Chapter 2: Week 1: Day 2 : Yamamoto: How are we going to get to school in this rain?

Today, heavy rain poured down as if the sky was leaking.

When Saya looked out the window, she saw the dark, brooding sky above. The sound of rain was quite loud, and the large raindrops made her feel a little scared. She couldn't help but worry if the window would crack from the rain. That's why Saya go down to waiting at the living room instead.

The rain had been falling since she woke up, and Gokudera had gone back to work on some of his research since midnight. That involve directly with Saya herself, he had to leave early But he mentioned to her that if there was anything urgent, she should call him all of time.

Today, she felt strange sensations in her body. She felt cold and moved a little slower than usual. After the red light on her ring went out when she woke up, a blue light appeared.

Before calling Gokudera, she received another call. The screen displayed the name "Reborn".

"Hey there! Is it a blue light day today?" Reborn asked.

"Yes, there's a blue light on my ring. It just changed from red flame when I woke up," she replied with a concerned tone. She then flipped her ring back and forth, and the blue light slowly brightened as she was still in her pajamas.

"This is a Rain Flame, huh? that made rain have falling then." Reborn explained. "This Rain Flame is the weakest element So, it's safe for you. You're lucky today. Yamamoto is on his way to pick you up, so don't worry."

"Okay," she said before Reborn hung up.

The weakest flame. Saya reassured herself before smiling to and proceeding with her daily routines.

While taking a shower and getting dressed, she prepared a bento box as usual. Today, she decided to make one for Yamamoto too, just in case. Yesterday, she hadn't made one for Gokudera, feeling overwhelmed by the events. Saya planned to make up for it next time.

"So... what does Yamamoto like to eat?" she pondered as she stood in front of the gas stove. She remembered that Yamamoto's father's shop made sushi, but she wondered if he would get bored of fish or seafood. "In that case... I'll make chicken teriyaki rice."

Once done, Saya proceeded to make the bento boxes, although she moved a bit slower and felt a bit cold inside. Nevertheless, she managed to endure the discomfort while standing in front of the stove. She made a mental note to prepare a warm table soon. If the gas stove kept going like this, it wouldn't last.

Ding dong!

As the doorbell rang, Saya went to open it and found a black-haired, slightly dark-skinned boy with a sporty appearance. Yamamoto stood in front of the door, smiling despite being slightly wet from the rain. Saya noticed a car driving away, probably Reborn dropping Yamamoto here.

"Hey, good morning, Saya-chan. How about you?"

"I'm a bit cold, but I'll manage. I'm moving a bit slower today, but it's nothing major. Thanks for asking," Saiya responded, with a hint of concern in her voice. Yamamoto Yamamoto replied, waving his hand.

"Take your time, Saya-chan. We are friend now…" He got little stun when he has felt smell of food inside. Yamamoto smell a little before he will give a gentle smile out. "Are you cooking now? bento?"

"Sure, but I don't know what Yamamoto-kun likes to eat, so I made chicken teriyaki for him," she said with a sweet smile, then opened the door wide for Yamamoto to enter. "But I wonder if it's to his liking?"

"Well, I'll give it a try. But it smells delicious," he said. "However, you extend your hand first."

After closing the door, Saya extended her hand to the boy. He lit the ring and controlled the fire. "Thank you," she said as Yamamoto smiled back.

"Lead the way, Saya. Please guide me," he said, rubbing his head, as Saya nodded before turning to lead the way.

As Saya led him to the kitchen, Yamamoto looked around the house and noticed that although it was decorated in warm beige tones, it seemed strangely quiet and lonely. He couldn't help but feel a bit surprised, but since they hadn't become close yet, he kept his curiosity to himself.

"I've prepared breakfast just in case. I wasn't sure if Yamamoto had eaten breakfast yet, so I thought it would be good to prepare in advance," she said before lifting the pan of chicken teriyaki from the stove. After Yamamoto finished drying his hair with a towel, he helped her dish out the cooked rice and assist her in packing the bento neatly, just as a family would for their restaurant business.

Once they finished making the bento boxes, it was time for breakfast. It was the same menu as usual chicken teriyaki rice balls. As Yamamoto was picking up the chicken from the pan to put it in a bowl, Saya suddenly screamed.

"Y-Yamamoto-kun!" Saya shouted, and the blue flame on her ring suddenly flared up again, and the rain poured down even harder than before, as if yesterday's downpour wasn't enough. At that moment, Saya's body was filled with blue flames, uncontrollably spreading all over her body. Yamamoto was also shocked, feeling the impact, even though he managed to maintain the balance of the fire.

"It's okay now," Yamamoto said gently, holding Saiya's trembling form. Even though his heart was still pounding, he didn't let go. "Don't be scared. If anything happens, I'll help you. Everyone in Vongola will keep you safe, Saya."

Saiya looked into Yamamoto's eyes, still trembling. Her pale blue eyes were filled with tears, shimmering with fear and shock. She felt different from the smiling, gentle person he had seen just a moment ago.

"...I didn't think it would flare up again... I'm sorry," Yamamoto said before he hugs Saya, her body is small and thin more than he saw.

Saya's eyes widened when he is hugging her, but she is not resisting at all. Opposite, she hugged back, gradually tightening her embrace. Her face pressed against his chest, her body trembling. Yamamoto gently stroked her head and showed empathy. As he looked out the window, he noticed that the rain had gradually stopped.

"Let's go to school together, Sayaka. The rain has stopped," Sayaka rested her face on his chest. "But... let's go after we finish eating. I'm hungry."

Yamamoto smiled warmly as Saya raised her head, her eyes still slightly red from crying. She hesitated before they both let go and started to sit down and eat.

She had only moved to this school a week ago, and although Yamamoto was a classmate, she didn't know much about him. He seemed like a kind-hearted and friendly person to everyone. His hug was something she wasn't used to, and it felt strange and frightening. It was more than she could handle, both physically and emotionally.

Saya glanced at the boy who seemed carefree as he ate, and strangely, she felt relieved, though bewildered.

After they were both full, Sayaka and Yamamoto left the house together, carrying their boxed lunches wrapped in red packaging resembling sweets. Despite the rain still falling lightly and the sky remaining somewhat cloudy, there was a faint light starting to shine through the clouds.

Saya looked up at the sky where Yamamoto pointed and saw a rainbow streaking across. She thought it was incredibly beautiful."
