Chapter 10 : End of True Abyssal Dragon Arc
"Hmmmmmm.. Huhhhh...."
Alice is currently sitting in her workspace, continuously staring at a pink crystal-shaped item.
"I never even got this item in the Monsterland game...."
Beside the pink crystal, an explanation about the item's function and background appeared. Since Alice is a player, she can see the background and function of the item.
Name: Crystal of Mythical Monster
Tier: S+
Function: Can summon 2 Servants at once for 1 hour. (If one Servant is already summoned, an additional summon of 1 Servant is possible)
How to obtain the item: Defeat Mythical Monster transformed into Humanoid Form
Background: This crystal is the core of Mythical Monster. According to legend, this crystal was created by the God of Monsters, and it is the heart of the Mythical Monster.
If someone kills a Mythical Monster while it is still in its monster form and not humanoid, this crystal will also be destroyed.
Every monster has a 1% chance of transforming into a humanoid form after death.
After reading the item's explanation, Alice began to think.
"Since this isn't a Monsterland game, will this item have a permanent effect or remain temporary?"
"It looks like I'll have to do some experiments!"
Two hours have passed since the battle against the True Abyssal Dragon Lord, and it's currently 02:45 AM. Initially, Alice wanted to go to sleep, but she canceled her plans because there were still many things to do.
Due to her current race, Alice is immune to sleepiness and hunger, so not eating or sleeping is not an issue for her.
Alice's workspace is usually used for reading books, documents, and more. In the Monsterland game, this room also serves as a special place for reading books that provide intelligence stat bonuses.
"If I can summon another Servant, who should I call?"
Alice has 12 Servants, all of them powerful with various roles to help her in battles.
"My mana is running low... I still can't restore the forest - well, it can hardly be called a forest anymore since there are no trees."
Alice's hand is still holding the pink crystal, and her thumb continues to rub against it.
"The texture, it's like glass but much sturdier, with line-like patterns, and smoother."
Alice doesn't know why she keeps rubbing the crystal with her thumb, perhaps it's the addictive effect of the crystal.
"It's been almost 4 hours since I reincarnated, and I'm starting to get used to it."
"Although it's tough, I have to make it! Come on, Alice, you can do it!"
Alice encourages herself. Shortly after, there's a knock at the door.
Alice's current room is quite spacious, like an office workspace. At the front of the room, two large doors connect to a hallway.
Currently, only three people are inhabiting the Tower of Azaroth: Alice, Arina, and White Fox. However, White Fox seems to be outside as she doesn't like staying indoors.
"Come in,"
A beautiful woman in white attire, with amethyst-colored eyes and straight brown hair, enters.
Yes, she's Arina Sirius.
Arina seems to be carrying a large number of scrolls and books. Behind her are several undead creatures carrying scrolls and books as well.
These undead have skeletal bodies like skeletons, but their teeth are very sharp, and they even have sharp fangs on both sides of their cheeks.
The eye sockets of these undead creatures glow with a fiery red, and their attire looks very regal. They wear cloaks with patterns and golden edges, and there are floating chains swirling around their bodies.
They also appear to float and not touch the floor, and the bony fingers of these undead creatures look like long, sharp claws.
"Ancient Lich, stronger than a normal Lich, Lich Warrior, Arch Lich, Elder Lich, Elemental Lich, and Redemption Lich, with a level of around 130-140,"
In the Monsterland game, there are several ranks of liches, and the Ancient Lich is the third-highest in terms of power, below the Lich Lord.
However, in other aspects, the Ancient Lich is still less flexible than other types of liches.
The Ancient Liches floating behind Arina formed two rows on the right and left sides, with each row containing 5 Ancient Liches, and they followed Arina from behind.
Arina then placed the scrolls and books she was carrying on Alice's table, followed by the Liches placing all the books and scrolls they were carrying on Alice's table.
Alice felt quite pleased at the moment.
"Thank you, Arina,"
"No problem, Alice-sama!"
Arina looked very happy after Alice thanked her, and she was also enthusiastic. After that, Arina stood next to Alice, and the Ancient Liches kneeled, awaiting further orders.
Currently, Alice's table was filled with many books and scrolls, to the point where there was no room for Alice to place her hands on the table.
"So, Alice-sama, what are all these books and scrolls for?"
Arina asked with great curiosity, tilting her head.
(Oh, right! I haven't told Arina the reason I asked her, along with the undead, to fetch so many books and scrolls from the library.)
Alice picked up one of the rather large and thick books and opened it. The book seemed a bit dusty as if it hadn't been opened in years.
"Previously, in Monsterland, the Tower of Azaroth was in a safe zone, so we didn't need to upgrade it,"
"But now, we're in a different world, as I mentioned earlier, where there may be stronger enemies, and we also have limited information,"
"So, does that mean Alice-sama intends to create a force consisting of monsters and undead?"
"It's not entirely wrong, and not entirely right, Arina. I intend to upgrade Azaroth from a Tower to a Castle, and then upgrade it further to a Mega Castle,"
"So, that's it... Alice-sama wants to use all the undead and monsters to assist in Azaroth's construction?"
"That's correct,"
Arina's eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Let me lead the construction of Azaroth!" Arina exclaimed enthusiastically.
"Very well, I permit you. But before that, I want to summon many undead and monsters,"
"Alright! I'll ensure that the construction proceeds quickly and flawlessly!"
Alice remembered that she was currently holding the pink crystal, and she had been rubbing her thumb against it non-stop. Alice decided to ask Arina about which Servant she should summon.
"Thank you, Arina. By the way, I can summon another Servant right now, and who do you think I should summon?"
Upon hearing Alice's question, Arina paused, her hand on her chin. Moments passed, and Arina still hadn't answered Alice's question.
(Is she unable to answer? Or is there something else?)
"I apologize, as the eldest among all my Servants, I consider all of them to be equally important at this moment. I apologize for my foolishness in not being able to choose one among them,"
Arina lowered her head.
(So that's it, because Arina is my first Servant, she plays the role of the eldest among all the Servants I have)
(This is unique but interesting)
(But my question remains unanswered!!)
"It's okay, Arina, I forgive you. Lift your head. I'll think it over again."
Alice remembered the battlefield that was heavily damaged, with even the once lush forest turned into barren land due to her battle with the True Abyssal Dragon Lord.
Not only that, in some areas, there were frozen patches due to White Fox's magic, and scattered debris from the Golden Maneki Neko thrown in all directions.
"In that case, I need a Servant with high magical power to repair the damage to the forest,"
"I have a suggestion, what if Alice-sama summons high-level elves and dryads?"
(That makes sense, but I'm sure it will take a long time)
"I'll go with your suggestion, Arina, but I need someone to expedite the forest's recovery,"
"So, for that, I suggest summoning Aether,"
(Oh, right! Aether! I almost forgot about him because I hardly ever used him in battles)
(Maybe I should apologize to Aether later after I summon him, haha)
"Aether... yes...? That's an excellent suggestion,"
Alice praised Arina, who now appeared even happier, like a child receiving a gift from their parents.
"T-Thank you for your praise, Alice-sama,"
(Is that praise? I'm starting to feel a little weird because Arina also seems very formal with me)
(Maybe it's because they are Servants, so they have to speak formally like employees with their boss)
(Perhaps I should find someone to talk to later)
