie hopes nothing will allow others to seize the greatest advantage before him!
"Then what should be done with these people?" John asked Donnie.
Donnie instructed Randolph Roman: "Contact Rhode Granger, hand these assassins over to him, he'll know what to do!"
Randolph Roman nodded: "Understood!"
After Randolph Roman departed, Donnie dialed the lab's number, first expressing concern for the safety of the researchers and professors, then enquiring about the research progress!
Now that the opponents have started striking covertly, it's evident that they couldn't sit still, prompting Donnie to quickly obtain the research report on the hazards of radium products!
"Thanks to Mr. Block for his concern!" Professor Thomson, responsible for this research, first calmly thanked Donnie for his concern, then said: "Now three-quarters of the report is completed, give us one more week, in a week, the report can be completed!"
"Thank you, Professor Thomson!" Donnie courteously said.
Professor Thomson is a medical professor at Stanford University, akin to a giant in the American medical field.
Robert initially spent quite a bit of money to persuade him!
"It's necessary, but there's a matter I wish to discuss with Mr. Block!" Professor Thomson's calmness faded, appearing somewhat awkward.
Donnie laughed: "Professor Thomson, feel free to put forth any requests!"
Only then did Professor Thomson speak to Donnie: "Mr. Block, I believe this report, once released, will shock the nation, potentially being recorded in history!"
