Chapter 227: Trouble trouble.
Leo had just finished dealing with a few meetings discussing the various important things that they needed for the electric car project when his phone rang, and the call originated from the principal office in the Primal Elementary School. Leo frowned and after accepting the call, he heard the principal on the other side say, "Mister Cardinal, I would like to you come over to the office as soon as possible. We have a troublesome situation at hand."
Leo asked, "What is it?"
The man sighed and replied, "Sir, just now Miss Verse has come over with Lily, and a new transfer student, Dyrell. It seems to me that the two of them had some conflict and their was a physical exchange as well."
Leo frowned and his blood rushed to his head, the young man calmed himself down and said, "I will come over right away."
The drive wasn't long and Leo noticed that he managed to keep his temper under control. He smiled at it thinking it was an achievement but what was actually keeping him under control was the fact that the system had yet to hand out any tasks. They reached the school premises, and Leo found that Zeenat was not their to greet him and report the situation on the door, and only Miss Verse was standing there.
He bowed slightly as a greeting and asked, "Miss Verse is Lily hurt?"
The lady shook her head with a faint smile on her face, "It would be better if you see her for yourself."
Leo nodded and followed behind her. They headed not to the principal's office but they went to the infirmary inside the school. Leo took a few deep breaths to calm himself down, and when they arrived at the doors, he found Lily sitting outside the infirmary with Zeenat beside her.
Leo crouched down beside her and instead of talking he checked her appearance and then he sternly looked at Zeenat as he asked, "Can you tell me what happened?"
Lily raised her hand but before she could say anything Zeenat replied, "That child Dyrell is a new student in the class, and he was trying to befriend everyone, and when they were playing around, he said that women are physically weaker than men. To which Young Miss took offense and rebuked him. Dyrell didn't budge from his belief and then they both argued which got heated.
Young Miss kinda lost it when Dyrell said that Madam Snow was also weaker, then Young Miss launched a standard punch at Dyrell. However, that kid is two heads taller than young miss and the punch landed directly on his chin. He just regained consciousness, but it was a one punch knockout."
Leo took a deep breath and looked at Lily as he sighed and asked, "Love, you know your mother will have me on her plate after this?"
Lily nodded and tears appeared in her eyes. Leo didn't console her, he wanted to but he didn't, because it was necessary that she learned to control her temper. Lily hugged his neck and she cried loudly while she said things like, "I am sorry Baba, I didn't know it would be like that."
Leo closed his eyes, he was about to cry along with his daughter, but he could not bear to do so. After all, if they both cried, then who would be looking after Lily. After a few minutes, he patted her back and replied, "Don't worry, it is fine. Baba will handle it."
Lily still didn't stop and she kept on crying because she thought that Dyrell had suffered a real critical injury. The young man took a deep breath and then he looked at Miss Verse as he asked, "Miss Verse, is his parents here?"
At this moment a calm but cold voice sounded, "Yes."
Leo turned to look at the person who spoke and he sighed, "Vance Floyd."
On the other side of the hallway, a young man walked in with a burly look. This man was Leo's senior in college, he was the boxing champion back then and now he was a national champion on his way to enter the high tides of the world boxing scene. Leo sighed and said, "Well, how do you want to do this?"
Vance shrugged and said, "I didn't that the daughter of a pretty boy like you would be able to knock my boy down."
Lily raised her head from Leo's neck and indignation appeared in her eyes. She clenched her fists for a bit before she closed her eyes. The expression was so fiery that even Vance sensed it and he was surprised. He looked at Leo and said, "Two options, you can send your daughter to learn under my guidance, or, get in the ring with me."
Leo smiled and replied, "I will get in the ring with you."
His smile was filled with provocation, he was really going to give it to Vance for eyeing his daughter. Vance was surely surprised and said, "Fine, I will see you at this location in the evening."
The young man took out a small card from his pocket and handed it to Leo. The latter took the card and said, "See you."
Then he walked away from the place, however, Zeenat just stood there looking at the young man with a mocking look and said, "All the best."
Vance raised his brow and then all he caught was the receding backs of the two people. He was surprised to see that not only Leo but even his attendant was telling him such a thing. Before coming here, he had done his homework and found that Lily was the daughter of Snow and Leo so he knew that the lady behind Lily was not Snow. However, he smirked and remarked, "Interesting."
…
Leo came to the principal's office, and then he wrote an apology letter. Lily was upset and she was held by Zeenat the entire time, she knew that her father loved her a lot. So much that he was not afraid of fighting a boxing champion and similarly, right now, he was signing a letter of apology even though he didn't do anything wrong. He was apologizing for her sake.
'Ping: Host, your daughter is overwhelmed by guilt that her actions have caused harm to your prestige. Although this will help her grow more meticulous, but as a parent you have to make sure that her growth is authentic and not based on trauma. Reward: Interaction Companion.'
Leo questioned, 'What is an interaction companion?'
'Ping: An AI module that can be integrated in the various products that you sale and it will act as a conversation companion to whom the people would be able to confide in.'
Leo nodded and then he said to the Principal, "Sir, I will make sure that something like this never happens again."
The Principal sighed and replied, "I understand, Mister Cardinal. Lily has always been a good student. So, we know that it is not going to be a a frequent happening. Also, Lily, you are a strong child, don't bother about what has happened, look towards the future and make the best out of it."
Lily just nodded and then Leo took him from Zeenat's arms as they left the office and headed outside. Lily whispered, "Baba, I apologize."
Leo smiled and asked, "What are you sorry for my child?"
Lily replied, "Baba, I caused great trouble. You had to apologize to the Principal because of what I did."
Leo shook his head and replied, "That is not what you should apologize about. What happened is already a thing of the past, now you should focus on becoming better. What you did was right, however, there were different methods for answering it all."
Lily frowned and Leo said, "You could have reported his words to your teacher, or stop talking with someone who is so disrespectful."
Lily hummed gently, she did understand that she could have handled it in a different manner.
Leo patted her back gently and replied, "Now, calm down, and let it go. Think of it as a clay sculpture where you applied a little too much force. Next time when you make a sculpture make sure that you pay attention to the force you apply."
The little girl nodded and then the two people headed back home. Clara prepared some food for them and Leo sat down in the living room after Lily when to sleep. He was looking at the details of the location that Vance had asked him to come at. Kyle came over and asked, "Sir, can I accompany you tonight?"
Leo was surprised and asked, "What do you mean?"
It was Kyle's time to change shift with Jock, and the man had been trying to woo June lately so Leo didn't see him lingering around. Kyle clenched his fists and said, "Sir, June likes Vance as an idol. So, when you beat him up, I want to record a video and show it to her."
Leo was stunned, and at this moment a calm voice sounded from the doorway, "Leo Christopher Cardinal, what the heck did you tell me when I asked you to not teach her martial arts? You better say something that will save your skin."
