Alchemist of Forbidden Arcane

Chapter 12: Game of betrayal (1)

So cool.

In front of a lookout post built by the elves on a high branch in the Holy Land, I sat on the stone railing, looking down at the Silver Tree Forest spanning a thousand miles below. Since this lookout was thousands of feet high, not only was the temperature cool, but there was also a thin mist similar to clouds. It was my first time reaching such a high place, and also my first time witnessing such a magnificent sight.

A rapid sound of footsteps came from behind, breaking the rare tranquility. Although the charm of solitude and peace was lost, at the same time, I felt very relieved.

"Master?"

"Lord Baron, let's discuss things slowly. Could you please come down? It's very dangerous for you to sit there."

Screw you!

All I was doing was sitting on the railing, enjoying the view, trying to look cool, but this pervert actually thought I was going to commit suicide? And he said all sorts of things in front of Lily, what kind of face does that leave me, your master?

I'll settle accounts with you when I get the chance.

I pretended to be nonchalant and turned around, facing them with a flawless, innocent smile. Besides that annoying pervert and my lovely Lily, behind me were also the six high-ranking elves I had just met in the meeting room, as well as over ten elf warriors I didn't recognize. I guess they must be the pervert's friends and subordinates.

"I remember when I was a child, I was very afraid of heights. But I don't know when, I stopped being afraid of heights. Instead, I like sitting in high places like this, looking at everything small below, feeling as if I'm looking at a different world."

Not being afraid of heights anymore probably started thirteen years ago when my mother passed away from a serious illness.

"Do you know why the Great Elder doesn't value me?"

A period of silence made me realize that they were either speechless or didn't know the reason.

Lily carefully walked to my side. I gently stroked her soft, silver long hair, still looking at the beautiful scenery outside.

"The Great Elder believes that with the military strength of the elf race, coupled with the defensive facilities of Gaia's Ridge, even an army of 400,000 cannot conquer this place. I agree, to some extent his idea is very correct; under normal circumstances, 400,000 troops are indeed not enough to take the Holy Land. However, he made a major military blunder. He completely failed to see the overall situation, only focusing on the small environment in front of him. For example, if you were to attack the Dark Elf tribe in such an important battle, who would you ally with? Would you choose the Orc race, who are undisciplined, untamed, and only think about looting?"

I didn't even need to look to know the expressions on the faces of those dunderheads behind me.

I was showing them the true charm and wisdom of a commander, and also making them understand their shortcomings and foolishness.

Even I dare not underestimate Tenshu; how can you underestimate the enemy?

The first to exclaim was the pervert. This reaction made me realize that he was not only the strongest mage here, but also the most capable commander. He realized that the situation was very bad and couldn't wait to continue: "If it were us, we would definitely choose to ally with the Vorust Empire, with whom we've had a good relationship for over ten years. The reason is not due to military strength, but because their army consists of true soldiers, unlike the Orc race, who only rely on numbers and individual combat power, and whose only purpose is plunder. Does Lord Baron mean that the Kingdom of Dierry, which has been allied with the Dark Elves for over thirty years, is their true reserve army?"

The Kingdom of Dierry is another major human nation bordering our country to the west, and in the past, it engaged in a century-long war with our country. The national power of the Kingdom of Dierry was once paramount on this continent. At that time, the Vorust Empire was only two-thirds its current size, and thus was often threatened by the kingdom.

Until about forty years ago, three exceptionally outstanding commanders emerged in the Vorust army. They were: my father, Valt Rader, the newly appointed commander of the Black Dragon Cavalry and Marquis; Prince Will Prodon, a direct descendant of the royal family, who led the Crimson Eagle King's Army; and the designated commander of the Silver Snow Wolf Army, Marquis Radick Obi. Over the ten years of their collaboration, they successively captured eight enemy cities, finally balancing the power between the two nations.

At that time, Dierry was even forced to relocate its capital, and Vorust also expended a huge amount of money and soldiers. Finally, both sides had to bow to reality, sending envoys to negotiate and sign the 'Treaty of Eternal Peace', which also ushered in an era of twenty years of peace and stability.

The pervert must be over five hundred years old, so he must know a lot about this 'Treaty of Eternal Peace' which affected the entire continent. Although the treaty bound our two countries not to invade each other's territory, it did not explicitly state that we could not send troops to aid our allies.

Therefore, it was reasonable and logical for the Kingdom of Dierry to send troops to assist the Dark Elves. The Orcs were at most a group of cannon fodder used for the initial assault, serving as a diversion to mislead the enemy.

"Anyway, since we're here, Lily, why don't you take me to your boudoir and sit for a while?"

I suddenly turned around, holding Lily's small hand and walking through the crowd. As I brushed past the pervert, I secretly gave him a wink.

"Master, please don't be like this, okay? Mm…"

In Lily's fragrant boudoir, I unceremoniously sat on her soft bed, and even had her sit on my lap, hugging her small waist and smelling the feminine scent between her soft breasts. Elves live simply, and Lily was no exception. Her bedroom was even smaller than my maids' rooms at home, and there were no special decorations, not even a single stuffed animal, which girls usually love.

Lily was still unaccustomed to such intimacy with a man. Under my teasing, she dodged left and right, refusing to let me caress her properly.

"Lily, your master is doing this for the sake of your people, so don't be naughty."

"This… what does this have to do with our people…?"

I secretly chuckled to myself, gently pushed Lily away, and lay down on her bed, saying, "Do you know how much pressure there is to be a military commander, overseeing tens of thousands of lives?"

Lily stood shyly in front of me, lowering her head and gently shaking it, her silvery hair swaying beautifully.

"Such immense pressure makes one tense all the time, like having nightmares all day, feeling as if one's brain is about to explode. So every general has special ways to relieve stress when leading troops. Some drink, some listen to music, and some even kill prisoners to reduce pressure. And your master, I, enjoy being intimate with women to relax. But I never force anyone. If you don't want to be with your master, that's fine, but my brain might not be sharp, and I might accidentally cause your entire clan to be wiped out. Then I'll feel bad."

I ignored Lily, comfortably closed my eyes, and started to sleep. In fact, I was really tired. I had been rushing non-stop to this godforsaken place for days, and at night, I had to sleep rough on a desolate mountain with a large group of guards. How could someone of noble birth like me sleep well?

This innocent female elf was indeed scared by me. She actually sat beside me and said, "I'm sorry, Master, please don't abandon my people. Whatever Master wants to do… Lily… will be good…"

"No, I, Avanti Radell, am a man of integrity (haha) and I don't do such despicable things as forcing others."

"Huh… then… Master… Master…"

"Actually, I'm very soft-hearted. Perhaps you could beg me. Beg me to be kind and kiss you, and I might change my mind."

Hehehehe (lewd chuckle) "Master… Master… Lily… please Master…" "What is it, do you want Master to kiss you, or do you want Master to… do you?"
