All Class Tamer

Chapter 8: Chapter 7 – Journey to Lavela Kingdom

The next morning, I woke up between two beautiful girls—Aisha and Reshia. As I slowly opened my eyes, I heard voices outside. Baran was speaking with my mother. I quickly washed my face and stepped out, but Baran had already left. He'd left a letter behind, addressed to me.

During breakfast, while Mom served us her usual delicious stew, I opened the letter. It was from Princess Aurora.

"To my dear acting little brother, Ares Meledric,

I hope this letter finds you well.

I've spoken highly of you to the royal family of Lavela—especially to Prince Desmond, my fiancé.

He has requested to meet you in person.

Please make your way to Lavela Kingdom as soon as you can.

Try not to get into too much trouble along the way.

— Aurora Astarte

P.S. Yes, Desmond really is my fiancé. Try not to act too surprised when you meet him."

"Desmond...?" I muttered, still groggy from sleep. "Wait? Fiancé?!"

"That's wonderful!" my mother beamed. "Also, congratulations to you, Ares. And you too, Aisha and Reshia. You've officially been promoted to Rank B adventurers!"

"Woah! Did Baran arrange that for us?" I asked, surprised.

She nodded. "You've earned it. You're making a name for yourself, just like your father once did."

As I packed for the journey, my mother warned us that Lavela Kingdom would take about three days on foot. It sounded like a real adventure at last.

Before we left, Mom gave each of us a travel pouch with herbs, healing potions, and snacks.

Aunt Testia leaned over and whispered to Mom, "How many more girls will he bring home, you think? One? Two? A dozen?"

Mom just smiled. "That's his class. Let him walk the path he's meant to."

Day One

Several hours into our journey, we stopped by a riverside to rest. Aisha, curious as always, accidentally woke up a burrowing beast—a Raroot—which charged at Reshia.

"Waaah!" Reshia shrieked, hiding behind me as usual. I moved to cast Bone Shield, instincts kicking in—

but Aisha was faster. She had the beast pinned before I even blinked.

Aisha caught the Raroot and handed it to me. I chuckled quietly as I roasted it over the fire. Nothing fancy, but it filled our stomachs.

We continued through the Monster Forest. Aisha gathered meat enthusiastically, while Reshia clung to my side every time she heard a rustle.

"Aisha, stop teasing her," I warned as she tried to spook Reshia with rustling beetles.

As dusk settled in, Aisha's stomach grumbled.

"Master, I'm hungry..." she pouted with her ears drooping. Her tail twitched like a starving wolf pup.

"We'll camp here and cook something warm," I replied. Aisha's tail wagged in excitement.

Thanks to Aunt Testia's cooking lessons, I whipped up a tasty stew. We sat by the fire, ate together, and took turns keeping watch.

Aisha took second watch, and despite her fear, Reshia braved the last shift. That night passed quietly, under a blanket of stars.

Day Two

The next morning, we washed up at the nearby river and resumed our journey. Along the road, we encountered an adventuring party and shared a campfire with them. One of the adventurers was a dwarf—the first I had ever met in person. He told fascinating tales about crafting magic tools.

Later, we reached Mahale Village, one of the Lavela Kingdom's protectorates. After securing the last room at the local inn, we explored the village. With Lavela's influence, even a place this small had developed impressive magic tools.

We filled our bellies at a food stall, then returned to the inn as dusk settled.

"I pick the right side of the bed!" Aisha declared, flopping down like a queen claiming her throne.

"I thought I picked the right side!" Reshia protested, pouting.

"Can you girls settle down!?" I shouted, flustered. "Aisha on the right. Reshia on the left. That's final."

"Yes, Master Ares," they both replied in unison.

As night fell, they both cuddled against me. Reshia clung tightly, clearly nervous—probably because Aisha kept giving her the evil eye and growling softly.

That Night

Just as I was about to drift off, I noticed something strange through the window. A large shadow shifted through the trees beyond the village.

"…What was that?" I sat up.

But nothing else moved.

"Probably just my imagination," I mumbled, closing the curtain. I lay back down and sighed.

"Just one more day… and I'll meet the prince of Lavela Kingdom.

Whatever happens next… I need to be ready."

And with that, I finally closed my eyes.
