Chapter 21: Chapter 20 – Ion’s Resolve and Date
My name is Ion Kalculos.
I'm a noble—and Ares Meledric's rival.
I used to think of him as nothing more than a punching bag. I used to buy him off and humiliate him whenever I had the chance. But after he remembered my dream—to become a Rank-S Swordsman—something changed in me.
I was envious of him.
He had powerful allies, amazing strength, and beautiful girls at his side.
But then… Kira and Kana came into my life.
They approached me suddenly—at the wedding.
It felt as if we had met before. When disaster struck that day, they didn't run. They stayed beside me.
Why? I didn't know.
But then… they changed. They fused into something divine:
> Freezing Ablaze – Kirana
Her appearance was majestic. She had Kana's crimson eye on the right, Kira's icy blue on the left. Her hair was long, streaked in flowing red and blue.
Maybe that's when I first fell for them.
A month has passed since then.
---
They kept clinging to me, teasing and flirting. My own team was starting to get jealous.
Day by day, our bond grew stronger.
Kira would meet me after training. Kana would greet me when I returned home.
But then… Baran, the Guildmaster, came to me.
> "Can you conquer a dungeon?"
"Yes. Why?" I replied calmly. I had conquered one before.
"Can you go to the Fallen Kingdom of Farmist?" Baran asked. "No one has the strength to do it."
"Alone?"
"No. Ares is already on his way there."
Hearing that, I agreed.
As I packed my things, Kira and Kana were waiting just outside my room.
> "Going somewhere" Kira asked.
"Sorry, I—"
"We know." Kana said, grabbing my arm.
"Not fair, Kana!" Kira sulked cutely.
Then I asked,
> "you guys wanted to come with me?"
They stared at me.
> "Of course we will!" Kira grinned.
"I wanted to conquer a dungeon too." Kana added.
"But we actually wanted to be with you!" they said in unison.
---
But before that, I needed approval.
I visited the royal palace the next morning to meet their older sister, Princess Aurora Lavela Astarte.
I asked for permission to bring them with me. She agreed—but under one condition:
> She and her husband, Prince Desmond, would come along too—to surprise Ares.
I had no choice but to accept.
Just as we were ready to depart, Ares' father, Serth, appeared—alongside Amanda Meledric and Testia.
They wanted to see Ares before he entered the dungeon.
Serth offered to fly us there on his wyvern.
How? That's what I wondered too.
Serth, Desmond, and I rode the wyvern, while the others rode in a carriage carried by its talons.
Even Baran came with us.
---
We arrived in Bertha Town by noon.
The wyvern was exhausted from carrying the load.
We rested at a high-class inn, but Baran and Serth began acting strangely… sneaking off somewhere.
Meanwhile, Amanda (who was pregnant) and her sister Testia slept soundly.
Aurora and Desmond went on their own date.
Kira and Kana waited for me outside.
> "Too slow!" Kira shouted.
"Sorry, I was—"
"Let's go already!" Kana said, dragging me away.
"Kira, Kana… want to go on a proper date?" I asked, face red.
> "Ion wants to date both of us?" Kira teased.
"Bold~" Kana giggled.
"Yes! We want to!" they chimed.
---
We spent the day shopping.
They picked out a fancy outfit for me… and playfully teased me about lingerie.
They actually bought them too, along with new dresses.
Even though they were always bickering, they made me feel… lucky.
We ended the day walking along the riverside of Bertha Town.
Just as we passed the Colosseum of Indrasia, disaster struck.
A monstrous figure burst through the wall.
I knew that silhouette.
We fought something similar at the wedding.
But this time… it wasn't Dengka, the God of Dreams.
It was Amarath, the Goddess of Patience.
Another Evil God.
---
The monster roared and tore through the streets.
As a Royal Knight, I rushed forward and slashed at it.
Kira cast Ice Spirit Magic, freezing its limbs.
Kana rushed to rescue the bystanders.
Then—
The monster shattered the ice and struck Kira hard.
Kana screamed, igniting Fire Spirit Magic in a blazing wave of revenge.
But the monster grabbed her and slammed her to the ground.
And I… I stood there.
Paralyzed.
Watching the ones I loved being hurt.
> "Cool, you got Rank-A Swordsman now," I remembered Ares once said.
"But you what? Rank-E Tamer? Hahaha!" I laughed at him then.
And again, at the wedding:
> "You want to be a Rank-S Swordsman, right, Ion?" he said.
"Then show me what you got!"
My hand clenched tighter around my blade.
> "Light, shine through my blade! With your blessing—Archlight Thrust!"
A blinding glow surrounded me as I activated my skill:
> Archlight Knight!
Armor of radiant light encased my body. I charged, blade first, and slashed deep into the monster's hide.
"Hurricane Vortex!" Princess Aurora joined the fray.
"Draconic Burst!" Baran struck from the sky.
"Do it, wyvern!" Serth commanded—and a blast of devastating dragonfire followed.
"Diamond Gatling! Hahaha!" Desmond delivered the final blow.
---
The monster calmed down.
The chaos faded.
Guards dragged the battered beast to prison.
I rushed to the twins—they were safe, bruised but conscious.
I hugged them both, crying. I almost lost them.
They hugged me back—and kissed me in turn.
> "Take responsibility, okay, Ion," Kira whispered.
"And don't you dare fall for another girl!" Kana scolded.
I nodded without hesitation.
---
The next morning, I woke up…
between them.
I didn't remember what happened after the fight.
But Kira and Kana were snuggled beside me. I opened our status window.

> "Ion~ good morning," Kira said, half-asleep.
"Good morning, dear~" Kana added, eyes closed.
"D-dear!?" I stuttered.
> "Huh? You did it to us, remember?" Kira yawned.
"Did… what?"
I had no memory of it.
Later, I was summoned by Princess Aurora.
I explained everything, hoping nothing improper had happened.
She just smirked.
Apparently, Testia's healing magic fused with some kind of aphrodisiac.
"Don't worry," Princess Aurora said with a smirk. "It just made you three extra clingy. Nothing improper happened."
Still, the twins were healthy. Happy.
And I realized—I'd like to have them as my wives.
But I still had to return to my family and get their blessing.
That would wait—until we conquered this dungeon.
---
That night, the Colosseum owner invited us to sit in the VIP seats.
I was confused at first… until I saw Aisha, Ares' first tame.
And that… was how my day turned out.
