Agnisotra: Origin Tails

Vol 3 Ch 50: Sarian History

Bellia sighed and gestured for us to sit down. Byron and the other elvish leaders seemed confused but also sat down. 3 vixens I wasn’t close with got curious and joined us.

“So, before I tell you about what they are doing. What do you know about us?”

“Gods are petty!”

I agree with the vixens!

They seem to involve the mortals a lot in their problems

The elves deliberated. “They help us out in need.”

It was not Byron who said this. I think they’re biased. But so are we.

Bellia sighed again. “I guess we didn’t do much to get a good reputation.”

“We have nothing but admiration and gratitude toward you!” The elves were sucking up to Bellia and it annoyed me and the other vixens.

“I mean us gods in general, not many Sarian gods are in contact with those of the mortal realm relatively frequently. Personally, I only communicate with spirits, animals and elves so I’m guilty of this too.”

Oh, look a self-aware god!

The elves gave me a glare but I didn’t care.

“Hmm this one also doesn’t seem petty or arrogant, so there is hope for the deities!”

Now they directed the glare at this vixen with light pink hair ending in red. Neia seems to have daughters in every combo of pink and another hair color.

Bellia calmed the elves. “Relax, that is just how spirit foxes are. If they aren’t agitating someone, they must doing something wrong or suspicious.”

Bellia made a young tree sprout from her palm.

“My name is Bellia, I am the Sarian goddess of nature, healing, communications and many other things. We Sarian goddesses draw power from our names.”

Oh, I read that somewhere the more ‘A’, ‘E’, or ‘I’ you have in your name the more powerful you are.

“Correct, you could say that my number is 3, Della, Ardella I mean, also has a number of 3. So does that bitch Biian. The male gods have this with ‘X’, ‘Y’ and ‘Z’. Walter, formerly known as Wyxyxozyas has a number of 6 but as Walter he has a number of 0”

So if we call a god by a different name they get weaker? I didn’t feel like Walter was stronger than the other Gods.

“Well, he did abuse his power in the past and Della had sealed his real name and renamed him to Walter. We want to do the same to Biian, because she is nothing but an annoyance but her affinity for light makes it hard to catch her.”

How did you beat him anyway? He has a number of 6 while all of you have a number of 3.

“He was pushing his technology too much to the point the mortal civilization started challenging us and other gods, this led to their self-destruction. Biian, Zarrazax, Yxim and Yttroz fought Walter, as he sided with the mortals. They destroyed so much of the planet… Della and I were pissed.” Bellia seemed to remember this like it was yesterday and was becoming angry.

Is this what lead to the Great Eraser?

“Oh no! this event I was talking about happened more than 10 millennia ago.”

Oof that’s long time ago.

Bellia’s fist shook. “They fought for a century… Walter lost in the end. Della sealed his name and we repaired the broken planet. Yttroz helped out as an apology. Della secluded herself after that while I went to beat up Biian and Yxim. Yxim turned around. Biian didn’t. “ Bellia paused. At least there are some gods that care about what happen down here.

“Chiara helped me deal with Biian and Zarrazax, who weren’t apologetic, while Adea helped the mortals recover from near extinction. Biian eventually tried to take revenge on Chiara for pranking her but I don’t know how that went. All I know is that Chiara is near unbeatable, she’s like a spirit fox in god form.”

A vixen raised her tail. “Is she the god of spirit foxes?”

Bellia shook her head. “No, there is something however that you should know about your race, you might know that keeping us in line if were problematic falls under your duty but do you know why nine tailed spirit foxes specifically?”

No clue.

“To drive us to extinction?” Oof this vixen doesn’t hold back.

“You see there is a very interesting interaction. Chiara had once told me this: There was a being in the past, maybe a god stronger than all the Sarian gods combined or a completely different being. It had split himself up in 3 parts. The body, the mind and the spirit. He gave each to a certain group of species. The body, the strongest component, went to the gods. The spirit, went to the spirits, pretty straightforward. The mind however got spread over to almost all races. Each part has its own form of power, the mind manifested itself as ‘Magic’.” Bellia paused to see if everyone understood what she was saying.

“Us gods can use magic. But not as efficient as you all do; you all have the Mind. We use divine energy or we brute force our magic skills. Magic is our preferred way of combating; divine energy is likely to alert other deities. If Della and I use divine energy that’s fine, but this isn’t the case for other deities, not just the Sarian deities. Now humans, elves and spirit foxes and most other species have inherited the ‘Mind’ and thus are proficient in magic.”

Proficient she says, you have no idea how much improvement could be made…

Shush Agnis, let her talk!

“Now for those who were paying attention, you would notice that there is a race that has inherited both the ‘Spirit’ and the ‘Mind’. Which makes you almost as strong as the ‘Body’ which is roughly as strong as the ‘Spirit’ and ‘Mind’ together. This of course is assuming that skills are used that also meet this requirement.” Bellia looked at me.

“At least that seemed to be holding true until Pagos made its appearance under your race. And this young fox has found something else. Currently he is the biggest threat to deities.”

Congratulations Agnis, everyone wants you dead now.

Ugh… it’s not like I did that on purpose.

“Now if you can somehow acquire the ‘Body’ you would become a being more complete being than a god. What that would be? I don’t know unfortunately. Now Chiara and Adea are quite unique under the Sarian deities but they are not a complete being, because that’s what a nine tailed spirit fox god would be.”

You hear that, Greg? I’m more perfect than you!

That’s not what she was saying!

“So, what would happen if that bitch goddess wipes our race out?” A vixen asked.

Bellia got a sad look on her face. “Your role doesn’t only involve keeping deities in check so everyone including us deities would get into deep trouble. I’m not sure Chiara can keep the dimensional fabric functional for a prolonged period of time without you guys. I haven’t seen her in centuries…”

So why is that bitch so hellbent on wiping them out then? Won’t it also negatively affect her?

“Unfortunately, she’s not the brightest tool in the shed… even after getting her ass kicked multiple times by Chiara or Adea, she won’t let her pride change her mindset.”

Hehe, yeah, I heard that she got her ass kicked by a blue haired witch, even when in possession of a Dimsha.

The ears of the vixens perked up. “Ooh, I’m curious about that story! Can you Ourasyn me that later?”

Sure!

Getting popular under your own race, eh?

Shut it, Greg! Go ask some nerd questions instead of being a smartass!

So, what happened after the warring deities got punished?

“It was quiet for a long time and then Biian started to create her own religion, which still exists to this day… and Zarrazax started to court Biian and build his own army.”

That sounds familiar…

“Walter had been working hard and had reintroduced technology to the mortals but to a way lesser extent than before his punishment. He started to draw Biian’s attention and they started to fight again. He had asked Della to give him his true power back temporarily. She gave him 200 years as Wyxyxozyas, which he used to wage a war against Biian and Zarrazax. At this time, she also started collecting fur and slaughtering your kind. Wyxyxozyas was arrogant again and thought that 200 years was enough to beat Biian and Zarrazax. He was wrong. He held out 80 years after he returned to Walter and got defeated yet again.” Bellia seemed embarrassed for his failure. I feel the same.

“Now as the victor, Biian wiped out all the technology on the planet and wiped everyone’s memory with some form of mind control. All information about technology got destroyed before everything got wiped out. You refer to this as the Great Eraser. It wasn’t all powerful because structures have survived this event, as did fragments of memories from before this event.”

It still seems that it was effective enough.

“All this turmoil made the other deity groups opportunistic so Adea is singlehandedly putting them in line.”

Wait, so I’ve heard most of the names of Sarian deities, where does Wyndur fit in this and there should be 2 more.

“Xyoras and Zys were neutral, Wyndur seemed to have missed everything because he was training, at least that’s what Della told me. Zys and Xyoras are more active on other continents because those are… less rich in history. Yttroz is keeping silent while Yxim is traveling through the universe. Out of all of this I still don’t know how Wyndur fit into this encounter.”

“Maybe he felt left out and wanted some action”

I was thinking exact the same!

I high fived this cool blue haired vixen.

“Anyway, that bitch and Zarrazax, are probably the only Sarian Deities that you will have to worry about. Which reminds me, I really need to chase after them.” Bellia got up.

Wait! Do you know any deity by the name of Hablena? She seemed to be able to use the rot element, feathery dress, typical godly arrogance?

“Hmm, I take the use of Rot element very personally so I would know if a deity like that existed. I’m sorry, it doesn’t ring a bell. If you encounter her, please be careful. And if possible, contact a nature spirit or elf to call for me.” She looked at the elves. “If he mentions anything relating to the ‘Rot‘ element can you please contact me?”

The elves seemed to be happy that they got another task from her. Are these elves her pets or something?

“I’m sorry for the short visit but I need to catch that bitch. Also please be mindful of her religion. They have taken over a whole country and named it Bizax. They don’t need the power of a deity to catch you. And with that, I’m off. Take care lovely races of the planet Isi.”

“Huh, I thought our planet was called Yabia.”

Agnis, you take that one go have your Ourasyn session.

You sound jealous.

I held Ourasyn with the cool vixen whose name was Kaiiana, I conveyed the adventures of a blue-haired busty witch and how we discovered that the planet was named Isi, and my meeting with her simulacrum. This meant that all the sisters instantly knew about this. They’re like a hive mind. I made the joke that if Kaiiana was a goddess, she would have the number 5 and be super strong. It was a joke but she seemed to think I made that joke with a different intention and her eyes glowed pink purple and her charm magic flared.

It was awkward so I just escaped. Maybe that was situationally inappropriate. We spent the whole by socializing. We set up a camp where 3t, 6t, 9t, spirits and elves were welcome.
